700: Chapter 2 The Scar of the Sky, Mount Fumo

A few days later, in a room at an Inn.

Meng Li stood by the window, his mind racing as he processed the information he had gathered.

The era he was currently in was the Sui Dynasty, and the reigning emperor was Emperor Yang of Sui, Yang Guang.

The current emperor, Emperor Yang of Sui, Yang Guang!

This was not a conclusion Meng Li reached by putting the pieces together; he had heard it directly.

At the time, he had merely asked a few leading questions indirectly, and the person he questioned blurted out: "The current emperor, Emperor Yang of Sui..."

Meng Li was instantly stunned.

The current emperor, Emperor Yang of Sui!

These two phrases were fine separately, but combined, they somewhat overturned the historical common sense he knew.

Because "Emperor Yang of Sui" was Yang Guang's posthumous title.

A posthumous title was assigned by later generations based on a person's achievements after their death.

If Yang Guang was the current emperor, it meant the man was still alive, and the final judgment had not been passed. Where did the posthumous title "Emperor Yang of Sui" come from?

Did Yang Guang imitate Emperor Ming of Wei, Cao Rui, and decide it himself?

However, the posthumous title 'Yang' was an inauspicious one, carrying a meaning of condemnation.

No matter how brainless Yang Guang was, he wouldn't assign himself that title, as it would be equivalent to telling the world that he was a foolish and tyrannical ruler.

Yet, that was the situation.

Meng Li was quite puzzled and had no choice but to continue inquiring.

Then, he learned that three people were extremely famous in the court: Yang Su, Yuwen Tuo, and Lü Kai.

Yang Su was the Minister of the Interior, wielding immense power, and he was a Cultivator whose Divine Fire Daoist Magic was renowned throughout the land.

Yuwen Tuo was the Great General, having studied under Yang Su, possessing formidable strength. Most importantly, he possessed a sword named 'Xuanyuan'.

Lü Kai was the Prince of the South, holding the rank of Duke, and was hailed as the 'Number One Loyal Minister of the Court'. His son, Lü Chengzhi, was the Prince of the West, fond of making friends and known for his virtue.

Among this information, Yang Su, Divine Fire Daoist Magic, Yuwen Tuo, and the xuanyuan sword made Meng Li feel a sense of familiarity.

He quickly scanned his memories and matched them: the ancient costume Xuanhuan drama he watched in his first life, 'The Legend of Sword and Fairy: The Scar of Heaven', contained exactly these characters and elements.

Meng Li vaguely recalled that the drama also had some humorous nicknames:

For instance, the self-pitying version: 'xuanyuan sword: To show respect, I can omit the Earth Emperor.'

Or the complaining version: 'Wearing golden armor, holding the xuanyuan sword, stepping on the Vicious Beast Qiongqi, and you tell me this isn't the Earth Emperor?'

And the crossover version: 'Jing Tian, stop! She's your sister-in-law!' or 'Xu Changqing: Brother Jing Tian, is this how you take care of Zi Xuan for me?'

Thinking of these, Meng Li felt a brief amusement, but then couldn't help but mutter internally.

In his first life, he was a casual fan of Hu Ge, but this destiny spanning three lives seemed excessive. If Shi Shi were here, that would be enough...

It seemed this world had Shi Shi!

Truly three lives and three worlds!

However, he already had Long Kui, complete with both red and blue forms.

Ta Ba Yuer... he would deal with her when he met her.

The main plot of 'The Legend of Sword and Fairy: The Scar of Heaven' revolved around the protagonist group collecting the five divine artifacts and fighting against the invasion of the Demon Realm. The five divine artifacts were the kunlun mirror, the nüwa stone, the shennong cauldron, the kongtong seal, and the fuxi lute.

And the xuanyuan sword, which was prominently featured in the title, did not belong to the five divine artifacts.

Similar to the xuanyuan sword was the refining demon pot.

According to the lore, the five divine artifacts evolved from five pieces of the Heaven-Mending Stones refined by Nüwa.

The xuanyuan sword and the refining demon pot were not.

But these were not important. What was important was that the Divine Artifacts would help Meng Li suppress his Grotto-Heaven.

His previous sensing from outside this world had been correct.

However, Meng Li reviewed his memory and realized that in his first life, because he was in school, he had only watched a portion of the drama 'The Legend of Sword and Fairy: The Scar of Heaven'.

Good news: He knew the plot.

Bad news: He only knew part of it.

Therefore, Meng Li needed to quickly determine if the current timeline exceeded the scope of the plot he knew, so he could decide what to do next.

With this thought, he carefully reviewed the memories related to the plot again, then left the Inn and looked for someone to ask about Fumo Mountain.

Fumo Mountain was where the original protagonist, Chen Jingqiu, grew up.

Furthermore, the Divine Artifact kunlun mirror was hidden there.

As long as he found the location, Meng Li could make a rough judgment.

After some effort, he successfully obtained the result he wanted and immediately flew towards Fumo Mountain.

Flying near Fumo Mountain, Meng Li released his Divine Thought to further search for Chen Jingqiu's location, Gui Gu Village. However, before his Divine Thought could cover Fumo Mountain, he detected a violent fluctuation of magical power. He immediately steered his cloud toward that spot, but halfway there, he suddenly heard someone scream in agony.

