127: Educational Plan
In orbit around Kali Star, the Human First Interstellar Fleet silently surrounded the purple-green planet.
The faint blue glow of the antimatter engines had extinguished, replaced by the subtle glimmer of attitude control thrusters maintaining their orbit.
In the strategic command room of the flagship pacific, Commander Li Zhenhua was gazing at the beautiful alien planet before him, though he was not thinking of the scenery; instead, he was contemplating the insurmountable chasm of time that lay between humanity and their home planet.
"5.4 light-years..." Li Zhenhua's fingers tapped lightly against the edge of the porthole as he muttered to himself, "Even light takes more than five years to travel that distance."
Although humanity had achieved a breakthrough in propulsion systems and mastered the powerful energy source of antimatter, in terms of communication technology, they remained locked in the cage of the speed of light, save for the quantum entanglement communicator gifted by the Faleim People located at the Faleim Embassy on Earth.
This meant that the victory report of "Occupation Complete" just sent by the fleet would take approximately 5.4 years to reach Earth, and the Earth Council's next instructions, including decision-making time, would take at least 11 years to return here.
It was fortunate that the fleet had scattered thousands of signal relay satellites along the voyage, otherwise, contacting Earth over such a vast distance would have been a matter of luck.
"During these long eleven years, we are the only law, the only government, and the only representative of Human Civilization here."
Li Zhenhua turned around and looked at the fleet's high-ranking officers and the military advisory group already seated around the round table.
"Everyone, although the Kari Civilization has expressed its willingness to surrender, this is merely the beginning. Conquering the flesh is easy, but conquering the soul is difficult. Before the subsequent colonial fleets and administrative officials from Earth arrive, we must utilize these ten years to thoroughly forge this planet into humanity's backyard."
"We cannot simply act as an occupying force," the Chief of Staff took over, opening a document that had been drafted long ago, titled 'Kari Civilization Assimilation and Integration Strategic Planning', abbreviated as the 'Indoctrination Plan'.
"We must make the Kari People identify with humanity from the bottom of their hearts, worship humanity, and even take pride in becoming vassals of humanity. We must complete the role transition from conqueror to stern father and finally to deity within these ten years."
This plan was extremely detailed, covering all aspects of society including politics, economy, culture, and education, with only one core purpose: to fundamentally erase the possibility of the Kari Civilization developing independently and to lock it firmly onto the chariot of Human Civilization.
"We first need an absolutely secure foothold." The consultant in charge of engineering construction pointed to a vast plain near the equator of Kali Star on the holographic map, "The climate here is pleasant, resources are abundant, and it is only five hundred kilometers away from the kari capital, 【Dawn】, putting it within a perfect deterrent radius."
"We will carve out an area of about one hundred thousand square kilometers here to establish a Human Autonomous Region. Director Raven specifically told me before departure to name the first colony the Spark Special Zone; this will be the settlement for future human immigrants and the highest seat of power on the entire planet."
Within this special zone, humanity will use the engineering robots and advanced technology brought with them to build a futuristic city full of sci-fi charm. This city will feature fusion power plants, anti-gravity transportation networks, holographic entertainment centers, and the most advanced medical facilities.
"We must make this city a paradise on Kali Star," the Chief of Staff added, "Let every kari person see that as long as they follow humanity, they can live a dream-like life. We must use the massive disparity in living standards to shatter their last shred of nostalgia for their own civilization."
"Then we will take over the energy lifeline of Kali Star," said the officer in charge of logistics, "We will shut down their highly polluting and inefficient fossil fuel power plants and unify the power supply with our orbital solar arrays and ground-based fusion power plants. Once they are accustomed to cheap and clean energy, if anyone wants to resist, we only need to pull the power switch, and they will immediately return to the Middle Ages."
"At the same time, we will introduce the human currency system as the general settlement currency. Through trade scissors, we will use our cheap industrial manufactured goods—such as holographic mobile phones, household robots, and synthetic food—to exchange for their minerals, biological resources, and labor. We must make their economic structure completely dependent on us, so they cannot survive without human products."
Finally, there is the thought imprint and cultural reshaping; this is the most critical and ruthless step.
"The education system of the Kari Civilization also needs to be reshaped." A sociologist accompanying the army pushed up his glasses, "History books need to be rewritten. We must tell their next generation that the universe is a dark and malicious Dark Forest, and that the Kari Civilization was once on the verge of extinction, and it was the benevolent and powerful Human Federation fleet that descended to protect them."
"We must promote human languages (Chinese and English), designating them as the official languages and the only languages for higher education. If they do not learn human languages, they will not be able to work in the special zone, earn high salaries, or use advanced equipment."
"We must also utilize their artistic talent," the sociologist pointed to the data on the screen regarding the Kari People's extremely high artistic talent, "Encourage them to create works that praise the friendship between humanity and kari, portraying humanity as the Suiren who brought the fire of civilization. For those kari elites who show obedience and talent, we will grant them the status of honorary citizens, and even allow them to enter the special zone to live, letting them become our spokespeople."
