103: Chapter 103 We've Been Waiting for You

"Are you a member of the Wang Family?"

The old Loose Cultivator shook his head desperately, his voice turning shrill and out of tune due to terror.

"No! No! How could someone dressed like this old man be a member of the Wang Family? This humble one is truly just a Loose Cultivator! I have no relation to the Wang Family!"

"Then why are you here?"

"It's the Fa— No, no, no, it's the Wang Family! The Wang Family lets us Loose Cultivators live here and Cultivate here, as long as we don't cause trouble! This old man simply settled down here, and truly didn't anything—"

"First Leader, I've also heard about this. The Wang Family indeed intends to win over Loose Cultivators. Quite a few Loose Cultivators live near the Wang Family, and they even opened a market."

"Win over Loose Cultivators? Do Loose Cultivators even need to be won over?"

Loose Cultivators have always been summoned at will and dismissed at a wave; give them a few benefits and they will work for you. Winning over Loose Cultivators is simply laughable.

Heisha interrupted his useless words, raising his hand as a pale green flame surged from his palm, forcibly ripping the old Loose Cultivator's soul out of his body.

That soul screamed miserably in his palm, twisting and struggling, its shrill voice sounding less than human.

"I'll talk! I'll talk!" The soul screamed in agony under the scorching of the true fire, its voice intermittent.

"Actually, my relationship with the Wang Family isn't good at all! It's just convenient to sell some things here!"

"Senior, your return is truly a coincidence! The main force of the Wang Family just went out a moment ago! I don't know what they went to do! They all left!"

Heisha raised an eyebrow: "All of them left? What about those at the Foundation Establishment Stage?"

"Neither of the two Foundation Establishment Immortal Masters is here! Neither is at the encampment! I beg Senior to spare me! I beg Senior to let my soul depart! Everything I said is true— Ah!!!"

Heisha clenched his five fingers, crushing that soul to pieces.

He patted the residual soul-fire debris on his hands, turning his head to look at Lotus Pier shrouded by the pale cyan light barrier at the top of the mountain.

The light barrier flowed endlessly, and the grand protective Formation was indeed fully activated.

Heisha grinned, a trace of understanding flashing in his eyes. If not for the Family being hollowed out, how could the Wang Family fully activate the grand protective Formation in the dead of such a peaceful night?

This instead was like hiding three hundred taels of silver here, substantiating the old Loose Cultivator's words.

In his eyes, this first-rank Formation was as good as nonexistent. With the array-breaking hammer in hand, even a second-rank Formation could not stop him.

Furthermore, if the Wang Family truly had a Foundation Establishment expert holding down the fort, how could they only open a first-rank grand array to put up a false front?

He grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth, gripped the bronze short hammer on his shoulder in his hand, and strode toward the top of the mountain.

"A god-sent opportunity! This time, we'll earn two shares of money. Follow me up."

The night was like ink. Outside the mountain gate of Lotus Pier, a dark shadow silently clung to the edge of the light barrier of the grand protective Formation.

Heisha gripped the bronze short hammer in his hand. The hammer body was barely a foot long, yet it was carved with densely packed array-breaking runes, emitting a chilling light under the moonlight.

Gathering his spiritual power, he smashed the hammer onto the light barrier. The runes on the hammer body suddenly flared brightly, and that layer of pale cyan light barrier silently melted open a human-sized hole. Its edges were as smooth as a mirror, and not even a trace of spiritual power fluctuation leaked out.

A top-grade array-breaking Magical Artifact, truly deserving of its reputation.

Twenty dark shadows filed in like ghosts, landing on the bluestone path inside Lotus Pier. The surroundings remained dead quiet, with only a few sporadic insect chirps in the distance.

Heisha scanned the deserted courtyard, a ferocious smile emerging at the corner of his mouth. He hoisted the array-breaking hammer onto his shoulder and simply stopped lowering his voice.

"Did you see that? This is an immortal-cultivating Family accustomed to comfort. The Formation is on, but there isn't even a night watchman. They're probably still having sweet dreams in their blankets."

Third Leader crowded over, raising his thumb with a flattering expression.

"Big Brother's array-breaking hammer is truly miraculous! Even a second-rank Formation can't stop it; mere first-rank grand protective Formations are like paper in front of Big Brother."

"Those idiots from the Wang Family wagered their entire Family fortune on the side of the Ning Family, leaving their old nest for us to raid. Doing this business is even more comfortable than robbing caravan groups in the Monster Mountain Range."

Several bandit cultivators nearby also chuckled along, their laughter filled with disdain and certainty.

Heisha patted Third Leader's shoulder and strode toward the inner courtyard, his eyes already calculating the location of the warehouse: "Move fast! Find the warehouse and leave as soon as you take the things. If you encounter any living people, show no mercy. If you encounter those at the Foundation Establishment Stage—"

Before he finished speaking, his steps suddenly halted.

They had already walked a fair distance inward, passing through three corridors and two side courtyards, yet Lotus Pier remained dead quiet, without even seeing a night-patrol lantern.

This was too quiet—so quiet that it didn't resemble the encampment of an immortal-cultivating Family, but rather like an abandoned residence that had long been cleared out.

Heisha's brow knitted together. The intuition honed from years of licking blood from the edge of a blade sounded an alarm in his mind.

He slowly gripped the array-breaking hammer and said in a deep voice: "Something's wrong."

Just the moment his voice fell, a booming laugh exploded from the darkness ahead.

"We've been waiting for you for a long time!"

Torches lit up in unison, illuminating the surroundings as bright as day.

Wang Yaowu strode down from the stone steps of the inner courtyard, his heavy sword propped against the ground. The spiritual light on the sword blade reflected his eyes filled with Killing Intent.

Behind him, dozens of Wang Family members left behind holding Magical Artifacts surged out from various shadows. On the courtyard walls, roofs, and under the corridors were all Wang Family members who had been waiting here for a long time.

Their Formations were strict and filled with Killing Intent; how could there be the slightest trace of panic?

At the same time, more than twenty streams of spiritual light lit up from various places, and a pre-arranged trapping-and-killing grand array rose from the inside, entirely enveloping Heisha's group along with the entire courtyard.

Pale golden array patterns flowed beneath their feet. Unlike the grand protective Formation, this Formation's aura was sharp and violent, designed specifically to slaughter intruders.

Heisha's expression changed instantly.

He stared fixedly at Wang Yaowu, scanned the orderly-positioned Wang Family members around, and then looked at the murderous trapping array above his head—they had fallen for a trap.

From start to finish, it was all a setup.

Every single word that old Loose Cultivator said was fake; the Wang Family was inviting them into the urn.

He clenched his teeth, his voice so gloomy as if it were ground out from between his teeth: "Good trick! Was that old fellow intentionally left behind by you? What did you use to threaten him? Spirit Stones? Medicinal Pills? Or the lives of his entire Family?"

He sneered, his gaze carving back and forth across Wang Yaowu's face, "Everyone says the Wang Family is benevolent and righteous, my ass."

Wang Yaowu didn't speak, only watching him coldly.

In the darkness, more figures surged out from all directions.

Not Wang Family members—it was Loose Cultivators, dozens of Loose Cultivators, old and young, male and female, with cultivations ranging from the first layer to the fifth layer of Qi Refining. They wore washed-out coarse cloth garments and held rusted iron swords and hunting knives in their hands.

They walked out silently, surrounding Heisha's group tightly. There was no fear on their faces, no hesitation, only a determination akin to walking to their deaths.
