16: Chapter 16 Fierce Battle with the Silver Dragonfish

"Charge!"

The Silver Dragon Fish aimed at its target once more and charged toward Lu Zheng. This time, its speed was even faster, and Lu Zheng also controlled his Clone to head toward the Silver Dragon Fish.

With a sudden slap of its giant tail, it dodged once again. However, this time, the massive snake body rotated 360 degrees in the water, and its powerful tail slammed heavily down toward the Silver Dragon Fish beneath it.

"Boom!"

The Silver Dragon Fish was smashed heavily into the bottom of the lake with terrifying speed.

Lu Zheng did not press the attack, and the Silver Dragon Fish emerged from the pit at the bottom of the lake again. It shook its somewhat dazed head. Many of the scales on its body had been smashed off by Lu Zheng, but in Lu Zheng's eyes, its combat power had not changed.

It was still 15 points.

This showed that his attack just now had little effect on the Silver Dragon Fish.

Through this brief contact, Lu Zheng realized one of his flaws once again: he lacked means of attack. When facing creatures whose combat power was not weaker than his own, his methods appeared too monotonous.

"Coil!"

This time, Lu Zheng did not wait for the Silver Dragon Fish to attack first. He immediately used his talent, and his massive snake body, like a swimming Dragon, directly and fiercely imprisoned the Silver Dragon Fish.

Powerful force erupted.

This time, Lu Zheng used all his strength, wanting to crush the Silver Dragon Fish.

"Fortify!"

At this moment, the Silver Dragon Fish used its second ability again. The scales all over its body seemed to be activated, becoming incredibly hard, and even its fish body became extremely tough.

"It's this situation again!"

Lu Zheng thought to himself, when he slammed his giant tail down just now, the sensation was the same as it was now, as if he had smashed it against a hard lump.

Feeling the iron-hard Silver Dragon Fish beneath him, Lu Zheng was very helpless. Neither of them could do anything to the other right now.

He then flicked his snake tail violently, throwing the Silver Dragon Fish far away. Seeing the python separate from it, the Silver Dragon Fish did not launch another attack and swam in another direction.

It seemed to feel that it could not deal with this python while injured.

It made up its mind to eat this python once its injuries healed, and then go find trouble with that old lump.

Lu Zheng did not stop it and swam off in another direction. If Rank 7 wasn't enough, then Rank 8; if Rank 8 wasn't enough, then Rank 9. He didn't believe he couldn't deal with a single Silver Dragon Fish!

Lu Zheng began his crazy devouring again. He did not go looking for the Heaven And Earth Treasure, as he knew that with his current strength, even if he found it, it would definitely be snatched away.

Qianxing Lake was far more terrifying than he had imagined; after all, there was still a creature capable of injuring the Silver Dragon Fish that hadn't appeared yet.

The night passed without incident. Lu Zheng slowly woke up from his bed. Ever since the battle with the Silver Dragon Fish, Lu Zheng had handed control over to his Clone, letting the Clone replenish energy points on its own.

He had spent another night adapting to his surging strength. Fortunately, his Mental Energy was strong enough to control his body with enough precision; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to adapt to his current body.

[Main Body]: Lu Zheng [Ability]: None [Skills]: Digestion Enhancement, Perception [Combat Power]: 12 [Mental Energy]: 7

Currently, the Clone had reached Rank 7 with 15 points of combat power, and his main body's combat power had also reached a terrifying 12 points. He remembered that the instructor of the Evolution Class only had 9 points of combat power.

And 5,000 energy points, according to the Clone's speed, should take two days.

As long as he encountered the Silver Dragon Fish again in two days, he might be able to take it down.

He got up and went to a street stall in the residential area, where he ate ten meat buns, three bowls of spicy soup, two large meat pies, and two jin of deep-fried dough sticks, then went to school amidst the stunned gazes of the crowd.

"Oh my goodness, what a glutton!"

A passerby exclaimed.

While Lu Zheng was on his way to school, in a certain place within the Government department, a person walked over slowly, holding a report with a somewhat nervous expression.

"Captain, the instrument we installed in Qianxing Lake detected a battle between evolved creatures in Area C of Qianxing Lake last night. The battle lasted for about ten minutes."

"And the Spiritual Qi fluctuation, the battle energy level, reached the high end of Rank 1!"

Lu Wen took the report, which detailed the time and location of the battle.

"Area C..."

Lu Wen muttered. Qianxing Lake was divided into four areas—A, B, C, and D—from deep water to shallow water, corresponding to the concentration of Spiritual Qi.

The deep water area was Area A, which had the highest concentration of Spiritual Qi.

Up until now, they still couldn't understand why Qianxing Lake had this special situation. A few months ago, they had sent people to investigate Area A, but they hadn't found anything.

But now, Qianxing Lake had detected elite-level evolved creatures, which were Rank 2 evolved creatures. Area A had become a restricted zone, and all the detectors in Area A had broken down for unknown reasons.

"How could a high-end Rank 1 evolved creature appear in Area C? Could it have entered from Area B?"

"Did it come for that Heaven And Earth Treasure?"

Lu Wen thought of this and immediately asked again: "Did the Spiritual Qi fluctuation in Area C of Qianxing Lake change last night?"

"Captain, the instrument in Area C shows that the Spiritual Qi fluctuation is increasing in a regular manner. It is estimated that in three days, the Spiritual Qi concentration will be on par with Area B."

It seemed like that thing hadn't reached maturity yet; there were still three days left.

Those two evolved creatures probably didn't come for this; they just happened to run into each other and a battle ensued.

Lu Wen thought to herself and then said, "Mm, I know about this matter; continue monitoring."

"Bring any records of abnormal Spiritual Qi fluctuations to me immediately."

"Yes, Captain."

"By the way, was there any situation in Area B last night?"

"Captain, everything was normal in Area B last night, but another one of our instruments broke. So far, there is only one detection instrument left in Area B."

Lu Wen had a headache hearing this. Each of these instruments was not cheap, and they couldn't send anyone to Qianxing Lake to install more now. Every one that broke was one less. Now there was only one left in Area B; if it broke again, they would be as blind regarding Area B as they were with Area A.

"I see."

"What happened to the two people who went to Qianxing Lake last night?"

"Captain, they have already returned home. According to their statement, they saw a python at Qianxing Lake, but the python did not attack them; it just splashed their clothes wet and dived into the water."

"Based on the size of the python in the video surveillance, we infer that the evolution Rank of this python has reached Rank 1. It should be a native creature of Qianxing Lake that entered Area D from Area B or Area C."

Lu Wen heard this and looked up: "Bring the video over for me to see."

After Lu Wen finished watching the video, her face showed some gravity. Although the surveillance video was a bit blurry, it could be seen that the python was pure black.

She immediately thought of something Bai Chengyan had mentioned to her a few days ago.

It was also a pure black snake that had escaped to Qianxing Lake.

A ridiculous thought suddenly occurred to her.

Could this be the same one...

She immediately shook her head and cast the thought aside. How could that be possible? How could such a big change happen in just a few days?

Moreover, there had been no abnormal Spiritual Qi fluctuations in Areas D and C during this period. If an evolution had occurred, it would have been detected immediately.

This should just be a coincidence.

What Lu Wen did not know was that the Clone was leveling up, not evolving, and it relied on the System, not Spiritual Qi!
