2: Chapter 2 Apprentice? This is the God of Machines!

Two hundred technology points in exchange for a master comparable to a grandmaster in the field of mechanics.

This deal was equivalent to bringing a money-printing machine straight home.

The heat in Chen Xu's chest felt like it was about to explode.

He stared at the remaining 300 points in his account.

If one was this terrifying, what about two?

"System! Give me another one! Exactly the same!"

He issued the command in his mind without hesitation.

[Confirmed exchange for one Lv1 Apprentice-level Bionic Human. Consumed 200 technology points. Host's current balance: 100 technology points.]

[Deploying Bionic Human...]

The familiar blue pillar of light lit up in the center of the factory once again.

As the light converged, a second figure wearing blue overalls emerged.

He was slightly leaner than the first one, with a sharp look in his eyes. He also walked up to Chen Xu and bowed.

"Officer T-002 reporting for duty. Please give your orders."

Chen Xu looked them over carefully.

Both of them looked very ordinary—the kind of faces that would disappear in a crowd—but their temperaments were completely different.

The first was as steady as a mountain, while the second was as sharp as a blade.

He waved his hand, suppressing his surging emotions.

"Don't call me Officer from now on. Call me Boss."

"Yes, Boss," the two replied in unison, their voices crisp and decisive.

Chen Xu pointed at T-001, who had appeared first. "From now on, your name is Chen Yi."

Then he looked at T-002. "And you are Chen Er."

This was the identity he gave them, and it was also a sign of recognition for his future partners from the depths of his heart.

"Chen Yi and Chen Er greet the Boss." The two bowed slightly again, accepting their new names.

Chen Xu nodded, then pointed at the paralyzed CNC machine tool, his expression turning solemn once more.

"Our biggest problem right now is this."

"The spindle is broken. We can't do anything without it."

Chen Yi took a few steps forward and arrived in front of the machine.

He didn't even touch it; he just walked around the deformed tool magazine, his gaze sharp as lightning.

A moment later, he reached a conclusion.

"Reporting to the Boss: the internal bearings of the spindle are completely shattered, and the spindle shaft has undergone irreversible plastic deformation. It is completely scrapped."

Chen Xu's heart sank.

As expected.

"But it can be replicated," Chen Yi suddenly changed his tone.

"What?" Chen Xu suspected he had misheard.

"We need a high-strength alloy steel bar with physical properties sufficient to serve as a replacement base material." Chen Yi's explanation was filled with convincing power.

"By utilizing that small machining center in the corner and the old lathe, I can manufacture a new spindle on-site."

And then he gave a guarantee that nearly made Chen Xu's heart stop.

"I guarantee that the precision and durability of the new spindle will far exceed original factory standards."

Exceeding the original!

And using the scrap metal in his factory?

Chen Xu felt his breath hitch.

While Chen Xu was in shock, Chen Er had already started moving.

He ignored the scrapped machine and walked straight toward several old, grease-covered pieces of equipment on the other side of the factory.

There was an old-fashioned milling machine, a drill press, and a buzzing dynamic balancing machine in the corner.

These were all antiques left over from his father's era. Their tolerances were ridiculously large, and machining precision relied entirely on the feel and luck of the veteran masters.

Chen Er walked to the old milling machine and pressed his ear against the body, listening quietly for a moment.

Then he picked up a wrench and a feeler gauge and began fine-tuning the gear gaps and guide rail parallelism of the equipment.

His movements were fast, steady, and powerful. Every rotation angle of a screw and every strike's force was incredibly precise.

A few minutes later, he restarted the milling machine.

The original ear-piercing noise, like bones grinding together, vanished, replaced by a smooth, steady mechanical sound with a unique rhythm.

Chen Xu stood frozen in place.

This machine, which he thought should have been sent to the scrap yard long ago, had actually gained a new lease on life in Chen Er's hands!

Meanwhile, Chen Yi found a suitable piece of material in the warehouse and fixed it onto the small machining center.

No blueprints, no programming.

He switched directly to manual operation mode.

His fingers danced across the control panel.

The machining center's spindle let out a high-pitched whistle as the cutting tool bit precisely into the steel.

Iron shavings flew everywhere.

Complex tapers, precision threads, and the internal bearing seats requiring extreme concentricity all took shape in his hands.

One hour later.

When the small machining center could no longer perform finer operations, Chen Yi transferred the semi-finished spindle to the old lathe.

He moved the tool post by hand, performing micron-level finishing based on his eyesight and feel.

The harsh grinding sound echoed in the factory, but to Chen Xu's ears, it sounded more beautiful than any symphony.

Finally.

As the final cut was completed, Chen Yi turned off the lathe.

He wiped away the oil and debris with a piece of cotton cloth.

A brand-new spindle, gleaming with the unique cold light of metal and with a surface as smooth as a mirror, was presented before Chen Xu.

The spindle's surface reflected the light; its sense of precision and industrial beauty far exceeded the original part in his memory.

"Boss, it's ready for installation." Chen Yi handed over the spindle.

Chen Xu reached out to take it, the cold and heavy sensation bringing him back to his senses instantly.

The three of them worked together to remove the old spindle and install the new one.

When the last screw was tightened.

Chen Xu took a deep breath and pressed the start button of the CNC machine.

There was no expected loud noise, only a faint, steady "hum."

The green indicator light lit up, and the spindle began to rotate slowly, then gradually accelerated.

Steady!

Success!

This machine, which had been sentenced to death, had come back to life! And its performance felt better than ever before!

"Boss."

Chen Er's voice came over.

Chen Xu turned his head and saw that Chen Er had cleared a space at some point and drawn a clear production flowchart on the concrete floor with chalk.

From parts processing to coil winding, then to dynamic balance testing and final assembly—every process was extremely optimized and seamlessly connected.

"This is the optimal production plan. According to this workflow, Chen Yi will be responsible for machining all core precision parts. I will handle assembly, testing, and all auxiliary processes."

Chen Er pointed to the end of the flowchart.

"Theoretically, we can complete the production and inspection of all two hundred motors within five days."

Seven days' worth of work, and they only needed five!

A surge of adrenaline rushed to Chen Xu's head.

He looked at these two tireless "apprentices" with god-like skills, and then at this dilapidated workshop that was beginning to brim with life.

He knew that from this moment on, everything would be different.

"Good! Let's do it!"

With Chen Xu's command, the long-silent workshop instantly began operating at high speed.

Chen Yi operated the CNC machine, and the first motor housing blank was fed into the machining chamber.

On the other side, Chen Er rapidly wound pre-prepared enameled wire onto a winding mold.

Meanwhile, Chen Xu was in charge of helping out—moving materials, clearing scrap, and handling all logistics.

Ten minutes later.

With a soft "ding."

The door of the CNC machine opened, and the first precision-machined motor housing lay there quietly.

Chen Xu dashed over and took it out.

The surface of the housing was as smooth as a mirror, and the dimensions were perfect.

It was an industrial work of art!

However, before he could even marvel at it.

A hand reached out from the side and took the housing from him.

It was Chen Er.

Holding the housing in his left hand, he fished out a set of bearings and a rotor from somewhere with his right.

There was a series of "clicks" that happened almost simultaneously.

In less than three seconds.

The core components of a motor had been seamlessly assembled by him.
