62: Replace new tasks
The hall at this time was no different from before.
Shi Yan turned his head and looked around; the hall was very spacious, with only Shi Yan, a single player, inside, while Vadi stood in front of the teleportation array with a grim expression.
Shi Yan stepped out of teleportation array number 102.
Seeing the grim expression on Vadi's face, Shi Yan also made a guess: it seemed her losses were considerable.
Had all the other players died?
No wonder this dungeon's difficulty was Nightmare level; although players had suffered heavy casualties in previous dungeons, at least it wasn't like this one, where on the very first day of the mission, only Shi Yan remained.
"Did you not encounter anything unusual today?"
Vadi was stunned when she saw Shi Yan, seemingly not expecting any player to return alive.
Upon noticing Shi Yan's level, Vadi's face showed even more surprise.
"What do you mean by unusual things?"
Shi Yan looked at her with an inquiring gaze, a hint of confusion on his face.
All three of Vadi's faces froze simultaneously.
All the other players had died; how could he have encountered nothing?
They then looked at Shi Yan with strange eyes.
"All players except you have died, and everything in the supermarket has been looted."
The head on Vadi's left was full of coldness, squeezing out a sentence through gritted teeth.
"Ah? How could this be!"
The confusion on Shi Yan's face turned into shock, his acting very exaggerated, as if he simply couldn't believe what he had heard.
"You don't need to pretend anymore; we need you to do something for us."
The head on Vadi's right spoke in a deep voice, her exquisite and beautiful face filled with solemnity.
"I did encounter some things today, and I also heard some interesting things."
The surprise on Shi Yan's face turned into a smile; he understood that there was no need to hide anything at this moment.
"Presumably, you already know what exactly happened.
We'll give you a special mission, and you'll receive many rewards after completing it."
Vadi's middle head said softly, her face still carrying a hint of anger.
"We need you to destroy several supermarkets under Crocodile Tyrant's control, by any means necessary!"
The head on Vadi's left said sharply.
The system panel suddenly popped up.
"Do you agree to replace the mission?"
"New Mission: Destroy five supermarkets under Crocodile Tyrant Company; do not harm innocents during the destruction process."
A replacement mission allows a new mission to become the main mission.
This function is usually initiated by the dungeon creator, but whether or not to agree depends on the player, and the dungeon creator cannot force the player.
Shi Yan looked at the new mission on the system panel, his eyes slightly narrowed, concealing the excited gleam within them.
"No way, boss? I'm only level thirteen!
I can't do something like this!"
Shi Yan refused expressionlessly, even raising his hands and shaking them to indicate that he simply couldn't do it.
Although this mission Vadi mentioned was exactly what he wanted, taking it would allow him to open many treasure chests, but he was greedy; he wanted more things, and the promise they were making was too bad.
"We're not asking you to do it for free; we'll give you the rewards in advance, all right!"
Vadi's middle head rolled its eyes.
She knew Shi Yan just wanted more things, so she casually tossed him something.
Shi Yan raised his hand to catch it, then used the system to detect it.
"Strength Crystal: Increases Strength by 50 points after use."
Shi Yan's eyes lit up; this item was not bad.
This Strength Crystal was thumb-sized, irregularly crystal-shaped, with flickering red light spots inside.
Shi Yan did not hesitate and immediately chose to use it.
The Strength Crystal in his hand slowly melted into his palm, and warm currents flowed into Shi Yan's body.
This feeling was very similar to when the Bloodthirsty Long Blade gave feedback.
After Vadi waited for Shi Yan to finish absorbing, she threw five white cards to Shi Yan.
"These are five fixed-point teleportation cards.
After use, you will be directly teleported to a preset location."
Shi Yan lowered his head and looked at the five white cards in his hand.
Each white card had a five-pointed array carved in its center, with intricate red lines and runes inside that were dazzling to the eye.
The arrays on each card were very similar, but if one looked closely, they would find that some of the runes and lines were completely different.
Each white card was one centimeter thick, eight centimeters long, and five centimeters wide.
Touching it with his fingers, he could feel that the white card's texture was very smooth, like some kind of plastic product.
However, based on his years of experience as an assassin, Shi Yan could feel that these white cards were made from the bones of some kind of creature.
Shi Yan withdrew his gaze and looked at Vadi, who was standing opposite him, and said softly, "You trust me that much?"
"At first, we didn't trust you much, but now we believe you can definitely do this."
Vadi's middle head said with a chuckle.
"Oh, right.
If I choose to replace the mission, won't I have worked for nothing today?
I was very serious about being a store manager today, I..."
Shi Yan chattered on, his expression showing that he had sacrificed too much for the supermarket.
"We won't take today's sales from you; consider it compensation for your work today."
Vadi's rightmost head interrupted Shi Yan's words.
"No more problems, right? Then hurry up and do the mission."
Vadi's rightmost head urged Shi Yan.
"I have one last question.
What if Crocodile Tyrant comes looking for trouble with me?"
Shi Yan looked at Vadi with narrowed eyes; this question would determine his future course of action.
"Don't worry about that.
Crocodile Tyrant destroyed so many of our supermarkets; we're definitely going to settle accounts with him!"
Vadi's leftmost head said coldly, her face filled with murderous intent at this moment.
After confirming some other issues, he clicked to agree to replace the mission.
He casually took out a white card and crushed it.
A white light instantly spread from inside the white card, enveloping Shi Yan's entire body.
One second later, the white light dispersed, and Shi Yan's figure had disappeared from his original spot.
"Big Sister, what if that human player can't do it?"
Vadi's middle head asked her rightmost head.
"If he can't do it, he dies."
"Our things aren't that easy to take..."
The head called Big Sister smiled coldly and wickedly.
"It's time for us to get our revenge too."
Vadi turned and walked towards the outside of the hall.
...
Shi Yan's vision swayed for a moment, then slowly stabilized.
He was now standing in front of a small supermarket that occupied a small area.
The style of the supermarket was similar to the one Shi Yan had been in before.
Through the glass, he could see an unknown creature with a completely red panel sitting at the cash register inside, and there were two customers buying goods in the store.
A deep red system prompt panel suddenly popped up.
"First Supermarket, Destruction Progress: 0% / 100%"
"How considerate."
Shi Yan looked at the system prompt and smiled.
Around him were streets Shi Yan had never seen before, but he paid no attention to them.
He slowly walked to the glass door of the supermarket and stopped.
"Hey! Who are you?
If you're not buying anything, get out!"
The creature with the completely red panel inside the supermarket noticed Shi Yan and yelled at him, pointing.
The two people buying goods inside the supermarket heard the cashier's shouts and turned their heads, looking at Shi Yan curiously.
Shi Yan wore a strange smile and slowly raised his right hand, his palm facing the supermarket.