Li Zhenhua listened to these plans and nodded slightly.
"Very good, this is what we must do." He stood up, his gaze like a torch, "During these ten years, we must imprint the 'Human Supremacy' mark deep into the soul of every kari person."
"Now, prepare to land. Let us show these new subjects our power."
Three days later, the kari capital, 【Dawn】.
This city, with its thousands of years of history and full of dark purple domed buildings and artistic atmosphere, was plunged into unprecedented noise and restlessness today.
All streets were cleared, and hundreds of thousands of kari citizens gathered around the Truth Plaza in the center of the city, or were leaning against windows, or standing on rooftops, looking up at the dark purple firmament.
The kari United Government had already issued a public announcement: representatives of the "friends" from the starry sky, the Human Federation, would formally descend today and sign the 'Subordination and Peace Agreement' with the kari government.
For the vast majority of Kari People, the mood was complex; there was fear of the unknown and unwillingness to lose sovereignty, but more of it was an instinctive awe of the strong and confusion about the future.
"What will they look like? Monsters with three heads and six arms?"
"I heard their spaceships are bigger than mountains..."
Just amidst countless whispers, the calm clouds in the sky suddenly rolled violently.
Everyone present did not hear the deafening roar of engines, nor did they see the fire of jet vortices.
A low, thick humming sound came from the zenith; it was the unique sound produced by high-power anti-gravity engines squeezing the air.
Immediately after, the clouds were violently torn apart.
A huge shadow, carrying a suffocating sense of oppression, slowly covered the entire city.
"My god..."
Countless Kari People exclaimed.
It was a huge spaceship.
A steel giant 1800 meters long and 500 meters wide—the pacific.
It did not stop in space but entered the atmosphere directly.
Relying on those several anti-gravity engines at full power, this super warship with a total weight of three million tons, equivalent to the total weight of thousands of skyscrapers, floated against common sense above Dawn City, less than two thousand meters from the ground.
Its streamlined silver-gray armor reflected a cold and sacred radiance under the starlight, and the dense gun ports on both sides of the hull, although in a silent state, still exuded a chilling murderous aura.
And under the hull, the huge anti-gravity force field pushed away the air, forming a gentle but irresistible air pressure, making people on the ground feel that breathing had become heavy.
This was a demonstration of the force of Human Civilization.
In the cognition of the Kari People, spaceships were fragile tin cans that needed huge rockets to push them into the sky.
And this thing in front of them...
It floated above their heads like a mountain, blocking the sunlight and casting a huge shadow.
For the Kari People, whose technological level was still in the 1970s or 1980s of Earth, this had exceeded the category of technology. In the eyes of the simple Kari People, this was simply a miracle.
"Is this the power of the Human Federation?"
On the signing platform of Truth Plaza, the supreme leader of the Kari Civilization looked up at the giant ship above his head. The last trace of unwillingness and humiliation in his heart vanished in an instant.
Replaced by a deep sense of powerlessness.
Facing a civilization that could make steel mountains float in the air, resistance had no meaning.
Soon, a small shuttle flew out from the belly of the pacific, escorted by several 【Hummingbird V-type】 aerospace fighters, and landed steadily in the center of the plaza.
The hatch opened, and Commander Li Zhenhua, wearing a pure white lightweight spacesuit, stepped out, guarded by two rows of Starrealm Army soldiers in exoskeleton power armor.
His pace was steady, his expression solemn, and the aura of a victor and superior exuded from him made all the kari high officials present bow their heads involuntarily.
"I am Commander Li Zhenhua of the Human Federation First Interstellar Fleet."
His voice was sonorous and powerful, and the language was converted into kari text by the translation device clipped to his collar and displayed on the small screen erected on the shoulder of his spacesuit.
"I come on behalf of Human Civilization to bring order, peace, and prosperity to this planet."
The kari leader walked forward tremblingly, holding the scepter symbolizing the highest power of the Kari Civilization in both hands—a paintbrush carved from purple crystal—and respectfully handed it to Li Zhenhua.
"Kari Civilization... accepts all arrangements of the Human Federation."
Li Zhenhua took the scepter, without showing too much arrogance, just nodding slightly.
This scene was recorded by countless cameras, transmitted through television signals throughout the entire Kali Star, and would be transmitted back to Earth in eleven years.
This was a historic moment.
And at the edge of the plaza, former Academy Dean Walker Tala was mixed in the crowd, watching the giant ship floating above his head, tears streaming down his old face.
"Anti-gravity... that is definitely anti-gravity..." He stared blankly at the warship, his eyes filled with both the sorrow of a fallen country and the fanaticism of 'one can die at dusk after hearing the truth in the morning'.
"Even as a slave, as long as I can take a look at such scenery..."
"It's worth it."
