18: Chapter 18 New Exploration Zone and Team Members

On the afternoon of April 8th, Coach Chen Zhenhua brought two men and one woman to the Changnan Interstellar company.

As the inviter, Wang An introduced the four of them to Captain Wang Quan, the leader of the Exploration Team.

Returning to the company office area, he sought out Manager Hu and said:

"Have the purchaser buy four more sets of wilderness survival gear. I brought four archery coaches today.

They are all experts at archery and will be participating in our upcoming operation.

Also, register them under our Exploration Team as external personnel.

Make sure their equipment is fully prepared, and apply for the permits to enter the Forbidden Zone as soon as possible."

Manager Hu was a bit puzzled upon hearing this and asked:

"Boss, these archery coaches don't have any wilderness experience!"

"It's fine. I'll have Captain Wang Quan conduct intensive training for them over the next few days."

Hearing the boss say this, he didn't say anything more about the matter.

He began to report on the company's newly determined exploration location.

He opened his computer, pulled up a map, pointed to it, and said:

"Here at Huangyushan, based on public information, photos, and video statistics, at least 200 meteorites have landed.

In Huang Family Village, which goes deep into the area, relevant departments have already set up a dedicated station.

According to feedback from local villagers, four or five Exploration Teams have already entered the area."

Generally, when going out, they bring enough food for 7 days and return to the camp for supplies when they are about to run out.

Therefore, the logistics supply base cannot be too far from the target area, otherwise, resupplying will be inconvenient, and a lot of time will be wasted going back and forth.

But it cannot be too close either; if an accident occurs deep in the forest, it is difficult for non-combat personnel to receive rescue."

After finishing the report on the new exploration zone, Manager Hu began to describe the preliminary exploration plan they had formulated.

"This area has many meteorite landing sites, and they are very scattered and the terrain is complex. Furthermore, it is located within a nature reserve, so there may be quite a few Mutant creatures. Therefore, we plan for this exploration to last at least 15 days.

We contacted local villagers to understand the situation of other Exploration Teams, and the feedback is that members of two Exploration Teams have already been attacked and sent back to the village.

Therefore, if we rely solely on Captain Wang Quan to explore, the required exploration time will be very long.

It is highly likely that he will be attacked by various creatures, and it is very difficult for one person to handle it alone.

The people you brought, by joining our Exploration Team, will greatly improve our search efficiency and firepower.

This way, even if we face swarms of Mutant creatures, we will have the strength to put up a fight."

Wang An nodded and reminded Manager Hu:

"Don't have too high expectations for them. Some people don't know the dangers inside the forest and may still hold some romanticized illusions; after a few days, they might start clamoring to go back.

Therefore, we still have to rely on ourselves and prepare for the worst.

It's possible they won't be able to adapt and will return on the very first day, so we must be prepared for a protracted war."

Manager Hu nodded, indicating he understood.

"The funds from the Recovery Bureau arrived today.

Manager Hu, you can prepare the information for recruiting members to go into the mountains.

This recruitment is to train our own Exploration Team members, so we would rather have fewer people than accept subpar ones.

We will provide sufficient salary and benefits, but we also require them to be familiar with the forest and be able to distinguish various poisonous insects and plants.

They must have rich wilderness survival experience and be young and strong; we don't want those who are fifty or sixty years old.

In case of any emergency, they would just hold us back.

This time, we don't require combat capability; being able to serve as logistics personnel, expand our search range, and improve efficiency is enough.

Additionally, find our legal advisor to draft a specialized employment contract for the Exploration Team members.

The company's training and the members' obligations must be written in, and they must sign a non-compete agreement; we can't have them running off to other companies once we've trained them into talent."

In fact, Manager Hu had long wanted to recruit more Exploration Team members.

But this kind of work is, firstly, very dangerous, and not many people are willing to do it.

Secondly, there are too few people who meet the criteria, making it hard to recruit suitable candidates.

This time, since the boss has proposed increasing personnel and lowered the requirements for members slightly, he should be able to find a few suitable ones.

Manager Hu thought for a moment and asked Wang An:

"Boss, how many should we recruit this time?"

Wang An calculated that the entire company's monthly expenditure on employee salaries was around 100,000.

Plus other material procurement, equipment purchasing, and maintenance, which was another 80,000 to 90,000, totaling nearly 200,000.

"Let's recruit two reserve members first; they can train with those archery coaches initially.

Later, when there is time, we can provide specialized skills training, and they will be the backbone of the future Exploration Team."

Manager Hu recorded these requirements and prepared to start recruiting tomorrow.

After thinking for a while and having nothing else to instruct, he returned to his rented room to move some of his belongings to the villa in the suburbs.

Wang An's Incarnation, Captain Wang Quan, began conducting the most basic wilderness survival training for these four people.

Captain Wang Quan sized up these people for a moment; there were three men and one woman.

Among them, Coach Chen was the oldest at over forty, the young woman was the youngest at 28, and the other two men were in their thirties.

He then spoke up:

"I am Captain Wang Quan, the leader of this Exploration Team.

Since you have joined the Exploration Team, we are now teammates. Let's introduce ourselves first."

Coach Chen Zhenhua spoke first: "Captain, hello, my name is Chen Zhenhua."

The other two men, the tall one was Hu Jun, and the shorter one was Li Guohua.

These two introduced themselves, saying they became coaches after retiring as athletes and had rich experience in teaching and using the Compound Bow.

The young woman said:

"Captain, I am Mo Yuemei. I am currently an archer for our provincial team and also work part-time as a coach at a club.

Well, I have some understanding of the Compound Bow, and I can pick it up quickly within a few days."

Captain Wang Quan asked in surprise:

"Mo Yuemei, what made you think of joining our exploration operation this time? Are you clear about the dangers of the forest?"

This Mo Yuemei had a slim figure and stood as straight as a pine tree.

Her skin was wheat-colored, and she wore her hair in a high ponytail, looking spirited and dashing.

Mo Yuemei felt that this captain thought she was one of those weak, helpless girls.

She immediately said loudly:

"I am clear about it. I came specifically for this danger; if there were no danger, I wouldn't have come."

Captain Wang Quan didn't know how much she really understood, so he said:

"Wait a moment, I will take you to understand just how dangerous the Mutant creatures I've encountered before are.

If you want to quit, you can do so at any time."

Since the introductions were finished, Captain Wang Quan took them to a conference room in the company.

He took out a detailed introductory document about the Forbidden Zone that the company had compiled based on the footage of Mutant creatures that Captain Wang Quan had encountered previously.

First, it was about understanding the biggest threat in the Forbidden Zone: Mutant creatures.

"According to the information currently released by the state and the information collected by our company,

any creature has the potential to become a Mutant creature.

Some creatures have increased in size, some have increased toxicity, and others have had their original abilities greatly enhanced."
