18: Chapter 18 The New Sun Family!

Since that night...

Sun Boan spent three days slowly digesting the five Jade Slips given by Shi Jian, committing them to heart...

On the fourth day, he summoned every member of the Sun Clan with a cultivation base to the Meeting Hall.

Of the eighteen Cultivators, excluding Sun Mao and Sun Yao—the two children following Shi Jian in the back mountains—there were sixteen remaining.

Among them, nine were children who had only recently drawn Qi into their bodies, all at the first level of Qi Refining.

Including himself, there were only seven who could truly represent the clan.

Sun Boan sat in the main seat and assigned tasks to all the Cultivators:

"Sun Wanqing."

At the first seat on the left, a female Cultivator in her early thirties stood up and bowed with her hands clasped.

She was Sun Boan's clan sister, at the sixth level of Qi Refining. Five years ago, she was just an invisible person at the fourth level of Qi Refining, until their branch rebelled.

Over those five years, she didn't farm the spirit fields or guard the city gates.

Instead, she buried herself on the third floor of the Library Pavilion, struggling for four whole years against a pile of fragmented Talisman-making notes...

Combined with the supply of resources.

Not only did her cultivation improve significantly, but she also drew her first usable First-Order Talisman two years ago, officially becoming a Talisman Master.

She had already mastered Low Grade First-Order Talismans such as the Fireball Talisman, Clarity Talisman, Rainfall Talisman, and Illumination Talisman. Though these Talismans were of average value.

It could be said she had gained a preliminary grasp of the Talisman Dao.

"From today on, the Talisman shop in the market will be managed by you, sister."

Sun Boan tossed her a Jade Slip: "This is from the compiled chapter of a hundred arts; it contains a complete set of standard procedures and detailed outlines for Talisman making."

"From making ink and Talisman Paper to the flow of spiritual patterns, it is over a hundred times more complete than those fragments you flipped through in the Library Pavilion."

Sun Wanqing had a cold temperament; she took the Jade Slip without any nonsense.

Her Divine Sense delved into the Jade Slip to check the Talisman-making section of the chapter of a hundred arts. After reading a few lines, her hands began to tremble slightly. Things she had barely grasped after four years of fumbling in the Library Pavilion, taking countless detours and wasting unknown amounts of Spirit Ink and Talisman Paper.

Were written clearly and precisely in this Jade Slip.

It even included three solutions at the end for the 'connection gap between the Spirit Gathering Pattern and the Spirit Guiding Pattern' that she had never been able to figure out.

"Is this the Ye Family's Talisman Dao Legacy? I remember their Legacy was disorganized. Big brother, did you sort this out?"

"What do you think?"

Sun Wanqing fell silent, realization dawning on her immediately.

Within the entire Sun Clan, the only one capable of organizing a Second-Order Legacy was likely that person in the back mountains.

"Sun Changping."

At the first seat on the right, a gaunt middle-aged male Cultivator stood up and bowed.

Sun Changping, Sun Boan's cousin, was at the seventh level of Qi Refining. When he was young, he wanted to learn the art of Alchemy but was constantly suppressed by the Second Branch.

Relying on a few fragmented formulas and half a set of Alchemy techniques, he stumbled through learning for over twenty years until they rebelled together and became masters of their own fate.

Only then did he truly become an Alchemist!

Although he couldn't refine many types of pills—only two or three of the lowest grade, like Fasting Pills and Qi Nourishing Powder—he was still the Sun Clan's only Alchemist for now.

Moreover, his cultivation was decent, and he could become a pillar of the clan in the future.

"The medicine shop is yours."

Sun Boan tossed out a second Jade Slip: "Take the Alchemy portion of the chapter of a hundred arts back to read today. Give me a list within three days."

"You need to know which of your current Pill Formulas can be improved, which should be discarded, and which can be added."

Sun Changping took the Jade Slip. His face remained expressionless, but the knuckles of his fingers gripping the token turned white...

He had worked hard for half his life and gained nothing.

He had even doubted himself at one point, wondering if he was wasting Spirit Stones and letting time slip away for nothing. To have his wish fulfilled and become an Alchemist now was already a blessing from heaven.

He never expected to have the chance to glimpse a higher Realm of the Alchemy Dao!

It was truly the fortune of three lifetimes.

Sun Changping took a deep breath, bowed respectfully toward the back mountains, and then sat back down without a word...

Sun Boan continued the assignments.

The repair of Magical Artifacts was given to a clan uncle at the fourth level of Qi Refining named Sun Tieshan. This man was skillful and clever; he had been a blacksmith for Mortals in the past.

Switching to Artifact Refining now was quite appropriate. In the future, he might even have the chance to step onto this path!

Formation maintenance was temporarily put on hold. The clan lacked talent in this area, and it was the most difficult to learn. They could only wait for a promising prospect from the younger generation.

On the other hand, there was no shortage of manpower for Spirit Plant cultivation.

There were many Immortal Slaves in the clan. Between the Lin, Ye, and Fang families, there were exactly sixty people, more than enough to Cultivate three hundred acres of spirit fields.

These people were kept entirely in captivity.

Aside from farming, eating, washing, and sleeping, they were not allowed to do anything else. Every day, they lived under the surveillance of the Sun Clan members.

The other three elder clan members, though lacking specialized skills, each had their own duties.

Sun Xing, at the sixth level of Qi Refining, was responsible for supervising the Immortal Slaves' daily cultivation of the spirit fields.

Sun Caiya, at the fifth level of Qi Refining, had separately opened a few acres of medicinal fields to specialize in Spirit Plant cultivation and had already become a First-Order Spirit Plant Farmer.

Sun Kezheng, at the eighth level of Qi Refining, possessed decent cultivation and oversaw the cultivation market at the foot of the mountain.

Once all the arrangements were finished.

Sun Boan glanced at everyone in the hall and announced the final matter:

"From this day forward, all members of my Sun Clan, regardless of whether they are of the main line or branch, internal or external, will be allocated cultivation resources based on their contributions."

The expressions of some people in the hall changed slightly.

"Cultivating spirit fields earns contribution points, as does making Talismans, refining pills, overseeing a region, being a market elite, teaching clan members, handing over spiritual items, and so on..."

"In the future, everything will be settled with contribution points, which can be exchanged 1:1 for Spirit Stones, Cultivation Technique Legacies, Medicinal Pills, Magical Artifacts, Immortal Caves, and more."

"For those without contribution points, regardless of whether your surname is Sun or anything else, you will only receive basic rations every month. Not a single extra grain of spirit rice will be given."

"If anyone has an objection, you can raise it now."

Upon hearing this, the hall fell silent.

Everyone clearly remembered the scene five years ago when Ancestor Shi killed the previous Clan Chief with a single palm strike. They knew that what Sun Boan said was the will of that bear in the back mountains.

Besides, there was nothing wrong with this system.

It simply meant that their previous private underhanded dealings could no longer be faked. Furthermore, whoever opposed Sun Boan was opposing Shi Jian.

No one had the courage to do so, and all accepted it readily.

And thus, the Sun Clan underwent a complete transformation, drawing a final period on its past.
