36: Wu Family Third Young Master

After a few days, everyone knew that equipment in this game was hard to come by and leveling up was difficult, so some found this massive gap hard to accept.

But despite the cursing, everyone's enthusiasm for the game only grew, because the game could not only increase one's strength but also earn money; no one would refuse such a game.

After browsing for a while, Xiao Xing closed the forum and entered the game.

Most of the posts on there were discussing the level rankings and topics about the game affecting reality. Currently, many people still hadn't left the Novice Village, so there wasn't much information.

After entering the game, Xiao Xing's figure appeared in the square, and he quickly saw Qing Lan waiting not far away.

Besides her, there were several other figures in the square. Judging by the direction they were walking, they were likely headed to the Mission Hall.

Although there were already 100 people on the rankings, they were scattered across various cities, and some were still leveling up outside the cities. It was normal not to see many people; by tomorrow, there should be quite a few in the city.

“Brother Jian Chen, where are we going to level up today?”

Seeing him come online, Qing Lan jogged over to Xiao Xing.

She looked very happy; as long as she was with Xiao Xing, she felt those monsters weren't so scary anymore.

To pick up all sorts of magical treasures, she had logged on early to wait for Xiao Xing, because he had told her yesterday that he would take her to a good place.

However, when she called out, the team not far away paused and stopped to look toward them.

Because Xiao Xing had her hide her information, those people had initially only glanced at them, but hearing the name 'Jian Chen' forced them to pay attention.

After several days of System announcements and his position as Rank one, the name Jian Chen was deeply etched into everyone's hearts.

“Are you Jian Chen?”

A handsome young man with a staff on his back stepped forward two paces from the team.

He stared intently at Xiao Xing, his eyes burning with intense Battle Intent. Judging by his expression, he seemed to want to challenge Xiao Xing.

Is something the matter?

Seeing Third Young Master Wu, Xiao Xing naturally recognized him.

In his past life, this Third Young Master Wu was also a madman. He was not only a leveling maniac but also a PK fanatic; as long as someone appeared on the System announcements or a famous expert emerged, he would publicly challenge them to a duel.

However, he did have real strength. Relying on his technique and positioning, combined with his high level from frequently leveling through the night, he won most of his duels.

Back then, many people called him Madman Xiao San, but Xiao Xing hadn't been famous, so they had no interaction.

As soon as he saw Third Young Master Wu step out, he guessed the man's thoughts—he likely wanted to find an opportunity to challenge him. But now, Xiao Xing's strength was such that he didn't even care about him.

“Join our Heavenly God Temple guild, and you can name your price!”

After staring at Xiao Xing for a moment, Third Young Master Wu composed himself and directly spoke to recruit him.

He knew he probably wasn't Jian Chen's match right now, so he temporarily suppressed his restless heart. He would have to wait until he grew stronger before challenging him.

After all, having just left the Novice Village, he hadn't had time to develop. Challenging Jian Chen now would just be asking for humiliation.

The reason he was recruiting Xiao Xing was that there was a Super Guild behind him.

Once the level rankings appeared, almost all Super Guilds issued an order: recruit Jian Chen and Qing Lan.

Regardless of who in the guild saw these two, they were to try their best to recruit them. As long as they were willing to join, they could decide their own treatment.

Such recruitment conditions had never appeared in previous virtual online games, but the guild higher-ups decided without hesitation.

They knew more than the average person; this world was slowly beginning to change, and if they didn't fight for a chance to stand at the top, they would only be eliminated by the wheels of history.

Having such experts join the guild would play a decisive role in their development.

Once Jian Chen was recruited, their guild would immediately lead all others. This brought not just fame, but also a continuous stream of high-level resources to follow.

With a large amount of high-level resources, their strength would naturally be greater than everyone else's. Not only would they gain immense wealth, but the strength they could obtain in reality would also be greater.

Short of asking for their lives, they could agree to almost any condition as long as the two experts, Jian Chen and Qing Lan, were willing to join.

“I already have a guild. If there's nothing else... actually, even if there is, don't bother me.”

Xiao Xing waved his hand and turned to check if Lieutenant Ma had any good items refreshed.

After completing official position missions, one not only received merit points but also corresponding credits. credits could be exchanged for various items at the Lieutenant.

Usually, some Strengthening Stones would refresh, and sometimes equipment or Alchemy Recipes would appear. There was also a very small probability of refreshing Set Equipment Recipes or Materials for Gang construction.

Common items appeared frequently, while rare items appeared very seldom. As for what would refresh, nobody knew.

In his past life, he had heard of rare items like Magic Spirit Cannon blueprints and Epic Set blueprints refreshing here.

However, official position credits could only be obtained by completing official missions. Although these missions were difficult, demand exceeded supply.

There were only about 100 missions a day. By the Middle Stage of the game, the Demon Race would start becoming restless and causing trouble; only then would there be more missions.

So credits weren't something you could get whenever you wanted. Even if good items refreshed, you needed enough credits to exchange for them.

Xiao Xing took a look. Today was still mostly some Rank 10 Silver blueprints and Strengthening Stones, but he saw two decent items: Intermediate magic energy damage shards and an Elementary Whetstone Recipe.

A magic energy shard is something an Alchemist makes by processing magic gold; it can be attached to equipment and weapons to increase their power.

The damage of an Elementary magic energy shard is generally between 1 and 25.

The damage of an Intermediate magic energy shard is generally between 25 and 50.

The damage of an Advanced magic energy shard is generally between 50 and 100.

A Super magic energy shard is generally between 100 and 200.

Killing Lord-class or higher demonic creatures gives a chance to drop magic silver and magic gold. Alchemists can process these into various magic energy shards. Only Silver-Rank or higher equipment can be attached with magic energy shards.

In the Late Stage of the game, most people with some ability would have some magic energy shards attached to their equipment and weapons.

Only 10 magic energy damage shards had refreshed. Since it was currently the Early Stage of the game and no one else had exchanged for them yet, Xiao Xing spent 100,000 credits to buy them all.

The Elementary Whetstone Recipe can be learned by an Alchemist. The Materials needed to make a Whetstone are sturdy stones.

This kind of thing is relatively easy to obtain; killing any monster gives a chance to get them, and the higher the level of the monster, the easier they drop.

Among the Materials he had harvested earlier in the Mutated Saber-toothed Tiger's territory, he had obtained over ten thousand sturdy stones.
