4: Foreword - To New Readers

(The author function is really a headache; the foreword can't be placed before the first three chapters.)

This foreword was written when the book reached 400,000 characters, mainly to address some issues that appeared in the early stages of the book for new readers.

Firstly, humanity instantly observing objects thirteen light-years away is indeed a major bug. However, this bug has become the underlying logic for later plots, making it impossible to change. To change it would likely require completely redoing the first volume. But rest assured, such serious bugs will not appear again in subsequent plots. Descriptions of interstellar warfare, speed of light sensors, or tachyons sensors will all take the speed of light into consideration. Of course, specific calculations will not be listed; I imagine you wouldn't want to see various equations and data piled up while reading a novel.

Secondly, regarding the 'Urban Dragon King' issue mentioned by some readers: if I had to say, only chapters 26 and 27 of this book borrowed that structure. It was originally intended as a seasoning, and such vulgar displays of power will not appear later. However, I was surprised to find that this was a 'poison point' for quite a few people.

The technology tree in this book will largely use the technology tree structure from Stellaris, but many things will be rationalized, and content from other games or sci-fi works will also be integrated. Therefore, technologies with the same name but completely different functions may appear, which requires your attention. Do not over-identify with Stellaris content.

The protagonist, Lei Wen, was indeed just an ordinary person at first, but as the power he wields grows and the responsibilities he shoulders become heavier, he will grow and change. He will strive to transform himself into a qualified civilization helmsman, and this process is accompanied by various psychological shifts and cold-blooded directives. Therefore, the protagonist's character design will not collapse, because character designs are not immutable.

Also, regarding the sister: the protagonist's sister is not the female lead. The only officially designated female lead is Grey Wind. Other females who interact extensively with the protagonist are all 'tool characters,' but considering some people's 'poison points,' there will be no marriage plotlines. In the future, she might become an important scientist or fleet commander, but so far, she has only appeared in a few chapters, essentially non-existent. I haven't decided on the sister's storyline yet; that can wait.

After their encounter, the Faleim Civilization and Human Civilization in this book are akin to two nations under a joint rule established by a monarch, and the protagonist will have absolute control over the Faleim Civilization. So, there's no need to worry about the two sides fighting later; if they did, humanity would be gone in minutes.

Volume One describes the process of Earthlings uniting under alien pressure, striving to advance technology, establish a unified civil government, ultimately stepping into space, and planning interstellar colonization. Some details will be simplified, so it might seem a bit idealistic, but if it weren't, Volume One would take three hundred chapters to finish.

Starting from Volume Two, the book will delve into interstellar politics and warfare. Humanity will cross light-years to conquer another civilization that has not yet entered space, while the Faleim People plan to use the conflict between two constellation-dominant civilizations to completely control the discourse in Orion and Perseus Arm. From this volume onwards, the content of the book truly enters its climax, and it has already received much praise from readers. I hope new readers can make it to Volume Two.
