120: Song Sheng and the silver-haired man

“This case should be a cult incident.”

Although he felt very uncomfortable, Zhang Bangchao did not immediately order the bodies to be removed, fearing that some clues might be missed.

“Captain Zhang, shouldn’t we move them?”

A Security Officer asked.

“First, take photos and record them, upload them to the bureau’s archives, and see if there are any similar patterns.”

Zhang Bangchao said. Afterwards, he gathered all the workers in the factory and began to question them.

As the seventh-floor employees answered, Zhang Bangchao gradually understood what had happened.

“You mean, General Manager Yang and Secretary Huang suddenly came down and then started attacking people like mad?”

Zhang Bangchao stared at several employees, his gaze sharp.

“Yes, several of us saw it.”

Several employees answered affirmatively.

“And before that? Did General Manager Yang and Secretary Huang show any unusual behavior? Or did they not try to recruit you before today?”

Zhang Bangchao asked.

“No, before today, General Manager Yang and Secretary Huang showed no unusual behavior, and they never talked to us about believing in any religion.”

Several employees affirmed.

“Are you sure none of you did?”

Zhang Bangchao’s sharp gaze swept over everyone.

“None.”

Every employee answered affirmatively.

“Alright, I understand. You don’t need to worry about your jobs; we will contact the government to have someone take over.”

“Please do not leave Shengmen Town within the next month, in case we need to question you again.”

Zhang Bangchao said.

Afterward, everyone was arranged to return to their dormitories, and the main crime scene was cordoned off.

Soon, the forensic doctor arrived. She was a handsome woman in a black leather jacket, attracting the attention of the young Security Officers.

“Xiaoxia, take a look at how these people’s wounds were caused. The witnesses said they were torn by hand.”

Zhang Bangchao said.

Although the workers all said that General Manager Yang and Secretary Huang killed people with their bare hands, he still didn’t believe it.

It must be known that the human heart is protected by the sternum and ribs, and the muscles and skin also have a certain toughness and strength. No one could possibly do such a thing.

“Brother Zhang, are you joking? Tearing out a person’s heart with bare hands, this has already far exceeded the limits of human beings.”

Xia Ke’er had already seen some of the corpses with empty chests, their hearts missing, and said with a smile.

Zhang Bangchao shrugged and spread his hands.

Xia Ke’er put away her smile, walked over, and bent down, seemingly oblivious to the gruesome bodies.

This scene filled the two young Security Officers with admiration.

As Xia Ke’er looked, her expression became stern. Her pretty face leaned closer, staring intently at the large hole in the chest of one of the corpses.

“Oh my!”

The two young Security Officers were startled. From their perspective, the beautiful woman was almost kissing the corpse.

“Don’t make noise, do you think everyone is like you?”

Zhang Bangchao mildly reprimanded.

The two young Security Officers shrank their necks and smiled somewhat awkwardly.

“This…”

Xia Ke’er frowned, looking at the finger marks left around the hole.

“How is it?”

Zhang Bangchao walked over and asked.

Xia Ke’er did not answer, frowning, and her gaze moved to the second corpse.

This corpse had a large hole in its stomach, its intestines pulled out and arranged beside it, forming a small, eerie symbol.

Xia Ke’er examined it carefully, discovering many human-like fingerprints around the large hole.

“Those witnesses said they were torn out by hand?”

Xia Ke’er finally stood up, her tone complex.

“Yes.”

Zhang Bangchao nodded, looking at the eerie corpses on the ground, his brows tightly furrowed.

He had a premonition that this case would not be simple.

“Their statements are likely not lies, but for the specifics, I’ll need to examine them more closely after you bring them over.”

Xia Ke’er said, “You need to be careful. If they really were torn out by bare hands, the people you are facing have a destructive power greater than that of tigers and bears in the past.”

“In fact, most of the Mutated Creatures you’ve encountered these days are not as powerful as them.”

“I understand. This matter involves people who have surpassed human limits, and it’s also related to a cult. I don’t know if their great strength is connected to this cult, but in any case, I will report it to my superiors.”

Zhang Bangchao nodded.

“Alas, what’s happening to this world? First, various creatures are mutating, and now, even these cult organizations are causing trouble, possessing extraordinary strength just like Mutated Creatures.”

