Chapter 180 Casino Storm: Targeted by a Big Shot

Qin Shu listened with her eyes narrowed.

"Mm, I know."

"I feel like my abdomen is much more comfortable after the acupuncture."

"I need to sleep."

"Don't bother me again!"

"N-next time... I'll keep you company next time!"

Then, she hugged a pillow and fell back asleep.

Lin Chen hadn't expected this either.

"My skills are so high that even my massage technique can help with sleep!"

"No wonder doctors are so popular."

Then he turned off the light and went to sleep as well.

The next morning, Lin Chen, with the money that had just arrived in his account last night, strolled into the Grand Lisboa Palace.

This was the last casino in his plan.

As his fingertips rubbed against the chips in his pocket, he muttered to himself:

"It's the seventh today, I only need one last Ten-Second Prediction. Once this is done, I'm out. No point in being greedy."

Following the old routine, he feigned losing a few hundred thousand, deliberately frowning and cursing "bad luck,"

which drew gloating glances from the gamblers nearby.

When the dealer changed the cards, Lin Chen narrowed his eyes, taking advantage of the system's Ten-Second Prediction window,

and pushed all his chips on the table out:

"All in!"

The surroundings went instantly quiet, and even the Croupier's hand paused for a moment.

A few seconds later, the cards were revealed:

"Big!"

"Holy crap! He won?"

Someone nearby exclaimed.

Lin Chen suppressed a smile, feigning a calm expression, and tilted his chin toward the chip exchange counter:

"Cash out."

Before long, his phone chimed, and nine million was securely deposited into his account.

"Time to go."

He whispered, turned around, and headed toward the chip exchange area,

but after taking only two steps, his neck inexplicably tightened.

Something was wrong; someone was following him.

Lin Chen didn't stop walking, but glanced quickly behind him, his heart skipping a beat:

"It couldn't be, could it?"

"Did the casino discover my trick?"

"Or did I run into someone trying to pull a heist?"

He touched the phone in his pocket, his fingertips tightening slightly.

This was Macau, not the mainland. If things really escalated, he was all alone here, with no one to watch his back.

Three men with builds like towers blocked his path.

They were all wearing black suits, crew cuts, and had sharp, eagle-like gazes—it was clear they weren't ordinary security guards.

Lin Chen's heart skipped a beat; it would be a lie to say he wasn't nervous, but he was more vigilant than anything.

He suppressed the panic in his heart, maintaining a steady exterior while quickly calculating:

"These guys look tough. If it really comes to a fight, I can take down eight or ten at most; any more and it'll be risky."

Just as he was debating whether to find an opportunity to break through, the lead bodyguard spoke first,

his tone polite yet carrying an undeniable firmness: "Sir, our boss would like to invite you for tea."

Lin Chen glanced out of the corner of his eye, and wow,

from the nearby corridor corner and elevator entrance, security personnel were still continuously emerging,

at a rough count, at least twenty or thirty of them.

These men stood with perfect posture, their eyes focused, and they moved with stealth—they were nothing like street thugs.

They were most likely retired special forces; they were extremely well-trained.

"They've probably secured the outside of the hotel too."

Lin Chen saw the situation clearly; he sighed and accepted his fate.

A direct confrontation was definitely out of the question; he would have to meet this "boss."

"Sigh, alright."

He spread his hands,

"May I ask your boss's surname? So I can address them properly."

The lead bodyguard was silent for two seconds before speaking:

"Our boss's surname is Liang, but the boss behind her is surnamed He."

"He?"

Lin Chen's mind raced, and he instantly realized what this meant.

In the Macau gambling scene, a big shot surnamed He, combined with a surname of Liang... wasn't this Madam Anqi, Mr. He's fourth wife who managed the Grand Lisboa Palace?

No wonder the scale was so grand, and the security presence was so heavy.

Without asking further, Lin Chen followed the three bodyguards through the corridor and into a luxuriously decorated office.

There was a mahogany desk, leather sofas, and an ink painting hanging on the wall,

exuding a low-key elegance.

A middle-aged woman sat in the main seat, wearing an elegant cheongsam,

with exquisite makeup and a dignified, graceful air; it was indeed Madam Anqi, whom he had seen on TV.

She looked up at Lin Chen, a faint, ambiguous smile at the corner of her lips,

and went straight to the point:

"Young man, you're quite impressive. You made about nine million in just one morning today."

Lin Chen's heart tightened. As expected, casinos shared information with each other.

Madam Anqi picked up the teacup on the table and took a light sip,

and continued:

"Not just today. Over these past seven days, you've hit six hotel casinos, and you've won this much every single day."

"We checked all the surveillance footage and reviewed all the gambling sessions, but we couldn't find a single trace of you cheating."

"Tell me, what exactly is your trick?"

Lin Chen's heart skipped a beat, but his face remained completely calm; he even smiled.

Just kidding. The system thing? He couldn't say a word about it even if it killed him.

If he told them, forget about the money—he might not even make it out alive.

He leaned forward, his tone steady yet casual:

"You must be Madam Liang, right?"

"To be honest, I don't have any special methods. I just see through the game of gambling a bit better than others."

Madam Anqi raised an eyebrow, put down her teacup, and gestured for him to continue.

"Gambling in a casino, simply put, comes down to two words:"

"Betting and daring."

Lin Chen leaned back on the sofa, his tone casual, yet every word was clear,

"Others gamble on luck and bet on chance,"

"I'm different. I dare to place bets, and even after losing several rounds, I dare to push for another. I dare to gamble on what others won't, and I dare to bet on what others won't. That's all."

He spoke with deliberate nonchalance, though his heart was pounding:

"I hope this excuse gets me through. Otherwise, today is going to be a tough one."

Madam Anqi stared at him for a few seconds, her eyes deep and unreadable, as if she were thinking about something.

The three bodyguards nearby remained motionless, like three statues, and the air instantly grew more oppressive.

Lin Chen picked up the teacup on the table, took a sip, and forced himself to calm down.

When soldiers come, block them; when water comes, earth covers it. Regardless, he hadn't cheated, and the other party couldn't produce any evidence, so what was there to fear?

The silence lasted for about half a minute before Madam Anqi suddenly smiled, the smile spreading from the corners of her eyes,

with less probing and more sincerity:

"What a 'dare to gamble and dare to bet.' It sounds simple, but those who can truly do it are few and far between."

Lin Chen felt a sense of relief, knowing he had temporarily passed this hurdle, but he didn't dare lower his guard, merely nodding faintly:

"Madam Liang, you flatter me. I just know when to quit while I'm ahead and not be greedy."

"Quit while you're ahead?"

Madam Anqi raised an eyebrow and pointed to the tablet on the table; the screen displayed his gambling records from the various casinos over the past seven days,

"You leave every day once you've won about nine million, even when the situation is extremely favorable to you, you never stay."

"That's not just simply quitting while you're ahead; it's self-control, it's clarity."

Lin Chen felt a stir in his heart; he hadn't expected her to see things so clearly, so he decided not to hide anything anymore and said candidly:

"Madam Liang."

"I know that a casino is never a place to stay for long. Winning too much makes it easy to trip up. Only by quitting while ahead can one retreat unscathed."

"Besides, I only take what I need. Any excess is useless to me."

Upon hearing this, the appreciation in Madam Anqi's eyes grew even stronger.

She had been in the gambling scene for decades and had seen plenty of insatiably greedy gamblers,

those who wanted to win more after winning, and those who wanted to win back their losses after losing, eventually ending up bankrupt and ruined,

and she was seeing, for the first time, someone as young as Lin Chen who was so clear-headed and possessed such self-control.
