201: Chapter 201 Extremely Strange Energy

However, Su Taotao, who was in the middle of the fight, felt more and more that something was wrong.

She had indeed absorbed a significant amount of Red Snake's power through her Devouring Domain and the recent clash of skills,

but after this power entered her body, instead of being converted into pure Taotie Power to strengthen herself as usual,

it felt like drops of scalding poisonous oil, constantly eroding and polluting her meridians and spiritual power, making her spiritual circulation sluggish and painful, and her chest feel tight!

Her strength was decreasing instead of increasing!

"What's going on?!"

Su Taotao's small face turned slightly pale, fine beads of sweat oozing from her temples, and her movements inevitably slowed by a beat.

Chen Yi had clearly said that Taotie Power should be able to devour anything and turn it into its own!

Why was it ineffective against this woman's power, feeling instead as if she had swallowed poison?

Chen Yi would never lie to her!

But what exactly was happening?

As a Demon Empress, Red Snake possessed incredibly rich combat experience and keenly seized Su Taotao's momentary opening.

The red glow in her eyes flashed suddenly, and her offensive became even more fierce!

"Karmic Fire Whip!"

With a flick of Red Snake's wrist, a black-red Karmic Fire Whip appeared out of thin air. From an extremely tricky angle, it bypassed the spoon Su Taotao used for blocking and lashed viciously toward her waist!

Crack!

A crisp cracking sound rang out.

Su Taotao couldn't dodge in time, and her waist was struck hard by the tip of the whip!

Even her battle skirt in Armed Form was scorched with a charred mark, and a surge of searing energy began to frantically drill into her body!

"Ugh!"

Su Taotao groaned in pain, feeling a burning sensation from the wound.

Even more terrifying was that the invading energy was rampaging through her meridians, destroying everything in its path, causing her blood to churn and her spiritual power to nearly grind to a halt!

She stumbled and retreated repeatedly, clearly falling into a disadvantage!

"Tao Tao!"

"Are you okay?"

"Damn it, what on earth is that black-robed woman's ability?"

Inside the barrier, The girls cried out in alarm, their faces filled with worry.

The bullet chat in the livestream also became tense instantly.

[Tao Tao is hurt!]

[Is she really no match? After all, the opponent made it to second place; Tao Tao might have been carried there by others—]

[No! Look closely! Tao Tao is just at a disadvantage, but she's still holding on! For a female streamer to trade blows with such a monster until now is already insane, okay!]

[Go Tao Tao! Hang in there!]

[—]

Seeing this, Bai Song felt greatly reassured, and the last shred of worry vanished!

He hadn't made a move earlier, mainly fearing he might be humiliated by Chen Yi again; if that happened, he might as well not live!

But now, Red Snake could suppress Chen Yi's Contracted Spirit Beast, proving he had been overthinking!

If the Contracted Spirit Beast was inferior to Red Snake, didn't that say it all?

Maybe the first place in the Sequence Competition was achieved through some cheating method!

At this thought, the arrogant and twisted smile on Bai Song's face grew even more intense.

It was time for him to act personally, end this farce completely, and crush Chen Yi under his feet!

"Chen Yi! See that? Your woman is finished! Next it's your turn! I'll make you kneel and watch her get torn to pieces with your own eyes!"

Bai Song laughed wildly as the eerie energy within him erupted!

Black-red flame-like energy gushed from his body, enveloping him completely and emitting a heart-palpitating pressure as he charged aggressively toward Chen Yi!

The ground he passed was even melted and cracked by the energy radiating from him!

According to the rules of the Beast Taming Contest qualifiers, one only needs to defeat the opposing Beast Tamer to win!

But he didn't want it to end so quickly.

He wanted to slowly humiliate Chen Yi in front of the national audience, grinding all of Chen Yi's dignity and pride into the mud to vent the anger in his heart!

"Die! Explosive Demonic Flame Bomb!"

In Bai Song's right palm, a dark red fireball had somehow condensed and was continuously expanding.

With a swing of his arm, he violently hurled the fireball, which emitted an ominous aura, at Chen Yi.

Wherever the fireball passed, the air was scorched into a distorted blur!

At this moment, most of Chen Yi's attention was still on the battle between Su Taotao and Red Snake.

The analysis results just provided by the system made him frown slightly.

"System, why is this happening to Tao Tao? Can a Taotie not even devour the power of a Demon Empress?"

[Not so!]

[A Taotie can devour all things in the world; there is nothing that cannot be devoured!]

[However, the energy possessed by the target carries characteristics such as intense mental pollution, soul burning, and energy erosion!]

[Su Taotao has indeed devoured the target's energy and gained a certain boost in power!]

[But this boost is inferior to the damage that energy causes to the physical body, which is why her strength is decreasing!]

[Once Su Taotao's level and spiritual power increase, and the power boost exceeds the destructive force of this energy, she will be able to easily suppress it!]

"I see!"

Chen Yi nodded. "No wonder Tao Tao is at a disadvantage—"

It's actually like DOT damage and HOT healing in some online games.

As long as the continuous damage is less than the continuous healing, the health bar will keep rising, and vice versa!

It's just that currently, Su Taotao is in a situation where the HOT healing is lower than the DOT damage!

The more of Red Snake's power she devours, the lower her own strength becomes!

It must be said that for Su Taotao, it's truly problematic once she can't devour the opponent's power!

Just then, Bai Song's flame bomb flew in front of Chen Yi.

However, facing Bai Song's Explosive Demonic Flame Bomb, which could easily blow a Rank 4 Beast Tamer to bits.

Chen Yi only gave it a casual glance, his eyes showing little emotion.

As if looking at a floating soap bubble, he dodged it with a simple sidestep!

Bai Song's power growth was indeed eerily fast; the quantitative change had even triggered a qualitative one, resulting in very high spiritual power!

But... overall, it was still superficial, with an unstable foundation and lack of order; he had a majestic aura, but the actual density of his energy was a mess.

He was likely a typical case of someone who had recently stumbled upon power but hadn't fully mastered it.

The pressure he exerted wasn't even as strong as that guy who used the "Lightness Skill: Water Treading" before!

"Humph! Just putting on a show!"

Seeing Chen Yi dodge the attack so nonchalantly, a flash of surprise crossed Bai Song's eyes.

But that was just a feint anyway, so it didn't matter!

He condensed flames in both hands and slammed them onto the ground.

"Blazing Demonic Cage!"

Boom! Boom! Boom—

Several black-red pillars of fire erupted from the ground around Chen Yi, instantly weaving into a massive cage of flames that trapped him in the center!

Countless flaming chains also crawled out from underground, attempting to bind Chen Yi!
