173: Two wooden doors
“Something’s wrong.”
Shui Yuqianxi had originally thought this place was a spatial rift, similar to the lava land.
However, it felt very wrong.
The card in the red moon in the sky had a red background and floated in mid-air.
It was as if it had already been activated by some entity.
And these people.
Shui Yuqianxi picked up a unconscious figure from the ground, pulled off the hood, revealing a bald head underneath.
This was a human.
Although she didn't know the identity of the person in front of her, Shui Yuqianxi could make a guess.
This was outside the rocket launch base.
She had been suddenly pulled into this world, which was likely the effect of some monster's ability.
And was it possible that all these people were also pulled into this world by a monster?
Was the sudden loss of contact with the action team also the effect of a monster's ability, having been suddenly pulled into this world?
The monster on Fuhou Street had activated an ability similar to this one.
But it was completely different in scale.
The monster on Fuhou Street had merely created a pseudo-reality barrier based on the real world.
Shui Yuqianxi looked at the row of fallen monster-humans behind her, then raised her baseball bat.
The baseball bat transformed again in the water, turning into a realistic little yellow duck hood.
Shui Yuqianxi put the hood on her head.
Disguise, perfect!
She walked out onto the street and began to explore.
The red light cast by the red moon enveloped the entire building complex.
Various neon signs uniformly glowed red.
Occasionally, she encountered a monster-human, but they all seemed to ignore Shui Yuqianxi.
They didn't seem to notice anything unusual.
The monster-humans here were varied: there were horses, donkeys, rabbits, and even crocodiles and cats.
They were all sorts, with no discernible pattern.
As she explored, Shui Yuqianxi discovered that this seemed to be a small city.
The closer she got to the city center, the more monster-humans she encountered, and the livelier the environment became.
Upon reaching the city center, a massive building appeared before Shui Yuqianxi.
It looked like it occupied a quarter of the entire small city.
It could almost fit two football fields.
There were no guards at the entrances and exits, allowing monster-humans to come and go freely.
Shui Yuqianxi adjusted her duck head and walked towards the building's entrance.
The moment she stepped into the building.
A wave of sound assaulted her.
Monster-humans cheered and jostled.
Shui Yuqianxi had already noticed the anomaly; there were too many people.
The entire small city had at least tens of thousands of people.
She suspected that some were fake illusions, while others were real humans.
She walked among the monster-humans, looking towards the center of the venue.
The entire venue was like a football stadium, with tiers of descending spectator stands, ensuring everyone could see the center of the venue.
And in the sunken center of the venue, there was a platform.
On the platform, two monster-humans were battling.
The countless monster-humans in the entire venue were cheering for the battle of the two monster-humans, as if watching a match.
“Run, don’t get close…”
Shui Yuqianxi seemed to hear a faint, unfamiliar voice.
She quickly raised her little yellow duck head; though called a little yellow duck, its appearance was actually closer to the legendary Psyduck.
Her eyes, very intelligent, searched for the source of the sound.
However, she saw no source of the sound, only the crowded monster-humans.
The battle between the two monster-humans had entered a white-hot phase.
Shui Yuqianxi committed the recent voice to memory and continued to watch the battle in the center.
“Roar!”
“Hup!”
Two roars.
In an instant, dark energy surged.
Shui Yuqianxi watched with wide eyes as the two monster-humans, amidst their roars, unleashed monster energy.
Muscles ripped through their clothes, bone armor spread to cover their muscles, and horns and claws broke through their skin.
These were not disguised monsters.
This aura was that of true monsters.
The transformed monsters fought even more fiercely.
The rocky ground continuously shattered under their battle, and rubble flew like bullets from the impact of the fighting.
Shui Yuqianxi watched all of this.
Until one monster fell.
The other monster, covered in wounds, roared excitedly without stopping.
“What on earth is this place?”
Shui Yuqianxi felt a sense of strangeness as she heard the excited cheers of the surrounding monster-humans.
And as this strangeness arose, a red light shone on the highest platform in the entire venue.
It was as if the moonlight from above focused on that platform.
Allowing Shui Yuqianxi to clearly see the hidden seat in the shadow of that towering platform.
The seat was covered in a layer of luxurious red velvet, inlaid with gold thread and jewels, and encompassed in mahogany.
It looked noble and magnificent.
And on the throne sat a man in a suit, leaning back in the seat, his gaze sweeping over the crowd of monster-humans.
Mu Men.
It was Mu Men!
That oppressive feeling, that sense of dominance!
Without a doubt, sitting on that throne was a Mu Men!
Of the five Mu Men represented by Mu Men De Pei's five viscera, Mumenzhuishui and Mu Men Que Rong had already been killed by the second generation.
And sitting here was a new, never-before-seen Mu Men.
Was this place created by his monster ability?
“Don’t look at him!”
The voice sounded again.
The moment the voice rang out, Shui Yuqianxi looked towards where the sound came from.
She wasn't as empty-headed as her yellow duck hood made her appear.
After the voice appeared, her heart had already been focused on it.
However, this time, she still saw nothing.
She pondered, but still looked at the high platform, at that Mu Men.
If this place was created by this Mu Men.
Then battle was unavoidable; she had to seize the opportunity to observe this Mu Men's activities and the monsters around him.
But, necessary vigilance was essential.
Although she didn't know who had been speaking to her, a layer of vigilance had grown within her.
Mu Men did not notice her.
His gaze was indeed surveying the venue, but he did not detect Shui Yuqianxi's scrutiny.
Just as Shui Yuqianxi relaxed, something unexpected happened.
In the darkness behind that Mu Men's chair, a pair of golden eyes lit up, piercing through the countless heads in the entire venue.
Through Shui Yuqianxi's yellow duck hood, they looked directly at Shui Yuqianxi.
A terrifying sense of oppression assailed her.
A suffocating sense of dominance crushed down.
Shui Yuqianxi's pupils constricted, wanting to avert her gaze and hide her figure.
But she was utterly unable to move; her gaze seemed locked by those golden eyes, unable to shift.
She could only meet those golden eyes across the sea of monster-humans.
The figure of the eyes' owner also stepped out from the shadow behind the chair.
He held his head high, one hand on his hip, the other raised, pointing far into the distance at Shui Yuqianxi.
In an instant, Shui Yuqianxi felt as if this figure was right before her.
The fingernail of that finger was pressed against her pupil.
As if in the next moment, it would gouge out her eyes.
Shui Yuqianxi's pupils trembled, and her open eyes could not close no matter what.
A second Mu Men.
Here.
There were two Mu Men!
