212: Chapter 212 Each Has Their Own Chance!

After the great battle.

The group of Yao Beasts found a hidden cave to rest temporarily. The entrance was sealed by Bi Luo with vines; from the outside, it looked just like a moss-covered rock wall.

Elder Rat squatted to the side, his gaze somewhat vacant, wondering what he was thinking about in his heart.

Xiong Shan huddled in the corner of the cave. The wound on his severed leg had been frozen to stop the bleeding by Shuang Yu, but the residual dao rhyme of the Yin-attribute sword energy was still slowly eroding the injury.

Bi Luo tried to wash it with essence of vegetation, but the effect was minimal. This dao rhyme was too overbearing and difficult to cure completely...

"This thing requires finding some high-grade spiritual items after we get out to be completely removed. Ordinary vegetation essence has limited effect."

Bi Luo frowned as she used the last bit of vegetation essence to wash Xiong Shan's severed limb.

"For now, I can only delay the spread of this Yin Qi. As for a complete cure... we'll have to wait until we get out."

Xiong Shan responded dully, remaining silent throughout.

Bai Ling nested near the cave entrance, acting as a sentry.

Her illusion consumption was not significant, and she recovered quickly, making her the one in the best condition among the Yao Beasts currently.

The cave was quiet for a long time.

Elder Rat suddenly spoke: "Where is Kuang Dou?"

Bi Luo: "Kuang Dou is still in the volcanic zone; we haven't made contact."

"What about Pulse Lords Shi Mo and Shi Pan?"

"There was no news when we split up. However, Pulse Lord Shi Pan is the most calm and experienced; he is still carrying Sun Yao's Cloud Dao heaven and earth qi, so he shouldn't easily expose his tracks."

Elder Rat was silent for a long time, then raised his head to look at the cave ceiling.

"Then we'll just keep waiting..."

This wait lasted for more than half a month.

During this time, two groups of Cultivators passed by outside the cave. Bai Ling used illusions to disguise the cave entrance flawlessly, and combined with Bi Luo's vines masking their aura, no one discovered that a nest of great Yao Beasts was hidden inside.

Elder Rat wasn't idle either.

Every three to five days, he would slip into the ground under the cover of night and roam within a hundred-mile radius. Firstly, to investigate the situation, and secondly, to scavenge the corpses of lone Cultivators.

The intensity of battles in the Late Stage of the Secret Realm was extremely high, and the remains left behind from engagements were everywhere.

To the Yao Beasts, the corpses of those Cultivators were excellent supplements. Bringing back some remains was just right for the group of Yao Beasts to recover and recuperate.

Elder Rat wasn't picky; he ate whatever was available.

After half a month, he had made up for 70-80% of his losses from the previous battles, and his spiritual power had even grown slightly.

"Elder Rat, what's the difference between how you eat and a vulture?" Shuang Yu couldn't help but mutter when she saw this.

"Vultures eat carrion; what I eat is all fresh goods!" Elder Rat said righteously, a trace of blood still hanging on his fangs.

The hatred in his eyes became increasingly heart-wrenching.

On the twentieth day, a subtle vibration came from outside the cave.

Bai Ling pricked up her ears, and within a moment, passed back the news: "A Yao Beast is approaching, but this aura is very familiar..."

"It seems to be Pulse Lord Shi Mo!"

Elder Rat bounced off the rock wall and scurried to the cave entrance.

The vines were pushed open from the outside, and Shi Mo's massive body squeezed in.

Behind him followed Shi Pan, limping, the burn on his hind leg still not fully healed, but his spirits had recovered quite a bit.

"How did you two find this place?" Elder Rat asked.

Shi Mo shook his head and nudged his chin toward the outside of the cave.

A thin, small figure emerged from behind Shi Mo; it was Lu Xun.

Lu Xun's Daoist robe had several tears, and there were unhealed abrasions on his face, but his overall energy and spirit were quite good.

"Master Rat." Lu Xun bowed in greeting.

Elder Rat looked him up and down: "How did you end up with Shi Mo and the others, kid?"

