6: Moon Village 4

Shi Yan turned to look at the ancestral hall.

The main door was tightly shut, and sounds of fighting came from within.

After waiting for a while, the door slowly opened, and three people quickly ran out.

Wang Yang, Li Zhao, and Chang Junxiang. It seemed Li Zhao, Tian Miaomiao, and Li Yan were gone. Shi Yan felt a bit regretful seeing this. It was fine if Tian Miaomiao was gone, but it was a pity that Yan Jingni and Li Yan died. If they had died by his hands, they would have had some value.

Time rewound to before.

With a thud, the main door slammed shut, and the surroundings were immediately enveloped by deep black mist. A very dangerous aura emanated from the black mist.

"Hey! Do something! This isn't the time to hide things!" Li Yan roared.

In front of the few people in the ancestral hall, the system panel suddenly popped up.

Main Task: Survive for three days.

Sub-Task: Escape the Ancestral Hall (Long-dead ancestors have been awakened; only enough flesh and blood can appease their wrath.)

The moment they saw the tasks, everyone reacted, immediately spreading out and staring intently at the others.

In this situation, no one dared to act rashly. The black mist around them slowly closed in, and those who noticed this had even uglier expressions.

The smile that had always been on Wang Yang's face gradually faded.

Chang Junxiang's gaze, fixed on Yan Jingni and Tian Miaomiao, slowly turned cold.

"You two, go try it," Chang Junxiang said, pointing at them.

Li Zhao looked on with a hint of reluctance, wanting to step forward and stop them, but he ultimately held back. Everyone knew that under these circumstances, sacrifice was necessary; someone had to sacrifice themselves for the others to survive.

"Brother Wang, s-s-save me," Tian Miaomiao stammered.

"I've helped you so many times. Shouldn't you help me for once?" Wang Yang said indifferently.

"You, surnamed Wang, are you getting too comfortable? You want me to die? Not a chance!" Tian Miaomiao's face turned ferocious, her eyes filled with bloodshot veins. Tian Miaomiao stared intently at the others.

"Heh heh, that's not up to you," Wang Yang chuckled softly, his finger moving slightly. Tian Miaomiao's limbs were controlled like a marionette, slowly and steadily walking towards the black mist.

"What's happening? Why can't I control myself?!" Tian Miaomiao screamed in despair.

"Everything you gained comes with a price," Wang Yang said softly.

The black mist slowly enveloped Tian Miaomiao. From within the mist came a grating sound of chewing and Tian Miaomiao's painful screams.

The others watched Wang Yang warily, truly worthy of being a Level 3 player.

The screams grew fainter, and the chewing slowly stopped. Everyone's expressions darkened further, as the black mist was still slowly shrinking.

"It seems there isn't enough flesh and blood yet," Chang Junxiang said sinisterly, staring coldly at Yan Jingni.

Without a word, Yan Jingni attacked another Level 2 player. With a wave of her hand, a string of sharp darts flew out, their surfaces glowing with a deep blue light, clearly coated with potent poison.

"You!" Li Yan hadn't expected Yan Jingni to act so suddenly. He immediately dodged to the right, but he was still too slow and a dart pierced his eye.

"Ah!" Li Yan trembled with pain, but he endured the immense agony to attack Yan Jingni. He spat out a mouthful of green liquid, which moved incredibly fast, reaching Yan Jingni's face before she could react.

The liquid was highly corrosive and toxic. The area below Yan Jingni's eyes was corroded into a blurry mess, but she felt no pain. Instead, a growing sense of dizziness overwhelmed her, and she finally lost her balance and fell to the ground.

"Damn you, you stinky bitch! You had to disgust me even before you died!" Li Yan cursed fiercely, clutching his eye. Still feeling unsatisfied, he kicked her a few times, then kicked her into the black mist.

But the black mist was still slowly shrinking.

"It seems there's still not enough flesh and blood," Wang Yang said slowly, arms crossed.

"I..." Li Yan felt a wave of despair seeing this. What he had just used was his awakened special skill, the Corrosive Venom, but this skill could only be used once a day, and he had relied on it to survive two missions.

Chang Junxiang stepped forward and kicked Li Yan directly into the black mist.

"Why so much nonsense?"

After Li Yan was kicked into the black mist, the surrounding black mist finally stopped shrinking.

Everyone slowly breathed a sigh of relief. After all, the remaining players were all Level 3, not as easy to deal with as these newcomers. Even if they won in the end, they would surely suffer some injuries.

The surrounding black mist slowly dissipated, leaving only three thoroughly gnawed skeletons.

The three who came out all stared intently at Shi Yan.

"What did you do?!" Chang Junxiang demanded loudly, questioning Shi Yan.

Shi Yan ignored Chang Junxiang and instead looked at the three skeletons inside the ancestral hall. It seemed there really weren't any skills from them. Skills only dropped from people he killed himself.

"I didn't do anything. I just ran a bit faster, that's all," Shi Yan said perfunctorily.

Chang Junxiang's face flushed with anger, and he was about to say something more.

Shi Yan suddenly accelerated, charging towards Chang Junxiang. The front half of his right hand's fingers were suddenly covered in Blood Mark Control, carrying a strong gust of wind as he thrust them towards Chang Junxiang's throat.

Chang Junxiang clearly didn't react, still standing there in a daze. Just as Shi Yan's sharpened fingers were about to pierce Chang Junxiang's throat, the panel about to be pierced suddenly turned the color of stone.

"Thud!"

A sound of rock colliding with rock suddenly rang out. Chang Junxiang was pushed back a few steps by the impact.

Chang Junxiang's expression was grave. He raised his right fist, about to strike Shi Yan's head, when Shi Yan's left hand suddenly flashed, and a dagger was already deeply plunged into Chang Junxiang's heart.

Chang Junxiang's face showed unwillingness as he slowly fell backward.

Wang Yang and Li Zhao also frowned tightly; neither of them had expected Shi Yan to suddenly attack.

Shi Yan ignored the two of them. Instead, he first pulled out the dagger, wiped it on the corpse, put it away, and then stared intently at Chang Junxiang's corpse.

A stone-gray, rhomboid crystal slowly formed on Chang Junxiang's corpse.

Seeing this, Shi Yan also breathed a slight sigh of relief. He had been worried that the skill he had previously acquired was just an accident, but now seeing the skill drop after Chang Junxiang's death put his mind at ease.

Shi Yan extended his right hand to touch the crystal. The moment he touched it, the ability panel popped up.

Abilities: Elementary Head Transformation, Blood Mark Control, Primary Panel Enhancement.

Shi Yan felt a cool sensation spread throughout his body from the point of contact with the crystal.

Shi Yan could feel his physical attributes had increased another notch.

A piece of information also entered Shi Yan's mind: he could make a part of his body as hard as rock.

"So comfortable."

Shi Yan exclaimed.

Shi Yan completely ignored the other two people, because in Shi Yan's eyes, they were all dead men, and who would care about the thoughts of dead men?
