29: Chapter 29 Allies? Enemies and Scoundrels!

Virtual Divine Domain No. 23, grassland map.

A group of troops was stationed on the vast, boundless grassland.

This troop consisted of two legions from official participants, with Blue-blood Ogres and Behemoth Beastmen as their subordinate races. The number of subordinates had already exceeded three thousand, including many hero units and advanced siege equipment.

The perimeter of the camp was covered in blood, looking as if a great battle had just taken place.

Inside the camp, oversized iron cauldrons were set up, boiling with strange flesh. The Behemoth Beastmen were sharpening their battle axes, while the Blue-blood Ogres lay on the ground, fast asleep.

Beside one of the cauldrons, a blue-skinned Ogre could not resist its hunger. It stretched out a large hand, completely ignoring the high temperature, and grabbed a large, bloody bone to gnaw on.

This act of stealing food also drew the attention of other Ogres, and the scene immediately descended into chaos.

Just then, a huge pillar of light rose not far outside the camp.

The suddenly appearing pillar of light immediately attracted the attention of the subordinates in the camp, who picked up their weapons and entered combat readiness one after another.

Two figures walked out of the pillar of light; they were none other than Chen Jianfeng and Chu Gehang, who had triggered the teleportation array.

Chen Jianfeng noticed the enemies surrounding them. He held his sword in one hand, standing before everyone, his aura steadily rising until it reached a terrifying level.

Chu Gehang clapped his hands together, then drew a verdant green wooden vine sword from his palm, expanding his divine sense to lock onto all the enemies.

Just as both sides were poised for battle, the ranks of Blue-blood Ogres and Behemoth Beastmen automatically parted, and two hero subordinates stepped out from within.

One was a Behemoth Beast King wearing black iron armor and carrying a strange combat weapon at his waist, and the other was a two-headed Ogre holding a massive refined iron warhammer, its body covered in obscure runes.

The aura emitted by these two hero subordinates was not at all weaker than that of Chen Jianfeng and his companion.

However, there was not a trace of killing intent on these two hero-level subordinates, which was the reason why Chen Jianfeng and Chu Gehang had not yet made a move.

The Behemoth Beast King took a step forward, then pulled a piece of animal hide map from his embrace and unfolded it.

Seeing that animal hide map, Chu Gehang seemed to realize something, so he took out the map he had obtained from the Armored War Bear.

The Behemoth Beast King nodded, waved his hand to signal his subordinates to put away their weapons, and said in a deep voice, "Two brothers, put your weapons away first; we are not your enemies."

Hearing this, Chen Jianfeng and Chu Gehang exchanged a glance.

Chen Jianfeng transmitted his voice: 'So they have mistaken us for companions. Elder Chu, what do you think? I can strike at any time.'

Chu Gehang thought for two seconds and responded: 'Let's play along for now. I didn't expect these gods to have already prepared alliances before entering the secret realm. Let's gather some intelligence for Lord Immortal first.'

After that sequence which was like exchanging secret codes, Chu Gehang understood what he had obtained from the Armored White Bear; it was a map marking the locations of enemies.

Chen Jianfeng sighed, 'Alright, it's just a pity; I thought we might find some great treasure of the secret realm.'

'Swordmaster Chen, that is not necessarily true.' Chu Gehang nodded slightly, signaling Chen Jianfeng to look ahead, 'I cannot perceive the existence of the long saber at the waist of that red-skinned monster, nor the obsidian necklace around the neck of the blue-skinned fatty.'

'It possesses a trace of Lord Immortal's aura; it seems to be a great treasure bestowed by a god.' A smile appeared on the corner of Chen Jianfeng's mouth.

The Behemoth Beast King noticed the two men's gazes on his waist and proudly adjusted the battle saber at his waist, as if afraid they wouldn't see it.

'Let's go inside; maybe we can see other treasures.'

'Sure.'

After the transmission ended, Chu Gehang said with a cold face, "Lead the way. Let me see your base camp and the upcoming plans so I can bring my troops over."

The Behemoth Beast King's face darkened. Chu Gehang's bluntness made him feel uncomfortable, but thinking of the words his god had given him, he held back.

The Behemoth Beast King turned around, his voice carrying a hint of threat, "The two of you, please follow me, but please take note, our subordinates are not exactly kind-hearted."

The two men ignored the Behemoth Beast King's words and walked forward on their own.

When passing in front of the Behemoth Beast King, Chen Jianfeng even shot him a look of disdain.

Upon entering the camp, the expressions of Chu Gehang and Chen Jianfeng changed. They were not surprised by the quantity and combat power of these two legions, nor did they find those powerful attack weapons mysterious.

Rather, their disdain turned into disgust.

Leftover bones and severed limbs were piled everywhere, and the iron cauldrons emitted a foul odor. Sloppy blue-skinned Ogres lay in feces and urine, occasionally scratching their buttocks, then picking at the meat scraps between their teeth.

The entire camp reeked, and black flies buzzed around from time to time.

"Truly beasts. In my memory, the filthiest monster lair I've seen is a hundred times cleaner than this place."

Chu Gehang frowned slightly and began to mock them mercilessly.

Although Chen Jianfeng did not speak, his feet were hovering, and he floated forward the entire time.

They arrived at the central area of the legion.

"This is our base camp. Let's go in together and taste our Orc horse-blood brew."

The Behemoth Beast King led the two to a huge fur tent and shouted loudly, "Fina, bring your sisters here and serve our allies well."

As his voice fell, several tall, muscular female Orcs walked out of the tent, wearing terrifying smiles, and walked towards them.

But when they saw the figures of Chen Jianfeng and his companion, their expressions changed, full of disgust.

The leading female Orc, wearing large gold ornaments, said with disdain, "Two weak humans, and they are worthy of being our allies? With their small frames, can they withstand us sitting on them?"

Hearing the Orc Queen's words, the many Orcs present could not help themselves and burst into laughter.

"They hold the token, so they are the allies arranged for us by the gods. Fina, obey the oracle and serve them well. Be careful not to hurt them."

The Behemoth Beast King put on a stern face and reprimanded her, but his words were full of sarcasm.

"Alright~ my King."

Fina walked up to Chen Jianfeng and said condescendingly, "You two are truly poor. It's one thing that you can't bring out any divine artifacts, but you didn't even prepare any armor or weapons for yourselves."

"Your god wouldn't be the same as you, all small and weak..."

"Clang!"

The sound of a sword ringing out seemed to press the mute button on the noisy camp.

Fina froze in place, a mocking smile still on her face, and then the next second, her body was dismembered into several pieces.

Chen Jianfeng slowly raised the gengjin sword in his hand, the tip pointing directly at the Behemoth Beast King, and said with chilling killing intent, "Elder Chu, let's start the slaughter."

Elder Chu nodded and said angrily, "Those who insult Lord Immortal shall die!!!"

Plans, great treasures, and the like—to hell with all of them!!!
