15: The spooky mountain is perfect for a ghost story.
Zhao Jin instantly relaxed a bit, and let out a chuckle.
If a ghost heard these words, wouldn't it run away quickly?
After chatting for a while, Zhao Jin saw that the two had become more familiar. She remembered the director's instructions—to guide Chen Fang to talk about his gossip and boost viewership!
Zhao Jin glanced at Chen Fang. Asking him directly about gossip, wouldn't that be a bit rude?
It's better to talk about something else first.
"Brother Chen, there are many small animals on the mountain. Do you like small animals?"
Chen Fang nodded, "I like them very much."
"What kind of animals do you like?"
"I like fish the most. Others are okay too."
Hearing him say this, the live stream also started discussing this topic.
"Snake: If you say that, I'm coming."
"Brother is telling the truth, a player likes to raise fish the most. How many has he raised?"
"Is there any way to block Chen Fang's anti-fan comments?"
"I want to block them too. I'm going to leave a message on the Kiwi Fruit official account! I came to watch the beautiful corpse driving, but all I see are his anti-fans. It's so annoying."
"Let's go, I'm going too."
"Heh heh, he knows Zhao Jin likes small animals, so he's deliberately trying to get close to her, right? Brother's heart is a durian, full of people on its thorns."
But on site, Zhao Jin couldn't see the comments, so she didn't think in the direction of him being a player.
She imagined him raising a tank of fish at home, feeding them diligently every day.
She also raises small animals. It is said that people who raise fish have more stable personalities. Indeed, he can still calmly appear on a variety show even after his reputation collapsed. He is quite stable.
Zhao Jin continued to ask, "Brother Chen, how much do you like them?"
Chen Fang thought for a moment, "Enough for every meal."
Zhao Jin blinked, her lips trembling. She wanted to exclaim a beautiful Chinese phrase, but ultimately, due to saving face, she didn't dare to speak.
But the audience in the live stream didn't have to hold back.
"Hahahahaha, he's a living Yama King."
"I like them too. More cumin, less salt. This old monk can't eat too much salt."
"Where are the haters who just called him a simp? People are just chatting normally, and you guys twist everything!"
"It seems to be getting darker and darker, a bit scary."
"Chen Fang's personality is so soft, he's about to lose his act, isn't he? Will he not be able to hold the flashlight later and hide behind the girl out of fear?"
In front of the camera, Chen Fang hadn't yet lost his grip on the flashlight.
Zhao Jin, however, was choked by "enough for every meal," causing her to pause, and her flashlight almost dropped to the ground. Coming back to her senses, she gripped the flashlight tightly.
How come she felt like she was being played? Then... the questions the director wanted her to ask, she would just say them directly!
"Brother Chen, it's a bit scary. Let's chat."
"Mmm, what do you want to talk about?" Chen Fang nodded slightly and walked with her out of the small path beside the cornfield.
In front of them appeared the landmark on the route card—a stilt house abandoned for many years.
The wooden two-story stilt house stood on a overgrown clearing, faintly visible in the night, like a huge shadow crouching on the ground.
All around was silent, with only the wind whistling lightly through the gaps in the wooden boards. The air was filled with the smell of damp earth and decaying wood. A gust of wind brought a pungent smell of mold.
Chen Fang glanced at the route card. Next, they had to go around the back of the stilt house and enter the woods, where they might encounter non-venomous snakes placed by the crew.
Confirming the target, Chen Fang continued to walk forward, holding the green flashlight. The wooden planks under his feet creaked, and the weeds brushed against his ankles, like tentacles gently rubbing against him.
"Brother Chen... it's a bit eerie here. How about we talk, talk about your stories? Let's distract ourselves?" Zhao Jin's breathing was a bit heavy.
Chen Fang glanced at her.
Zhao Jin must have received a task from the production team, right? But she didn't say what kind of story of his she wanted to hear, so how was he supposed to tell her?
She seemed a little scared? As teammates, they should be united, friendly, and help each other now.
Chen Fang nodded, "Okay, then I'll tell you a story. You won't be scared after listening to it."
"I," Zhao Jin cleared her throat and raised her chin, "I'm not scared at all. It's just... a little cold."
Chen Fang held the eerie green flashlight and walked along the side of the stilt house. The stones on the ground glowed green as he began to speak:
"Once, when I was exploring in the wilderness, night fell and I arrived at an inn. It was a two-story building standing in the middle of nowhere. When I went in and asked, the boss said there was only one room left, so I had no choice but to stay."
"The boss warned me not to turn over the book on the table."
"I walked into the room and found a book indeed placed in front of the mirror. Unable to resist my curiosity, I opened the first page. It read—The ghost is already downstairs."
To the right of the two, the wooden planks of the stilt house creaked, as if something was truly stepping on them.
"Ah!" Zhao Jin, walking on the right, instantly shivered, jumped to the left, and firmly grabbed Chen Fang's arm. The force was so great that Chen Fang immediately thought of two words to describe his identity in her heart—meat shield. If a ghost really appeared, she would probably throw him over.

[Guo Congxin's negative emotion value +166]
[Jiang Hua's negative emotion value +66]
Well... let her pinch, who made her give the most experience.
Chen Fang laughed, "It's not a horror story."
Zhao Jin seemed to realize her behavior was inappropriate and awkwardly withdrew her hand, "Sorry, this building is quite cooperative, huh."
Chen Fang continued to speak:
"Then I turned to the second page, which read: The ghost is coming upstairs. And then the third page: The ghost is already at your door. Immediately after, there was a banging sound on the door."
As he said this, Chen Fang heard Guo Congxin's gasp behind him. He stopped, holding the flashlight, and slowly turned around.
The next moment, in the live stream, in the dark night, his eerie green face appeared beside the dark yellow stilt house.
"Ah!!!"
"Holy crap! Chen Fang, hahahahahahaha."
"Damn it, you made me drop my phone."
"No, I came to see him scared, not for him to scare me (ಥ ﹏ ಥ)"
"Why scare people? If you don't give a reason today, just wait to be blacklisted!"
However, almost none of the people brave enough to watch this far were extremely timid. Many were startled but their first reaction was to laugh. Only a few anti-fans kept asking for a reason.
But the next moment, Chen Fang gave his reason for turning around to the camera.
Beside the stilt house, Chen Fang looked at the two cameramen, "Why are you two scared? Which ghost movie have you seen where ghosts bite cameramen?"
Guo Congxin blinked, a bit confused. Don't say it, there's some truth to that.
Chen Fang ignored him, turned back, and continued walking, saying, "I didn't dare to turn further down, so I kept turning to the first, second, and third pages, first, second, third pages, first, second, third pages... Suddenly, I accidentally turned to the fourth page. A blank page slowly revealed a line of text—"
Zhao Jin's eyes widened slightly, and she grabbed his arm.
"It said..." Chen Fang, grabbed through his sleeve, didn't feel intimate, but he did feel that her strength was quite considerable. He grunted and continued, "The ghost has been exhausted to death by you."
