352: Immortal Divine Sect

The scene flickered, and everyone’s vision blurred. They found themselves alone, most having been scattered by this small world.

The Chang Sheng Sect, as a whole, did not experience this situation, and Lin Yan would not have allowed it to happen.

What greeted everyone’s eyes was a desolate, ruined world, with many dilapidated buildings almost erased by the passage of time.

The entire world exuded a sense of death and destruction. From the looks of it, it must have been annihilated after encountering a powerful enemy.

Even Old Chu couldn’t figure out their current location here, so he could only explore in one direction.

The massive and imposing Chang Sheng Sect stood in stark contrast to the widespread ruins, one vibrant with life, the other steeped in deathly silence.

However, the area of this small world resembled a region once ruled by a mysterious ancient power, vast and expansive. Their current location was clearly not the core area.

After Lin Yan released a wisp of his divine sense and comprehended the situation, he understood and immediately headed east. If there were no surprises, that would be the central region.

Along the way, the mountain ranges they encountered were filled with dead trees, devoid of any vitality. Everyone wondered if the Huangji Ziyu Ginseng that Old Chu mentioned even existed.

As they passed a dry riverbed, the ground suddenly began to shake as if something massive was stirring beneath.

Boom.

Dust billowed, and a massive skeleton, glowing with an eerie cold light, abruptly appeared, blocking the Chang Sheng Sect’s path.

The owner of the skeleton must have been a beast in its former life, with all four limbs on the ground. Its huge bone claws were still visible. It seemed to have been awakened by the Chang Sheng Sect’s aura.

Red light gleamed in its empty eye sockets, extremely eerie, and its entire body let out cracking sounds, as if it hadn’t moved in a long time. It stared intently at the Chang Sheng Sect, which was suspended in mid-air.

“What in the world is this thing? It’s just a pile of white bones, yet it still has consciousness?”

Big Yellow Dog and Chen Tiankuang clicked their tongues, speaking with immense surprise.

Old Chu’s brows furrowed. There was no mention of such things in his scroll. He had obtained it at a considerable cost, and it was incomparable to those sold by ordinary powers.

Roar.

A terrifying beast roar echoed, shaking the heavens and earth. The skeleton immediately exuded a powerful and unmatched aura, reaching the mid-stage Immortal King Realm.

Upon seeing this, everyone’s eyes showed astonishment. Indeed, places of great fortune and opportunity came with the threat of death. If an Immortal Monarch expert were to rashly enter, there would only be a dead end.

Moreover, no one knew if there were even more powerful and terrifying skeletons in this world. This meant that even Immortal King experts faced the risk of falling.

After the skeleton roared, a strong killing intent surged into the sky, and it leaped up, pouncing towards the Chang Sheng Sect in the air.

“I’ll do it!”

Chen Tiankuang volunteered. He was now at the late-stage Immortal King cultivation, and killing ordinary mid-stage opponents was as easy as flipping a hand.

After he flew out of the Sect, he recalled Lin Yan’s past demeanor, cleared his throat in imitation, and flicked his finger. A streak of light pierced through the void and shot out.

Roar.

The beast skeleton let out another roar, raising a front claw to collide with the streak of light.

Bang.

The next moment, the streak of light struck the opponent’s bone claw, only shattering a single bone. Other than that, there was no other damage.

Hmm?

Chen Tiankuang was puzzled. Logically, this streak of light should have been able to shatter the opponent’s entire body. How could it only have this much power?

Watching the beast skeleton pounce again, he unleashed a punch imbued with violent lightning power, no longer holding back.

Boom.

This time, the massive skeleton finally turned into dust and gradually dissipated.

Upon returning to the courtyard, the first thing he heard was Big Yellow Dog’s taunt. He heard him slowly say:

“Oh, isn’t this Ao Tian? Why have you suddenly become so weak? Can’t you even instantly kill a mid-stage skeleton?”

“Get lost!”

Chen Tiankuang retorted as usual, then approached Old Chu and Lin Yan and said, “Big Brother, Old Man, this thing is weird.”

Lin Yan nodded and said softly, “It seems to have a special energy within its body, which not only prevented it from perishing over time, but also significantly increased the strength of its bones.”

“If you hadn’t killed it in one blow just now, and merely dispersed it, it might have been able to regenerate!”

Old Chu nodded, indicating his agreement. He had also discovered this problem.

“That sinister?”

Chen Tiankuang scratched his head, surprised.

“Let’s continue forward. Once we reach the core area, we will naturally find the answer,” Lin Yan said, shaking his head slightly. The Chang Sheng Sect once again ascended into the air and flew east.

Along the way, they encountered similar situations several times, and the skeletons’ cultivation became increasingly powerful, with mid-to-late stage ones being common.

But they ultimately acted on instinct. Even if the skeletons were indestructible, they were still no match for Chen Tiankuang in a single exchange.

Before long, they saw a colossal dark silhouette in the distance, enveloped in a mysterious mist, which was quite eerie.

Judging by its outline, it appeared to be a Sect. Its overall structure, unlike the other ruins in this world, was relatively well-preserved and had not collapsed.

After a brief stop, the Chang Sheng Sect pushed through the mist and continued forward. Everyone faintly felt ghostly roars emanating from the surrounding mist, as if they could affect one’s mind.

Old Chu snorted, and a powerful Quasi Immortal Emperor aura emanated, immediately dispelling that sensation.

Passing through the mist, the full appearance of the Sect finally emerged before everyone’s eyes. The Sect gate was majestic, ancient, and grand, immediately indicating its extraordinary origins.

At the Sect gate stood a stone tablet covered in cracks, on which four large characters were carved. Even after the erosion of time, they still conveyed a sense of majesty, inspiring awe.

Immortal God Sect!

Old Chu was immediately captivated when he saw these four characters, repeating them constantly, his eyes filled with shock.

“Old Man, do you recognize the origin of this Sect?”

Chen Tiankuang couldn’t help but ask.

The former shook his head and said, “No, this old man does not know, but for some reason, upon seeing these four large characters, a sense of reverence inevitably arose in my heart. It is very peculiar.”

“The name of this Sect alone sounds extraordinary, ‘Immortal.’ It does have a similar profoundness to our Chang Sheng Sect.”

Big Yellow Dog also commented.

Lin Yan was pensive. If he wasn’t mistaken, the previous anomaly of the skeletons should be related to the cultivation technique practiced by this Sect, giving him a familiar feeling.

This Sect was very large; even the Chang Sheng Sect appeared incredibly small before its gate, so they could directly drive into it.

After they entered the Immortal God Sect, figures once again appeared in the mist behind them. All of them involuntarily stopped at the Sect gate, their minds drawn by the characters on the stone tablet.

Among them were the several Quasi Immortal Emperor experts, who only stepped inside the Sect after a long while.
