302: Chapter 302 The Role of Mental Power

The middle-aged chief on the other end of the headset frowned.

How could General Lu Zheng appear on a fighter jet? Was the pilot, Flying Eagle, talking nonsense, or was it the real deal?

"Hello!"

Just as the chief was silent, another man's voice came through the headset.

"I am Lu Zheng!"

Upon hearing this voice, the middle-aged man's pupils dilated, and he straightened his posture.

"Town General, please speak."

"I need to requisition this fighter jet now to go to some places."

"You can verify this with Master Long."

But after hearing Lu Zheng's words, the middle-aged chief did not hesitate at all.

"General Lu Zheng, we believe you. Please rest assured, we will fully support you."

"Flying Eagle, from now on, you must carry out every order given by the Town General. This is a military order!"

The middle-aged man's sonorous voice reached the pilot, Flying Eagle.

"Yes, Chief!"

"I guarantee to complete the mission!"

Flying Eagle shouted, and the middle-aged man's voice came through again.

"General Lu, I will not disturb you further. If you need any help, we are all at your service."

After hanging up the phone, the middle-aged man let out a long breath. Although he held a high position, in front of that person, he was nothing.

However, remembering something, he immediately added:

"Find the current location of Flying Eagle, contact him, and tell Flying Eagle that the tanker is ready for takeoff at any time. The latest generation of fighter jets has insufficient endurance, and General Lu Zheng must have a reason for requisitioning it."

"We cannot hold him back in this regard!"

"Yes, Chief!"

The subordinates immediately busied themselves, while on the other side, the fighter jet was heading at an extremely fast speed towards Dongshi River, one of the five locations given to Lu Zheng by Master Long.

Dongshi River, a great river spanning three prefectures.

Water is the source of life.

The Evolved Beasts within it were countless.

According to Master Long's intelligence, in the middle and upper reaches of Dongshi River, Evolved Beasts were running rampant, and it had even become a Forbidden Ground for humans. Fortunately, it was far from human settlements, so it had not caused much harm.

However, all the investigation squads sent there had perished.

Master Long even suspected that a Tier 4 Evolved Beast had appeared there. If left unchecked, by the time the Second Spiritual Energy Revival began, Dongshi River would undergo earth-shattering changes.

Perhaps the Evolved Beasts within it would, like the Ocean Evolved Beasts, walk onto land and pose a significant threat to humanity!

Dongshi River was just one of them, and there were four other such places.

At this moment, there were only two days left until the Second Spiritual Energy Revival.

This fighter jet was something Lu Zheng had encountered on his way. He could fly briefly after reaching Tier 4, but it was only for a short time and could not be used for traveling.

Therefore, this fighter jet became Lu Zheng's best tool for travel.

"Beep, beep, beep..."

"Town General, please sit tight. Flying Evolved Beasts have appeared ahead."

"I don't know what kind of flying Evolved Beasts they are yet, but there are many of them, and they are heading towards us."

"I have to avoid them!"

Pilot Flying Eagle looked at the red dots constantly appearing on the radar. There were more and more of them, but there was no panic on his face. He was long accustomed to this.

After all, he was a fighter pilot.

He dealt with the sky and had encountered many flying Evolved Beasts.

If there were only one or two of these flying Evolved Beasts, he could use weapons to eliminate them, but if there were many, even a fighter jet could not handle it, and they could only avoid them as far as possible.

Fortunately, the speed of these flying Evolved Beasts was far inferior to that of the fighter jet.

However, accidents always happened, and many of his comrades had sacrificed themselves at the hands of these flying Evolved Beasts.

But they knew the importance of air superiority better than anyone, so even with the threat of flying Evolved Beasts in the sky, they still surged forward one after another.

"No need to avoid them, just keep flying."

"When I got on the plane, I said that you just need to fly, and leave the other problems to me."

A voice slowly sounded, and this voice gave the pilot Flying Eagle confidence. He pulled back the hand that was controlling the direction.

"Yes, Town General!"

"Open the rear cabin of the plane."

"Yes!"

The pilot Flying Eagle immediately pressed the button. A gap suddenly appeared at the bottom of the fighter jet's rear cabin. The fighter jet roared, and strong winds kept pouring in.

Lu Zheng's expression did not change in the slightest. He jumped directly from the gap.

His whole person detached from the fighter jet.

He went into freefall.

But in an instant, Lu Zheng defied the laws of physics, erupted with a speed exceeding that of the fighter jet, and sped forward. Very quickly, he saw a large group of flying Evolved Beasts.

Winged Tiger Birds.

This was the name of the Evolved Beast that appeared before Lu Zheng's eyes.

They were all Tier 2 Evolved Beasts.

Their combat power was not even over a hundred.

Seeing the human appear, the Winged Tiger Birds roared excitedly, and Lu Zheng attacked directly, throwing a punch.

The fist wind exploded.

A straight punch, and a void appeared in front of it.

The Winged Tiger Birds within this void all turned into minced meat and then fell down.

The power of one punch was this great.

Immediately after, the Winged Tiger Birds seemed to see some terrifying existence and fled in panic in all directions, but Lu Zheng would certainly not let them leave.

He threw a few more punches.

The Winged Tiger Birds were all slaughtered.

They turned into minced meat, leaving no intact bodies.

"The attack was still too heavy..."

"Wasted quite a few energy points again."

Lu Zheng muttered, but then he looked at the only remaining Winged Tiger Bird.

This one was left by Lu Zheng on purpose.

As Lu Zheng's eyes narrowed, the body of the fleeing Winged Tiger Bird suddenly stiffened. Its wings flapped weakly, then it stopped moving and fell downwards.

Lu Zheng knew that this Winged Tiger Bird was already dead.

After doing this, Lu Zheng looked at the fighter jet that had arrived. Flying Eagle had already opened the rear cabin again, and Lu Zheng flew in.

Flying Eagle gulped. Although he didn't know what had just happened, on the radar, the shadows of the Winged Tiger Birds were almost all gone.

There was only one red dot moving away on the radar, and this direction was the ground, which meant that except for this one Winged Tiger Bird, all the Winged Tiger Birds had died without a complete corpse...

Even the kind that the radar couldn't detect.

The Town General is terrifying...

At this moment, Lu Zheng was recalling the power he had just used.

Without taking action, he had killed a Tier 2 Winged Tiger Bird.

"It seems that after my Mental Energy reached a certain level, it began to undergo strange changes."

"In an instant, my Mental Energy destroyed the Winged Tiger Bird's mind, achieving an instant kill."

"So, this is the effect of Mental Energy?"

Lu Zheng muttered, and not long after, the pilot Flying Eagle's voice came through again.

"Town General, we have arrived at Dongshi River!"
