42: Alliance's First Battle, the Power of Chaos

A distance of a hundred miles was but an instant for World Lord level Cultivators. Lin Fan and his group restrained their auras, approaching the area where the energy conflict had erupted like ghosts blending into space, silent and soundless.

It was a vast wasteland covered in massive meteorite craters, as if endless stars had fallen here. At this moment, a brutal encirclement and slaughter was taking place in the center of the wasteland.

Those surrounded in the center were none other than the several Prodigies who had split off from Lin Fan's group a few days ago to investigate other directions! Their bodies were composed of viscous dark energy, emitting a terrifying aura that devoured all life; their strength had actually reached the Early Stage of the World Lord level!

The one commanding this slaughter was none other than Shadow Nightmare, who hovered in mid-air. His face still carried a hint of paleness, but his eyes were even more resentful and crazed! He held a constantly rotating black wheel in his hand, engraved with twisted runes that emitted streaks of black light, enhancing the power of the Nirvana Beasts and suppressing the Domains of Elf and the others.

“Jie jie jie, stubborn resistance! Obediently offer up your Origins and become nourishment for my Lord's revival!” Shadow Nightmare let out a raspy, sinister laugh. The black wheel in his hand shone brilliantly as a thick Nirvana beam shot toward the center of the defensive circle like a venomous dragon!

“Natural Bulwark!” Elf cried out softly as her emerald-green natural Domain expanded with full force, transforming into a massive shield woven from vines and radiance. However, under the impact of the Nirvana beam, the shield rapidly withered and shattered. She herself spat out a mouthful of blood, her Domain swaying violently.

The other two Prodigies were in even greater peril; their Domains were already riddled with holes under the siege of the Black-robed figures and Nirvana Beasts.

It looked as though the defensive circle was about to be completely breached!

“Move!” At this critical juncture, Lin Fan's cold voice exploded like a thunderclap!

He was the first to appear, and without any flourishes, he directly expanded his thousand-zhang Chaos Domain!

“Buzz!” The greyish Chaos Qi swept across the wasteland like a tide, instantly enveloping more than half the battlefield! With the suppression and support of the Chaos Domain, the Alliance members' combat power doubled, while the dark forces were severely weakened. The tide of battle turned instantly!

“Nirvana Rotation!” Shadow Nightmare roared, frantically driving the black wheel in his hand. The wheel spun rapidly, turning into a massive dark vortex in an attempt to swallow Lin Fan's punch force.

“Chii!” The Chaos punch force crashed into the dark vortex. There was no heaven-shaking explosion, only the continuous, tooth-aching sound of erosion and wearing down! Under the impact of the Chaos punch force, the dark vortex twisted violently, its rotation speed plummeted, and cracks even began to appear on its surface! Shadow Nightmare's face changed again; he could feel that his Power of Annihilation was being rapidly assimilated and dismantled by the opponent's strange power!

“How could your power possibly progress so fast?!” Shadow Nightmare was both shocked and enraged. In just a short time, Lin Fan's strength had undergone a qualitative leap. The power level of this Chaos Domain was completely beyond his understanding.

“A frog in a well, how can you know the vastness of heaven and earth?” Lin Fan's tone was indifferent, his punch momentum unchanging. The power of the Chaos Domain within him surged out continuously, augmenting his fist!

A greyish Sword Qi that contained a sharpness like that which created the world instantly condensed—the Chaos Star Sword!

The sword went out soundlessly, yet it seemed to sever Karma and destroy illusions. It instantly crossed the distance between the two, piercing through Shadow Nightmare's brow under his gaze of despair and unwillingness!

“Ugh...” Shadow Nightmare's body froze, the crimson light in his eyes rapidly dimming. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but in the end, his entire body along with his Divine Soul disintegrated inch by inch under the rampage of the Chaos Star Sword Qi like a weathered sand sculpture, turning into the purest dark energy to be completely swallowed and purified by the surrounding Chaos Domain.

The Darkness God Child, Shadow Nightmare, had fallen!
