59: Second-order eagle

A sharp shriek echoed from the sky, piercing through stone and metal, startling Lin Yongmao, whose ears were ringing.

"It's an AzureVulture, and a Second-Order Azure Vulture at that."

Using a combination of mist, vines, and thorns, Lin Yongmao had already trapped most of the Yao Beasts.

The Blood Spiders and Six-Armed Long-Armed Apes were not difficult to deal with; these land-crawling First-Order Yao Beasts easily lost their way in the mist and became lambs to the slaughter.

However, the AzureVultures flying in the sky were not so easy to handle.

Vines and thorns were difficult to grow high into the sky, and even within the mist, the AzureVultures could basically sense danger and fly far away.

Lin Yongmao could, at most, temporarily trap them within the Formation's range.

AzureVultures were wind-attributed First-Order Yao Beasts, occasionally releasing wind blades to attack, but due to the presence of the mist, most of their attacks fell on empty air.

But Lin Yongmao suddenly discovered that among the five AzureVultures, there was a hidden Second-Order Azure Vulture.

The previous sound wave attack had an extremely wide range, causing Lin Yongmao to be attacked for no reason.

His brain reeled, and his eardrums almost burst.

If it weren't for his Divine Sense being far superior to others of his cultivation level, he might not even have been able to control the Formation.

The Second-Order Azure Vulture's form was not much different from a First-Order AzureVulture, which was why Lin Yongmao didn't discover it immediately.

A group of AzureVultures flew sparsely in mid-air; who would scan them one by one with the System Panel?

It seemed that due to the muffled grunt Lin Yongmao made when he was momentarily dazed, the Second-Order Azure Vulture discovered Lin Yongmao's location within the mist.

Streaks of wind blades, tearing through the air, continued to rush towards Lin Yongmao.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—"

Lin Yongmao didn't have time to tear a Talisman or use other defensive measures; he only had time to raise his arm for passive defense.

Flesh met the wind blades and was instantly cut open, blood gushing out, and afishy smell permeated the air.

Lin Yongmao secretly thought, "That was close!"

If he hadn't cultivated the Mystic Spirit Body Tempering Art to the second layer, the Second-Order Yao Beast's wind blades would not only have cut open his flesh but would have directly severed his bones.

The wind blade had just struck his right arm, and through the flesh, one could clearly see the nearly jade-like bones inside.

Cold sweat broke out on Lin Yongmao, and he no longer probed, directly activating his trump card spiritual plants.

Hallucination Heart Flower

Sword Soul Grass

The pollen of the Hallucination Heart Flower began to spread with the wind, engulfing all six AzureVultures.

The leaves of the Sword Soul Grass detached, and a Flying Sword made of leaves shot towards the Second-Order Azure Vulture.

Before, Lin Yongmao wanted to test, but as soon as he tested, problems arose.

In a true life-and-death battle, victory or defeat is often decided in an instant.

"Hiss—"

Lin Yongmao gritted his teeth and groaned, quickly tearing a Hundred-Year Hemostatic Vine to cover his wound.

As the bloody scent permeated, he locked onto the faint gray shadow in the mist—the Second-Order Azure Vulture, wings beating, talons like hooks, hovering in the air.

Lin Yongmao was severely injured, and the wound on his arm caused excruciating pain; even with the Hundred-Year Hemostatic Vine, the injury could not fully heal in a short time.

The Hallucination Heart Flower pollen covered the AzureVulture flock, and four First-Order AzureVultures had already fallen to the ground, completely losing their ability to resist, immersed in the illusion.

But that one Second-Order Azure Vulture was not so easy to bring down; it constantly flapped its wings, showing very little effect from the Hallucination Heart Flower pollen.

Hallucination Heart Flower pollen could make Cultivators and Yao Beasts fall into an illusion, but it was not a panacea; as long as the pollen was not inhaled, there would be no problem.

AzureVultures were wind-attributed Yao Beasts, especially Second-Order Azure Vultures, which had extremely precise control over wind.

