185: Imperial Legacy

"I... holy shit..."

Wang Dalong's Adam's apple bobbed up and down, the syllables coming from his mouth were slurred, as if something was stuck in his throat.

At this moment, he was nothing but an emotionless filming machine, holding the camera, his body stiff as a marionette, taking one step, then another, towards the nearest menacing steel monster.

It was an aircraft.

An aircraft entirely pitch-black, without any propellers, without any piston engines!

It didn't even have a fuselage and tail in the traditional sense! The entire body was a massive, flat black triangle, its lines simplified to the extreme, yet exuding a deadly beauty that sent chills down one's spine!

"Horten Ho 229... Gotha P.60... the legendary Nazi Doomsday Flying Wing..."

Stone walked over with heavy steps, his voice dry as sandpaper grinding.

As a veteran soldier and seasoned military enthusiast who had been immersed in military affairs for years, he recognized this model at a single glance—one that should only exist on yellowed blueprints and urban legends!

"Historical records state that only three prototypes of this thing were built, without even proper test flights completed before the Third Reich fell. But here..."

His gaze slowly swept across this area.

One, two, three... a full five!

Five identical Doomsday Flying Wings, like five black devil rays, quietly parked here!

And this was merely an insignificant corner of this monstrously huge hangar!

Looking further into the distance, there were several more aircraft with even more exaggerated silhouettes, their outlines bearing a seventy to eighty percent resemblance to the later-famous B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber, but with more sci-fi and radical body lines!

And that wasn't all!

Wang Dalong's eyes widened sharply; through the telephoto lens, he saw the deepest part of the hangar!

In that dim corner, several massive discs with diameters exceeding ten meters, possibly even reaching fifteen meters, were parked!

Exactly those kinds of discs!

The kind aliens drive to invade Earth in movies!

They had no wings, no landing gear, not even any visible propulsion devices, just eerily suspended on several massive custom-made supports, emitting an icy aura like something not of human creation!

"UFO... it really is a UFO..." Wang Dalong's lips trembled, "these lunatics... these Germans... what kind of monsters have they secretly built here..."

"The Bell of the Empire... don't ask me what that is, I've only seen that term in some declassified files..." an SAS Team Member's face turned pale, his voice trembling.

In the entire space, only Lin Feng maintained absolute calm.

He didn't even spare a second glance at those epoch-making aircraft, as if they were just ordinary scrap metal.

He bypassed a massive flying wing, heading straight with clear purpose towards the row of heavy metal doors on the side of the hangar.

These doors were made of the exact same material as the giant door they entered through, each one like a wall forged from steel, indestructible.

Most crucially, above each door, a line of large characters was clearly etched in German, indicating the room's purpose.

Lin Feng stood before the first door, looking up.

"Rundflugzeug-Antriebslabor".

Stone behind him instinctively translated, his voice carrying a sense of absurdity: "Disc... aircraft... propulsion laboratory."

Everyone's gaze simultaneously turned towards those massive discs in the distance.

The answer was self-evident.

Lin Feng walked to the second door.

"Chronos-Projekt - Zeitglocke".

"Chronos Project... Bell of Time and Space..." Stone's voice was already starting to change tone.

"Bell of Time and Space"! Die Glocke!

This thing was even more bizarre than any flying wing or UFO! It was the top-tier forbidden legend in Nazi black technology! Rumored to be a terrifying device capable of distorting time and tearing spatial dimensions!

Lin Feng's footsteps didn't stop; he arrived at the third door.

"Projekt Auge des Odin".

"Project Eye of Odin." Stone struggled to utter the name.

After saying it, he froze.

Everyone froze.

Disc aircraft—they had seen the real thing.

Bell of Time and Space—they had at least heard of it in legends.

But what was this "eye of odin"?

In Lin Feng's knowledge base, all public and non-public information about Nazi Germany was rapidly retrieved.

No records.

This was a brand new, completely erased project name that had never appeared in any archive in the world!

"It seems we've found the real core."

Lin Feng turned around, his voice calm, but in this dead-silent hangar, it sounded exceptionally clear.

He walked to the door of "eye of odin," raised his hand, and tentatively pushed against the heavy steel door.

It didn't budge.

Like the outer door, these doors were also locked from the inside.

Stone walked over, glanced at the complex mechanical lock structure on the door, and frowned tightly. This thing couldn't be opened by conventional means at all.

Without hesitation, he directly waved to the demolition expert carrying special equipment behind him.

"Get the explosives ready for directional blasting."

"Wait."

Lin Feng raised his hand to stop him.

Everyone's movements halted, looking at him in confusion.

Lin Feng closed his eyes again.

He extended a finger, slowly, inch by inch, tracing it across the cold, rough surface of the steel door.

His movements were light, slow, as if caressing a rare treasure.

The whole world fell silent, leaving only the dull hum of the generator.

The SAS Team Members exchanged glances, completely baffled by what Lin Feng was doing.

This door was steel! Dozens of centimeters thick special steel! What could you possibly achieve by touching it?

Only Stone and Wang Dalong felt their hearts start to race uncontrollably.

They had seen this before.

In the pyramid, Lin Feng had used this unbelievable method to unravel mechanisms thousands of years old!

A few seconds later, Lin Feng suddenly opened his eyes!

He withdrew his hand, pointing to a spot just below the door lock, a tiny, inconspicuous rivet location smaller than a fingernail.

"Use a high-strength drill bit, drill in from here."

His voice carried no emotion, as if announcing an unbreakable command.

"Depth, five centimeters, not a millimeter more, not a millimeter less."

"Then, shift left three centimeters, cut the third safety pin inside."

The instructions were clear, precise, and unreasonably domineering!

The named demolition expert was completely dumbfounded.

He stared blankly at Lin Feng, then turned to look at his captain Stone, his face filled with a "you've got to be kidding me" expression.

Stone stared intently at Lin Feng, trying to detect even a hint of hesitation or uncertainty on his face.

After two seconds of dead silence, Stone gritted his teeth hard, almost squeezing the words out from between them.

"Do as he says!"

"Yes, Captain!"

Though full of doubts, the demolition expert's duty as a soldier was to obey orders!

He immediately took out a set of small, high-strength drill bits specifically for handling precision devices from his tactical backpack, accurately aiming at the point Lin Feng indicated.

"Zzzzz—"

The piercing sound of metal grinding instantly echoed throughout the hangar, sparks flying everywhere!

Everyone held their breath, eyes fixed unblinkingly on the rapidly spinning drill bit!

The drill bit steadily penetrated the steel door.

The demolition expert closely watched the depth display on the instrument.

4.8 centimeters... 4.9 centimeters... five centimeters!

He abruptly stopped, a fine layer of sweat already beading on his forehead.

Then, following Lin Feng's instructions, he carefully shifted the drill bit to the left.

One centimeter... two centimeters... the moment the drill bit precisely moved to the third centimeter position—

"Click!"

An incredibly crisp, incredibly pleasant sound of a mechanism unlocking came from inside the heavy steel door!

The sound wasn't loud, but at this moment, it was like a thunderclap exploding in everyone's ears!

Immediately after, under everyone's ghost-stricken gaze, that heavy steel door weighing several tons, which even explosives might not easily budge, actually... popped open a crack inward on its own!

"..."

The demolition expert's drill bit clattered to the ground, his mouth agape enough to fit an egg.

"..."

Stone and his subordinates collectively petrified.

Lin Feng gave a gentle push.

That secret door, sealed for nearly a century, emitted a dull creak, slowly swinging inward.

Behind the door was an abyss-like darkness.

Lin Feng was the first to walk in.

This room would reveal Howard Cavendish's final traces.
