312: The long river of time, the mysterious little girl

"Done, that's a wrap!"

Chen Tiankuang clapped his hands and spoke casually.

Then, he turned his gaze towards the still-dazed Pavilion Master of Purple Cloud Pavilion, walked up, patted the other's shoulder, and said: "Big bro, you can't forget this life-saving favor. Remember to repay me later!"

"Huh?"

The Pavilion Master of Purple Cloud Pavilion snapped out of it, his gaze somewhat complex as he stared at the other man. Then, he nodded seriously and responded:

"I will report this matter truthfully to the Canglan Wing Palace Master. Additionally, I owe you my life. If there's anything I can do, I will not refuse."

"Excellent, your word is enough. Then, the matters from here on out are yours to handle."

After taking the communication token from the other's hand, he returned to the side of the Big Yellow Dog and said with a hint of smugness, "So, what do you think? Impressed, dog?"

But all he received was the Big Yellow Dog's scorn and disdain. However, he didn't mind. He had long known this would be the outcome, but he just couldn't resist!

Afterwards, regardless of how the Pavilion Master of Purple Cloud Pavilion would handle things next, they shattered the grand formation enveloping the entire Sea of Silent Death and left the place.

...

In the boundless Void Realm, a vast and endless River of Time flowed quietly. It resembled a mighty Dragon, winding and twisting, traversing the past and present, connecting the endless past with the future.

Yet, upon this long river, several figures were engaged in a great battle, seemingly vying for something. Their bodies emanated a hazy radiance, their forms majestic, illuminating past and present.

One of them was clad in golden battle armor, holding a dazzling divine sword. With each step he took, it seemed he could leave a deep imprint upon the River of Time.

With each swing of his sword, Sword Qi crisscrossed, suppressing the five directions, causing the surrounding space-time to tremble.

Another was dressed in a green robe, ethereal as an immortal. Her hands continuously formed seals, mysterious runes swirling around her body, flickering with a mystical light, releasing an aura capable of suppressing heaven and earth.

Each of her strikes could mobilize the power of the world, causing the River of Time beneath her to surge.

Besides them, two other figures were clashing, seemingly divided into two factions.

The two sides were like fire and water, fighting with great force and without holding back in the slightest, shattering the eternal tranquility of the River of Time.

Ahead of these figures, there seemed to be a mysterious ball of light. Beneath its radiance was a surface formed from an indescribable substance.

It shimmered with a crystalline luster, sacred and pure, ancient and mysterious.

Each wisp of light seemed to narrate a tale from ancient times, inspiring awe and making one hesitant to look directly.

This ball of light seemed to contain boundless power and secrets, causing these figures, who clearly belonged to the ranks of supreme experts, to fight fiercely for it.

The ball of light floated upon the River of Time, constantly leaping and shuttle, difficult to touch.

These figures had clearly been battling upon this River of Time for an immense span of time, unable to determine a victor, their goal being this ball of light.

But the long-dormant ball of light suddenly underwent a change. It erupted with an unprecedented, blazing radiance, then began to tremble violently, as if on the verge of collapse.

A crack appeared on the surface of the ball of light and rapidly spread, shattering with a crisp sound.

The moment the ball of light shattered, an overwhelmingly powerful force burst forth from within, tearing the surrounding space-time apart, instantly capturing the attention of the several figures.

They wanted to act, but were forced back by an immense, invisible power, unable to approach.

They could only watch helplessly as a stream of light fell from the crack in the River of Time and vanished into the endless reaches of space-time.

Deep within the sky of the Immortal Realm, a crack abruptly tore open. A stream of light fell from it, slanting downwards.

It passed through layers of Star Domains, swept past the star-studded night sky, and tirelessly arrived within the boundless lands of the Immortal Realm.

It traversed one realm and continent after another, still advancing without purpose. But suddenly, the stream of light halted in the Void Realm, seemingly drawn by some force.

It no longer moved forward, but changed direction, flying towards a specific point of resonance.

Lin Yan, as usual, sat with his eyes closed, resting his mind in a courtyard whose style and structure differed little from before. By his side were six Yao Beasts: the Golden-Winged Great Peng Bird and others.

As for Niu Fei and the others, although they hadn't traveled with the Big Yellow Dog and his companions, they were also not ones to endure boredom. The group had gone off to who knows where.

Suddenly, Lin Yan sensed in the depths of his being a mysterious power approaching, seemingly rushing rapidly towards his location.

It was night. In the endless starry sky, a stream of light streaked across the heavens, like a brilliant Milky Way, shimmering with dazzling radiance, gradually growing larger before their eyes.

This commotion startled all the Yao Beasts in the courtyard awake. They looked up at the approaching stream of light with uncertain, wary gazes, their hearts filled with vigilance.

But when they saw Lin Yan, who had already lifted his head to watch the descending light, their worries faded, leaving only curiosity in their eyes.

When the stream of light fell into the Chang Sheng Sect, the entire Sect shone with divine light, illuminating the surroundings as bright as day, before quickly subsiding.

Surprise flickered in Lin Yan's eyes. He wasn't quite clear why this stream of light had sought him out.

The stream of light was extremely brilliant, its purpose clear. It landed directly within the courtyard, right in front of Lin Yan, as if it had come for him.

The six great Yao Beasts were almost blinded by the intense light before them, hiding in a corner and trembling.

The reason for this reaction was that the stream of light was now emitting an invisible, intimidating pressure, making them incapable of mustering any will to resist.

Lin Yan, however, was completely unaffected. He directed his gaze into the heart of the light.

To his great astonishment, what lay within was not some treasure, but a person—more precisely, a little girl.

She appeared to be about five or six years old, exquisitely lovely like carved jade. At the moment, her eyes were tightly closed, her eyebrows like two crescent moons.

Her long eyelashes, like butterfly wings, trembled slightly. Her nose was straight and petite, outlining the perfect contours of her face.

Her lips were pink and tender like flower petals, her cheeks tinged with a blush, making her especially endearing.

Her skin was fair and delicate, with a faint, lustrous glow. Her hair was soft and thick, cascading over her shoulders like a black waterfall.

She lay quietly within the stream of light, suspended in mid-air, wearing a pale green dress. She resembled a blooming blue lotus, blossoming alone within the long river of time.

She exuded a unique aura—a purity and tranquility that seemed capable of inducing Epiphany, aiding in breaking through Bottlenecks, and soothing Heart Demons. It was indescribable, beyond words.

Lin Yan was very surprised. He originally wanted to investigate the little girl's origins, but it seemed a mysterious power blocked his attempt. Although he could forcibly break through it, he chose not to.

The light gradually dissipated, and the little girl's form was completely revealed before the eyes of all the beasts in the courtyard, instantly capturing their attention.