It only inhaled a tiny bit of pollen before it detected the problem, and upon realizing something was wrong, it quickly flapped its wings to disperse the pollen.

The airflow created by its wings forced back the Hallucination Heart Flower pollen, and having inhaled only a minute amount of pollen, it remained conscious.

While four First-Order AzureVultures had fallen into the illusion, this Second-Order counterpart suddenly swooped down, its wingspan stirring up a hurricane, and several wind blades once again struck towards Lin Yongmao's hiding place!

Lin Yongmao rolled and dodged, the wind blades grazing past him, shearing off a corner of the rock wall behind him.

The Second-Order Yao Beast's attacks were almost fatal to Lin Yongmao; he knew that he absolutely could not confront the AzureVulture head-on.

Breath Concealment Art

Lin Yongmao cast this secret technique, and his aura became weaker and weaker until it completely disappeared.

He endured the pain and activated the sword soul grass; its leaves detached from the stem, transforming into emerald Flying Swords, which, accompanied by a tearing sound, pierced directly at the AzureVulture's throat.

The AzureVulture sharply turned to dodge, the Flying Sword only grazing its wing membrane, but the intense pain enraged the fierce bird. It shrieked, its wings violently flapping, and dense wind blades poured down like a torrential rain, cutting the surrounding rock walls into flying debris.

However, the AzureVulture had completely lost its target.

Lin Yongmao used the mist as cover to retreat quickly, while simultaneously controlling thorny vines to surge from the rock crevices, attempting to entangle the AzureVulture's feet.

The AzureVulture skillfully maneuvered, its sharp talons tearing through the vines, but it did not notice that Hallucination Heart Flower pollen had quietly adhered to its wings.

Gradually, its movements became sluggish, its pupils unfocused, and its attacks weakened.

Lin Yongmao seized the opportunity, then fully activated the sword soul grass, and that leaf Flying Sword directly pierced the Second-Order Azure Vulture's heart!

The AzureVulture let out a mournful wail, convulsed on the ground, and was finally completely strangled by the thorns.

The entire battle process lasted only a few minutes, but it was a clash of life and death.

Lin Yongmao used Hallucination Heart Flower pollen to disrupt its consciousness, the sword soul grass to deliver a fatal blow, supplemented by vines to restrict its movement, ultimately turning the tide of battle through his control of the environment.

The Second-Order Azure Vulture's wind blades and mobility posed a fatal threat to him, but the precise deployment of the Formation and spiritual plants working in synergy became the decisive factor.

After killing the Second-Order Azure Vulture, he killed the remaining immobilized Yao Beasts with a few more sword strikes.

Lin Yongmao then collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath.

One Second-Order Azure Vulture and over twenty First-Order Yao Beasts were all killed by Lin Yongmao.

Lin Yongmao thought, "This should reduce some of the pressure on the Family from Yao Beast invasions, right?"

There was no other way; Lin Yongmao's sign-in System was bound to the Family, and if the Family was annihilated, his cheat would most likely become ineffective.

He had also considered creating a Cultivator Family with his parents, but whether or not it would be recognized by the System was uncertain.

The Lin Family was suffering from the beast tide's attack, and while Lin Yongmao didn't say he had to be at the forefront, defending the front lines, he would at least protect the Family's safety within his capabilities.

As soon as any Yao Beast stepped into the Thousand-Pinnacle Cliff area, he had to use a Formation to trap and kill the Yao Beast.

Lin Yongmao first cleared the corpses of the Blood Spiders, Six-Armed Long-Armed Apes, and other First-Order Yao Beasts trapped and killed by the Grass and Trees are All Soldiers Formation.

These land Yao Beasts, disoriented by the mist, were strangled by thorny vines, and their bodies were scattered among the rock walls, then gathered up by the vine cages.

He quickly dissected the corpses and began to strip off the usable Materials.

Lin Yongmao's face suddenly lit up with joy: "There's even this?"