"I happened to run into them while fleeing."

Lu Xun smiled bitterly: "I was chased by three Cultivators for two days on the road. If it weren't for Lord Shi Mo's intervention, my life would have been left in the Secret Realm."

Shi Mo lay silently in the corner, tacitly acknowledging it.

Bi Luo frowned and asked: "Where is Sun Yao?"

Lu Xun shook his head.

"I haven't seen Junior Martial Uncle Sun Yao since we separated, but..."

As he spoke, he took out a positioning compass from his bosom. There were still a few faint points of light flickering on the surface: "Junior Martial Uncle's light point is still there; she should be fine."

"At least her life is not in danger."

"That will do." Bi Luo nodded and asked no more.

The phase of fleeing individually had passed. The only thing left to do was to survive the remaining days and get out alive.

Life inside the cave was dull and long.

The Yao Beasts took turns standing guard, while Lu Xun used this time to heal and recover, occasionally helping Bi Luo by assisting in changing the medicinal paste for Xiong Shan's severed limb.

Elder Rat occasionally went out to get a bite to eat, bringing back intelligence from within the Secret Realm along the way.

Because there was a human, Lu Xun, they found it inconvenient to eat people in front of him.

Even though Elder Rat was extremely disgusted with humans now, he still had to go through the motions; they still needed to use humans to deal with humans!

Meanwhile, the battle for the core area had entered its final stages.

The major Sects had successively obtained several wisps of heaven and earth qi, resulting in countless deaths and injuries, and the slaughter between the factions was even more frantic.

The Taiqing Sect's Chief Disciple Han Yue obtained a wisp of Metal Dao heaven and earth qi, and the Haoran Sect also snatched a wisp of Wood Dao qi, while the Xuanqing Sect gained nothing and suffered heavy losses in personnel.

The other three Righteous Path Sects also obtained one or two wisps of heaven and earth qi to varying degrees.

As for the Shangqing Sect, they seized five wisps of heaven and earth qi in another battlefield in the core of the Secret Realm, which could be described as sweeping everything before them!

As for those small and medium-sized forces.

Most of them became cannon fodder; fewer than three in ten were able to walk out of the Secret Realm alive, though there were a few lucky ones who took away a few wisps of heaven and earth qi.

In the last few days of the Secret Realm, Kuang Dou found them.

This Molten Black Hound had changed significantly compared to two months ago.

Its body size was a full circle larger, and a layer of crimson bone plating had grown on its four feet, extending from its shoulder blades all the way to the base of its tail.

Its fur was denser and longer, and the tips faintly shimmered with a reddish-gold color.

The most striking thing was its eyes.

The previously murky red dog eyes had now become clear and bright, with flames swirling in the depths of the pupils, completely different from the irritable and manic temperament of the past!

The temperament had changed, the aura was more stable, and it was even more dangerous.

"Bloodline evolution?"

Elder Rat leaned in to sniff, his whiskers twitching a few times: "What kind of benefit did you get, kid, or what good thing did you eat?"

Kuang Dou yawned, shaking off a pile of sparks, and lazily lay down in the warmest corner of the cave, saying nothing.

Bi Luo observed it for a long time: "Its Bloodline purity has increased by a large margin. It looks like Bloodline regression..."

"It's become much stronger."

"With this kind of Bloodline strength, I can already feel a suppression. Although it's not as obvious as when seeing the Old Ancestor, it's clear that this Bloodline grade is definitely above ours!"

Hearing this, Elder Rat made a clicking sound.

Turning to look at the dozing Kuang Dou, he muttered sourly: "What good luck. Other Yao are fighting for their lives in the Secret Realm, but he, on the contrary, actually had a Bloodline evolution."

Kuang Dou flicked its tail, revealing a hint of a cheeky smile.

Seeing Elder Rat's deflated appearance, it was instantly overjoyed in its heart.

But when it learned that Pulse Lord Lei Nu and Thunder Badger had fallen, that excitement dissipated, eventually turning into a whimper...