Xia Ke’er sighed softly. In recent times, she had already identified several cases of unnatural deaths, far more than the total number for the entire previous year.

“Those matters will be handled by those above us. What we need to do is ensure the safety of the people in our jurisdiction, and in this regard, we are currently not doing enough.”

Zhang Bangchao said resolutely.

What happened here was reported by Zhang Bangchao to his superiors that very day, drawing attention.

A cult organization, naturally, could not consist of just two people. Regardless of whether General Manager Yang and Secretary Huang died in the river, they had to guard against threats from other cult members.

Most importantly, the suspected identity of General Manager Yang and Secretary Huang as Awakened Ones drew serious attention… The lake outside Shengmen Town.

The area was now brightly lit, with countless Soldiers gathered, and various high-powered searchlights illuminating the entire lake as if it were daytime.

All sorts of underwater robots had already delved deep into the lake, exploring the scene within.

Song Sheng, dressed in a suit, seemed unaffected by the heat of the season. He stood by the lake, gazing into the distance.

Suddenly, a fierce Big Black Fish leaped out of the lake, its scales shimmering brightly under the searchlights. It opened its gaping maw and lunged at Song Sheng.

Song Sheng’s expression remained calm, without the slightest panic. He simply extended a finger and touched the Big Black Fish’s forehead.

The next moment, the Big Black Fish weakly fell back into the lake, and the clear water quickly turned crimson.

Those around watched this scene in shock, though some remained calm.

“Mr. Song, you’re back? Did you find anything?”

A man in military uniform walked over, exuding an aura of iron and blood.

Song Sheng shook his head and said, “I arrived at noon. I found no trace of remains at the bottom of the lake, and tracing it all the way to the Yangtze River yielded nothing either.”

“That Giant Octopus is very special, possessing extraordinary intelligence. If it has no hope of winning, it won’t fight to the death.”

“I suspect there were no victors in their battle; they must have left before I arrived.”

Song Sheng said.

“Regardless, we will continue to investigate. The lives of our navy must be avenged with blood!”

The military officer nodded, his tone very serious.

“Hmm? Who’s there!”

Just then, Song Sheng frowned, his gaze turning to the distance, his eyes sharpening.

“Clap, clap, clap! Song Sheng, I didn’t expect to encounter you instead of the Giant Octopus and the Big Black Fish.”

From the darkness, a figure emerged from the distant mountain forest, lightly clapping his hands.

The newcomer wore a sharp black suit, had a handsome face, and fair skin. What was striking was his head of silver hair, which glowed with a hazy silver halo in the night, very brilliant.

His eyes met Song Sheng’s, and he said lightly, “Last time you escaped with your life. It’s good that we’ve met now; I’ll just take it. If you live, you’re bound to become a threat later.”

He spoke very casually, his demeanor composed, as if he were about to pluck a blade of grass.

“Who are you!”

The naval officer shouted sternly, and the surrounding Soldiers all pointed their guns at the Silver-haired Man.

Song Sheng’s face darkened, and killing intent flashed in his pupils: “Are you from that organization?”

“If it weren’t for that idiot, how would you even know of our existence?”

The Silver-haired Man said, looking derisively at the surrounding Soldiers: “All old-era individual weapons, and you dare point them at me.”

As his words fell, his entire body glowed brilliantly, and wisps of silver light shot out like lightning, moving at astonishing speed, striking in all directions.

In the blink of an eye, the Soldiers present had no time to retaliate before they were all cut in half, falling to the ground, blood flowing and staining the riverbank crimson.

Only Song Sheng, grabbing the military officer with one hand, dodged away, standing by the lake shore, looking grimly at the Silver-haired Man.

“How dare you slaughter national Soldiers! Is your organization declaring war on the country?!”

Song Sheng’s eyes were colder than ever, filled with chilling killing intent.

“At war?”

A mocking expression appeared in the Silver-haired Man’s eyes.

But just then, Song Sheng, still holding the military officer, leaped into the lake.

In the night sky, a silvery-white object was seen breaking through the air at supersonic speed.

“Boom!”

The next moment, a thunderous sound echoed, and flames shot up from the lake shore, illuminating the night sky.
