37: Chapter 37 is definitely not targeting me?

"Hiss hiss hiss—"

Seeing Chen Yi repeat the same trick once more, attracting a large wave of insect tide and then resolving it in just a few moves,

everyone watching was dumbfounded once again.

Dammit, when others face a few second-rank Demonic Beasts, they might have to be extremely cautious, as if treading on thin ice.

But you, on the other hand, it's as if you're here to stock up on goods, continuously drawing in insect tides, killing them, and then collecting points balls and magic beast crystal cores.

Does it have to be this ridiculous?

"Wait, have you guys noticed? This Chen Yi seems to even have a space ring?"

"I noticed it long ago! Otherwise, where would all those points balls and magic beast crystal cores go after he just wiped out an entire insect tide?"

"It seems Chen Yi's identity isn't simple either! To be able to get a space ring, his background is definitely not that of an ordinary person!"

---

At this time, Wang Yu, having finished dealing with his business, finally arrived at the academy.

However, upon hearing the report from his subordinates, he was immediately struck as if by lightning, becoming completely dazed.

"What did you say? Chen Yi even contracted Luo Qinghe's granddaughter? And he wiped out an insect tide in an instant?"

"Yes! Luo Qinghe is in the observation hall right now; it's truly terrifying!"

"Dammit!!!"

Wang Yu's expression instantly became extremely ugly. He clenched his fists tightly, cursing inwardly.

Originally, he had Ning Yan partner with Qin Shousheng just to increase Qin Shousheng's chances of winning.

After all, Lin Mengxue had even been able to defeat a fourth-rank Forest Giant before. With just the strengthened Liu Ruyan, it would likely be difficult to defeat her.

So, just to be safe, Wang Yu specifically added insurance: while Liu Ruyan pinned down Lin Mengxue, Ning Yan would assassinate Chen Yi.

But who could have imagined that this scoundrel Chen Yi would actually contract another Spirit Beast?

And it's a Spirit Beast capable of defeating an insect tide single-handedly!

This way, it would likely be very difficult to make a move on Chen Yi anymore.

Of course, Ning Yan had one more crucial task, which was to kill Qin Shousheng after the deed was done.

Otherwise, if an investigation followed, it would be easy to trace it back to himself.

No matter what, all unstable factors had to be eliminated!

But looking at it now, the gap in strength was simply too large.

If Qin Shousheng acted rashly and alerted the enemy, or was even seen by Luo Qinghe, then he would surely be dead!

"Go notify Ning Yan immediately and tell her to deal with Qin Shousheng and Liu Ruyan together! Move fast!"

"Yes! I'll go arrange it right now!"

Watching the back of his subordinate as he left, the unease in Wang Yu's heart grew stronger.

He gritted his teeth and cursed inwardly, "Dammit! If I had known, I shouldn't have touched this hot potato. I failed to catch the chicken and lost the rice instead—what exactly is this Chen Yi's identity? To think even Luo Qinghe is willing to marry his granddaughter to him?"

At this moment, his Contracted Spirit Beast, Chu Qingze, leaned in and whispered, "Let's leave Jiangcheng! Even if Qin Shousheng and the others all die, as long as the Luo family has the intent, it's only a matter of time before they track us down! Since it's now certain that Chen Yi is related to the Luo family, don't get involved in this matter in the future."

Wang Yu nodded, "Of course I know that! I'll go make arrangements now. Transfer all those goods in Jiangcheng to Han City together; there must be no mistakes!"

"Yes!!!"

---

"Can't we make this Chen Yi withdraw from the assessment?"

"Yeah! So what if he's first place? We'll provide the rewards!"

"If he keeps going like this, sooner or later someone will lose their life because of them!"

In the observation hall, a crowd of parents was also petitioning the principal of Jiangcheng Beast Taming Academy.

The principal looked helplessly at the parents before him, laughing bitterly in his heart several times.

For no other reason.

Chen Yi completely ignored the usual path and just kept plucking the Gray-Winged Beetles, causing a wave of insect tide every time.

Sometimes, because of the insect tide, some Demonic Beasts were frightened and charged frantically toward the outer areas, causing a small-scale Monster Tide.

As of now, ten pairs of Beast Tamer combinations have already used their teleportation crystals to leave the assessment.

Among them, eight pairs were forced out because of the insect tides and Monster Tides caused by Chen Yi!

And this was only the first day.

If another two days passed, heaven knows what other bizarre actions Chen Yi would take.

Hearing this, the principal also laughed bitterly several times.

"This is difficult to handle!"

"What's so difficult? If it's difficult, then don't let Chen Yi play like that anymore!"

Hearing this, the principal glanced at Luo Qinghe.

Luo Qinghe nodded silently, also understanding in his heart that Chen Yi's behavior might cause some unnecessary trouble.

He had already successfully recorded the brilliant scene of Luo Shiyin showing off her skills, which was more than enough.

"Fine, I'll go issue a notice in a moment!"

"Hurry up, don't let this Chen Yi keep making such a mess!"

---

Time passed in the blink of an eye, and it was now seven in the evening.

Chen Yi's group also successfully made it back to the resting area before the deadline.

The only pity was that they didn't encounter any so-called third-rank BOSS challenge monsters.

They were probably cleared out by Beast Tamers in other places, right?

Along the way, they saw many Beast Tamers and Spirit Beasts; however, most were covered in wounds, black and blue all over, looking as though they had encountered many difficulties during their crusade.

"Damn, how can we be so unlucky! To actually encounter a small-scale Monster Tide even here, sigh!"

"You encountered it too? I also met one over at the Loess Slope in the east. Truly bad luck!"

"Is it that bad? But since the school didn't step in to stop it, it's highly likely it was intentionally designed to simulate the occurrence of a normal Monster Tide, right? It's truly terrifying!"

"Yeah! Fortunately, the numbers weren't large, and there were several other Beast Tamer combinations around me; otherwise, I definitely would have had to use a teleportation crystal to escape!"

Listening to the discussions of the students on the road, the three in Chen Yi's group were also stunned for a moment.

There was actually a Monster Tide in the assessment area?

But why didn't they encounter it?

Every time they finished clearing a nest with Breath of Ice and wiped out a Gray-Winged Beetle tide, they had to fly several kilometers to continue chumming the water.

It could simply be described as a huge pain!

If there was a Monster Tide, they could completely skip the chumming step!

Thinking of this, Chen Yi was also prepared to go forward and ask exactly where the Monster Tide had occurred.

However, just then, the broadcast in the resting area suddenly rang out.

"Attention everyone, attention everyone!"

"In the next two days of the assessment, a new rule will be temporarily added!"

"No one shall gather Demonic Beasts through any method. Violators will have their assessment qualification and rewards canceled!"

"As compensation, all Beast Tamer combinations that enter the top one hundred will be able to receive an additional ten second-rank magic beast crystal cores!"

"We hope everyone will provide their support!"

Hearing this, Chen Yi almost spat out a mouthful of old blood.

Not allowed to gather Demonic Beasts? How the hell is he supposed to play then?

Is he supposed to kill them one by one instead?

"Holy crap, are you sure this isn't targeted at me?"
