367: The flawed jade is the king (106).

The Supreme of the Immortal Sea took that step.

He arrived upon the land of the Eastern Region of the Yuan Land.

A catastrophe without warning descended.

The first to suffer was a Saint-Grade Orthodoxy closest to the Immortal Sea.

It was an ancient Sect that had passed down its Legacy for a hundred thousand years; within the mountain gate, saintly might surged and its foundation was deep. Usually, it was a power that awed the region, a Holy Land that countless Cultivators yearned for.

However, before the figure that walked out of the Immortal Sea, all of this appeared so insignificant.

He simply reached out calmly and pressed down from the sky toward that immortal mountain and blessed land.

The Mountain-Protecting Formation, laid down by several generations of Saints working together, shattered and dissipated silently.

Within the mountain gate, tens of thousands of living beings—whether they were Elders in seclusion or Disciples who had just entered the Sect—all felt the terror of their lives being drained away at the same instant.

They didn't even have time to scream before their life essence and Divine Soul were forcibly stripped away, turning into streaks of crimson Qi that all surged into the withered figure standing high in the sky.

Saints stood up, wanting to resist, but it was merely like an egg striking a stone.

"Mere ants."

He was known as the Ruthless Supreme Being. Although he had attained the Dao only three eras ago, his strength was already extremely great among Supremes, and he was likely not far from reaching the level of a Great Emperor.

A magnificent Holy Land was thus turned into a silent ruin.

This was only the beginning.

The figure of that Supreme walked slowly across the land of the Eastern Region.

His pace was not fast, but with every step he took, it was as if he crossed the distance of space, appearing ten thousand miles away.

Wherever he passed, blood flowed like rivers, and the people suffered.

One Orthodoxy after another was completely wiped out.

The terrifying news spread throughout the Eastern Region.

Countless orthodoxies fearfully sealed their mountain gates, activating all defensive formations to their limit.

Countless living beings fled in panic toward the direction of the Central State.

Despair and fear shrouded this vast land.

The Eastern Region was in chaos.

Atop the ruins of a Saint Sect that had just been washed in blood.

That withered figure stood quietly, holding an ancient trident that emanated the aura of a Supreme.

He closed his eyes, seemingly savoring the majestic life essence he had just absorbed.

He opened his eyes; there was no satisfaction in his cloudy pupils, only a deeper, more frenzied hunger and thirst.

"Not enough."

"Still far from enough."

He needed more and stronger blood food.

His gaze pierced through the endless Void Realm, finally locking onto a magnificent city shrouded in dense Luck.

Yu Tian City.

In the eyes of that Supreme, the current Yu Family was like the brightest torch in the dark night. That vigorous Luck, which had even materialized, and those young Prodigies with powerful Bloodlines and abundant vitality, all emitted an enticing "fragrance" that he found hard to resist.

"A Family of the Great Accomplishment Supreme Body..."

"Truly... the highest quality blood food."

Just as he was about to set off, a pellet drum covered in dust and blood in a corner of the ruins caught his attention.

It had once been a child's toy, now lying quietly among the rubble.

Seeing that pellet drum, a ripple actually appeared in his dead eyes.

A memory he had deliberately sealed for countless tens of thousands of years uncontrollably surfaced in his mind.

It was in the previous era, or perhaps even further in the past.

He came from an ordinary Family in the Southern Border.

Because his name was Yi Liang, which also sounded like 'One-Two,' his closest kin liked to call him Xiao San.

He was no noble or royalty, just a commoner from the grassroots, yet he possessed a talent rare across the ages.

He was once the most dazzling Prodigy of the Southern Border in that era, hailed by countless people as a child of destiny, his glory unmatched.

He had a loving father, a kind mother, and a lover; the two had long ago pledged their lives to each other.

He thought he would be like the heroes in legends, advancing triumphantly all the way, becoming a Saint and attaining the Dao, then leading his Family to glory and walking hand-in-hand with his lover to see all the prosperity of the world.

His rise was too fast and too dazzling.

So fast that those ancient clans and immortal orthodoxies, which had passed down for countless tens of thousands of years and were long used to controlling everything, felt threatened.

A commoner possessing terrifying talent was, in itself, an original sin.

They tried to win him over and tried to suppress him, but he resolved all their attempts one by one.

Finally, when he joyfully returned with treasures obtained from a ruin, wanting to share them with his Family, what awaited him was a sea of fire and ruins.

His Family and the city where he grew up had been washed in blood.

He watched helplessly as his father, to protect the clansmen and himself, burned his Origin and was besieged by enemies several times his number, dying in battle before his eyes.

He saw his mother and clansmen being wantonly slaughtered by those high-and-mighty enemies.

He saw those close friends who had once shared wine and joy with him, dreaming of the future together, charging fearlessly at those invincible enemies just to create a slim chance of survival for him, finally turning into clouds of blood mist.

"Xiao San... live on..."

That was the last sentence his father left him, using the last of his strength.

His Dao Heart completely collapsed at that moment, the world turned blood-red, and from then on, he was unable to recover.

Until later, when he met her; she was like a beam of light in the darkness, illuminating him.

Eventually, he pulled himself together again and advanced triumphantly all the way.

His rise was too fast, and for the sake of revenge, he caused too much slaughter.

During a massive siege, he was at the end of his rope, struggling on the verge of death.

It was his lover who, at the most desperate moment, stood in front of him.

She just looked at him tenderly, showing the same smile as usual, as if what lay behind them wasn't a hellish sea of fire, but the field of flowers where they first met.

"Xiao San, you once said you would take me to see all the scenery in this world."

"In the future, let my eyes see it for you."

After saying that, she sacrificed all her Divine Soul and Bloodline, using a method of mutual destruction to win him that fleeting chance to escape.

He survived.

But his heart had also completely died along with that fire.

From then on, he discarded everything from his past, discarded the name Yi Liang, and switched to the Path of Ruthlessness.

He succeeded.

With endless indifference and the obsession to resurrect everyone, he attained the Dao and became a Supreme.

Later, by a stroke of Opportunity, he obtained a forbidden secret technique from beyond the Nine Heavens.

"Resurrection Technique."

As long as there was a sufficiently powerful life Origin, one could pull those departed true spirits back from the long river of time and change their fate against heaven.

The scenes of memory ended there.

Atop the ruins, Liang's eyes returned to being cold and dead once more.

In his mind, only the last words of his father and lover remained.

"Xiao San... live on."

"The road ahead can only be walked by you alone..."

"Wait for me..."

"I will soon... resurrect you all."

He murmured to himself and no longer lingered.

His figure turned into a streak of light, carrying endless killing intent, and shot straight toward the direction of Yu Tian City.