"Ah----!!!"

"Are you insane?!"

Meng Li looked in the direction of the sound and saw three youths: two females and one male.

The two women were both wearing tight red outfits, one pinkish-red and the other orange-red.

The one in pink had her hair in a high ponytail and held a scimitar.

The one in orange-red was lying unconscious on the ground.

The man was wearing a light blue short top with black pants and black shoes; he was currently clutching his arm.

The scream just now had come from him.

The situation looked somewhat familiar, so Meng Li pondered briefly and descended from his cloud.

At the same time, on the ground below.

Ta Ba Yuer turned to Chen Jingqiu and said, "Hong Hong is fading fast. I need to use Gu to save her. Help me hold her, quickly!"

Chen Jingqiu glanced at the scimitar in Ta Ba Yuer's hand and obediently helped lift the unconscious Bu Lu Gu Hong, while wondering, "You're saving someone, why did you have to stab me?!"

"Hold her steady," Ta Ba Yuer instructed, stuck the blood-stained scimitar nearby, then began forming hand seals to cast her spell while explaining, "The Ta Ba Clan's resurrection technique requires vital Yang blood as a catalyst. Consider yourself unlucky."

Chen Jingqiu's eye twitched: "Is there anything more unlucky than running into you?"

After saying that, he added, "Is there enough blood? I have more."

Ta Ba Yuer was at a critical point in her spell casting and didn't want to talk much. She coldly ordered, "Shut up and hold her steady."

With that, she used her magic power to guide the blood on the scimitar into the part of Bu Lu Gu Hong's arm where beast fur was growing, and then mobilized the Gu insects for further treatment.

Chen Jingqiu saw the Gu insects and shuddered, instinctively batting them away.

"Don't move!" Ta Ba Yuer sharply admonished, then continued, "You're a grown man, what are you afraid of, bugs?"

Chen Jingqiu froze his movement and frowned, "Where did these bugs come from? They're too disgusting!"

Ta Ba Yuer snorted, "You think my Gu worms are disgusting? Be careful I feed you some! Hold the person steady!"

With that, she continued casting her spell.

Unexpectedly, not long after, Bu Lu Gu Hong suddenly opened her eyes, her pupils glowing red. She erupted with a burst of strength, sending herself, Ta Ba Yuer, and Chen Jingqiu flying apart.

When they regained their senses, Chen Jingqiu reached out to help Ta Ba Yuer, but she kicked him away: "Trying to take advantage of the situation?!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Bu Lu Gu Hong turned around.

Her face was deathly pale, her pupils glowed red, and she let out a whimpering low growl, then stiffly got up and reached out to grab Ta Ba Yuer and Chen Jingqiu.

Ta Ba Yuer and Chen Jingqiu saw that the situation was wrong and quickly retreated.

Ta Ba Yuer retreated while questioning Bu Lu Gu Hong, "Hong Hong, what's wrong with you?"

Bu Lu Gu Hong seemed not to hear and accelerated her approach toward Ta Ba Yuer and Chen Jingqiu.

Ta Ba Yuer sidestepped, grabbed Bu Lu Gu Hong's hand, intending to subdue her, but as soon as she made contact, she realized the other party's strength had become incredibly immense and she couldn't hold on.

Thus, she could only switch to a defensive struggle.

Chen Jingqiu, standing nearby, wanted to help, but his martial arts were mediocre. Not only did he fail to help, but he was also kicked flat on his back by Bu Lu Gu Hong. Coincidentally, he saw Meng Li descending from the sky.

"An Immortal has descended to the mortal world?" he exclaimed in surprise, then sprang up with a swift movement and shouted toward Meng Li, "Immortal, we need help!"

At this moment, Ta Ba Yuer and Bu Lu Gu Hong also saw Meng Li.

Bu Lu Gu Hong seemed to sense a dangerous aura and tried to turn and flee, but just a few meters off the ground, she was bound by a rope of golden light.

The other end of the golden light rope was connected to Meng Li's finger.

Meng Li landed and gently moved his finger, causing Bu Lu Gu Hong to be pulled before him by the golden light rope.

Seeing this, Ta Ba Yuer rushed over and said, "Quickly release Hong Hong!"

Meng Li glanced at her: "If I release her, can you stop her if she runs again?"

Ta Ba Yuer was speechless.

Chen Jingqiu beside her asked, "Immortal, you subdued her so easily, you must be incredibly powerful. Do you have a way to cure her?"

Hearing this, Ta Ba Yuer's eyes showed hope.

Meng Li did not reply. Instead, he pointed a finger, knocking Bu Lu Gu Hong unconscious, then retracted the golden light rope and began casting a spell to examine her condition.

A moment later, he withdrew his technique.

Bu Lu Gu Hong naturally collapsed. Ta Ba Yuer quickly rushed to support her, then asked Meng Li, "Immortal, how is Hong Hong's condition?"

Meng Li replied, "Her vital essence was absorbed, and during that process, she was infected with beast poison. She has already been assimilated into a half-human, half-beast state."

As he spoke, he glanced into the distance: "This was the doing of Taotie. Your friend is quite bold; with such little cultivation, she dared to loiter near it."

"Then, Immortal, can you cure her?"
