77: Ten Thousand Arrows

"Old Man Yang, we shall settle today's accounts in the future. Until we meet again!" Li Changfeng prepared to depart.

"Old geezer, I'm off!" Li Changfeng hovered in the air.

"Go! Catch that brat quickly; he's trying to escape!" Upon seeing this, General Yang knew exactly what Li Changfeng was thinking.

General Yang hurriedly ordered his subordinates to pursue him.

If Li Changfeng were allowed to escape today, once he had gained enough strength, that would be the day of General Yang's demise.

General Yang knew full well that if Li Changfeng escaped today, it would lead to endless trouble. He was determined to stop him at all costs.

"Fire! Fire the Arrows! Don't let that brat get away!" General Yang watched as Li Changfeng flew toward the horizon.

Seeing the black silhouette growing smaller in the air, he panicked.

He stomped his feet on the ground and gave chase!

"Yes, Master!" Stahan understood General Yang's intent.

"I'm on it!"

"Go!"

If Li Changfeng were not stopped now, there was no telling what future dangers might arise!

His actions were for the sake of the Yang Family; if General Yang were to fall, the Yang Family would be left without a master.

Without a leader, the Family would inevitably decline.

"Soldiers, heed my command!" General Yang roared.

"Kill!"

"Stop that brat!"

The soldiers had returned by this time.

Upon hearing the command, the soldiers clad in chain mail stood tall, their eyes flashing with intensity.

The soldiers immediately raised their bows and drew their Arrows, their Aura menacing.

The arrowheads glimmered with a cold light. At the command, the Arrows left the strings, stirring up a biting gale as they tore through the air, shooting toward Li Changfeng in a unified volley.

They carved a path through the air, the Arrows wailing as they streaked across the sky.

A strange Qi suddenly permeated the previously calm sky.

Li Changfeng felt that something was amiss behind him and suddenly turned to look.

A dozen steps away, a rain of Arrows surged upward toward him. At a rough glance, there were over a hundred Arrows, covering a wide area.

This sudden turn of events made his heart sink once more.

At this moment, Li Changfeng's pupils constricted, his expression one of shock.

He was caught off guard by such an onslaught.

The Spiritual Qi within his body was almost entirely depleted.

Having already damaged his meridians earlier due to a lack of Spiritual Qi, Li Changfeng had now reached the end of his rope.

If Li Changfeng were given another chance to choose, perhaps he would still kill Yang Lei for the sake of Nan Qingyue.

Facing the Yang Family's vendetta, he would still meet it head-on.

To him, this was a perfect opportunity for trial, but the risks were simply too great.

Death was not something Li Changfeng feared, but there were still so many things he had yet to do!

Li Changfeng's gaze was resolute. He gripped the hilt of his Sword tightly, struggling to calm his heart.

The red spiritual patterns were striking, shining as brilliantly in the air as a lighthouse on the sea.

The Nine Songs Sword seemed to sense its master's plight.

Streaks of golden Sword Qi erupted from the Sword.

The Aura of spiritual power was eerie.

The sensation from the Nine Songs Sword was different from before; faintly, it felt as though the Sword Soul was stirring.

Swoosh.

The rain of Arrows reached Li Changfeng. The arrowheads glimmered with a cold light, and the fierce gale they stirred up sliced across Li Changfeng's cheeks like a blade.

Yet, one could see an abnormal calmness in Li Changfeng's eyes.

His heart was completely still, though it was unclear whether he had accepted his fate or if he had a strategy of his own.

Li Changfeng twisted his wrist, and the Nine Songs Sword spun with him. A golden light streaked through the air.

He raised the Nine Songs Sword to block in front of him. Although there was no Aura of Spiritual Qi radiating from him, the presence he exuded was terrifying. The sensation carried a faint pressure, as if he possessed the bearing of a born king.

Li Changfeng suddenly raised his hand, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and gently smeared it onto the blade.

The drop of blood slowly merged into the golden Sword Qi, leaving only a faint trace on the Sword.

Suddenly, the Nine Songs Sword began to grow restless. The blade trembled incessantly, emitting a wailing sound.

The Nine Songs Sword spun in his hand, and golden Sword Qi erupted from it.

A barrier of Sword Qi formed before Li Changfeng, charging headlong into the rain of Arrows. The blades clashed against the arrowheads, producing crisp, clinking sounds.

As the weapons struck and ground against each other, sparks flew everywhere, brilliant as fireworks in the sky.

Swoosh.

Several Arrows stirred up sharp currents of air as they lunged toward Li Changfeng.

The arrowheads glimmered coldly, carrying a thick, heavy Killing Intent.

Li Changfeng frantically squeezed the remaining Spiritual Qi in his body, focusing it into the soles of his feet. The Spiritual Qi erupted, creating a thrust.

Using this force, Li Changfeng spun gracefully in the air, his cheek grazing past a sharp arrowhead.

Because the density of the Arrows was so great, the affected area was vast!

An Arrow shot toward him from his blind spot.

Caught off guard, Li Changfeng was struck in the left arm by the sharp arrowhead.

It pierced deep into his arm, and blood slowly flowed from the wound, leaving trails of crimson.

Li Changfeng felt a tearing, excruciating pain in his arm, causing him to grunt involuntarily.

He raised his hand and swung his Sword, flipping his wrist to block in front of him with the Nine Songs Sword. A crisp sound rang out.

The Arrow that had been thrusting straight toward Li Changfeng was deflected by the Nine Songs Sword, and the golden Sword Qi erupting from the blade soared into the sky.

The air shimmered with golden light, and sparks flew.

Li Changfeng continued to swing his Sword, using it to parry the incoming rain of Arrows.

In less than a moment, he felt his strength draining away; his limbs grew weak, and the crimson Fire Spiritual Qi beneath his feet began to fade.

Li Changfeng's face was deathly pale and devoid of color; he appeared to have reached his limit.

"Fire! Keep firing! If you don't hit him, none of you will live!" General Yang's expression was ferocious, his eyes flashing with a cold light as his rage grew even more intense.

"Understood!"

The soldiers behind General Yang dared not hesitate upon hearing this.

They hurriedly drew their bows and aimed their Arrows at Li Changfeng's body.

With a gentle release of their fingers, the Arrows shot forth in a unified volley, wailing as they streaked across the sky.

Li Changfeng felt the levitation force beneath his feet gradually weakening; the crimson Fire Spiritual Qi had completely lost the powerful intensity it had possessed moments before.

He had reached the end of his tether. Facing yet another wave of Arrows, his heart trembled, and he couldn't help but gasp.

Vaguely, Li Changfeng could sense the Aura of death; the Black and White Impermanence seemed to be dancing in the air, chains in hand, waiting to harvest his soul.

Countless Arrows blanketed the sky, their tips gleaming with a cold light.

It was a sight that filled one with lingering fear.

Watching from afar, Stahan couldn't help but gasp.

If he were in Li Changfeng's position at this moment, he would likely have been pierced through by the Arrows and killed instantly during the very first volley.
