114: Chapter 114 You Think You're the Only One?
A few days later, at Song Tianhao's Villa. Morning light filtered through the gaps in the curtains, casting a pale golden spot on the bedroom floor.
The light spot moved slowly, crawling up the edge of the bed, onto the quilt, and finally, landing on Min Sunye's face.
Her eyelashes trembled, and then, she opened her eyes.
First came confusion, then clarity. She turned her head and saw Song Tianhao still sleeping with his eyes closed beside her.
She watched him as he slept. In the morning light, his face looked very soft; his eyelashes cast shallow shadows under his eyelids, there was a light blue stubble on his chin, and his thin lips were pressed into a straight line. Asleep, he lacked his usual coldness and sense of distance, replaced by a touch of genuine exhaustion.
She gently withdrew her hand, and he did not wake up. She sat up slowly, the quilt sliding down, revealing that she was still wearing his T-shirt, which was oversized and reached her thighs. She got out of bed gingerly, her bare feet stepping onto the carpet without making a sound.
She crouched in front of him, watching him for a very, very long time.
Then, she leaned over and, very, very lightly, kissed him on the forehead.
It was a kiss as light as a dragonfly skimming the water, touching and immediately pulling away. But her face turned red, as red as a ripe apple. She covered her mouth, her eyes wide, as if she had done something naughty, and then tiptoed out of the room, closing the door gently behind her.
Half an hour later, Song Tianhao moved his somewhat stiff neck and sat up, bracing himself against the edge of the bed as his joints made a faint clicking sound. Pushing open the bedroom door, he found the living room empty, but the sound of sizzling oil came from the kitchen, along with the aroma of coffee drifting over.
Song Tianhao walked over and leaned against the kitchen doorframe.
Min Sunye stood in front of the stove with her back to him, wearing his white shirt. It was too large for her, the hem reaching her thighs, and the sleeves were rolled up several times, revealing a section of her slender white wrists.
She stood barefoot on the floor, her hair tied loosely at the back of her head, with a few strands falling around her neck, swaying gently with her movements.
She was frying eggs. Two sunny-side-up eggs were in the pan, their edges slightly golden and crispy, the yolks round and plump, and the whites snow-white.
The toaster nearby popped up two slices of toast. She picked them up, placed them on a plate, took butter from the refrigerator, and spread it on with a knife, her movements as skilled as a housewife who had been doing this for many years.
Song Tianhao watched her for a while before speaking: "When did you wake up?"
Min Sunye's body stiffened slightly. She turned her head, saw him, and her face flushed instantly. But her expression quickly returned to normal, and she even smiled at him, though that smile was still a bit unnatural.
"Half an hour ago," she said, her voice very soft. "I saw that you were still sleeping, so… so I got up to make breakfast. There wasn't much in your refrigerator, only eggs, toast, and coffee."
"That's enough." Song Tianhao walked into the kitchen and took two cups out of the cabinet. "I'll handle the coffee."
"Okay." Min Sunye replied, continuing to look down at the frying eggs, but the tips of her ears were still red.
Song Tianhao stood in front of the coffee machine, pouring coffee beans into it. His movements were unhurried and composed, as if this girl wearing his shirt and making breakfast in his kitchen was the most ordinary thing in the world.
The coffee machine started working, emitting a buzzing sound, and the aroma of coffee filled the air.
Min Sunye plated the fried eggs, arranged the toast, and washed two lettuce leaves to place on top, her movements efficient. She picked up both plates and turned to walk toward the dining room, but Song Tianhao reached out and took one from her.
"Careful, it's hot," he said.
"Mm," Min Sunye replied softly, following him out of the kitchen.
The two sat down at the dining table. Morning light shone in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a patch of warm golden light on the wooden floor. Simple breakfast was laid out on the table: fried eggs, toast, coffee, and a small dish of jam that Min Sunye had dug out from the corner of the refrigerator.
Neither of them spoke, with only the faint sound of cutlery clinking.
Min Sunye ate the toast in small bites, occasionally looking up to steal a glance at him, then quickly lowering her head again. She ate very quietly, taking small bites like a little hamster.
Song Tianhao's way of eating was casual, but it didn't make one feel it was rude; there was a sense of composure about it.
Halfway through the meal, Song Tianhao put down his fork and looked at her.
"Our future," he began, "have you thought it through?"
Min Sunye's hand holding the fork paused. She raised her head and looked at him, her eyes bright and clear.
"I have," she said, her voice not loud, but firm.
"No regrets?"
"No regrets." Min Sunye shook her head, put down her fork, placed her hands on her knees, and sat up straight. "President, I know what I am doing. I am not a child anymore; having been in the entertainment industry for so many years, what haven't I seen, what haven't I experienced?"
"I know that relationships are not child's play, I know that you don't only have me by your side, and I know that there may be a lot of trouble, a lot of gossip, and a lot of… a lot of things that I might not be able to bear in the future."
She paused and took a deep breath.
"But I still want to try," she said, looking at him without blinking. "It's not because you are my President, not because you saved me, and not because you are good to me. It's because when I am by your side, I can feel that I am still alive, that I can still breathe, and that I can still… be myself."
Song Tianhao didn't speak, just looked at her.
"I know this sounds pretentious," Min Sunye smiled, a faint smile tinged with self-mockery. "But it's the truth. On stage, I am Min Sunye, the leader of Wonder Girls; I have to take care of the members, manage my image, and live up to the fans."
"In private, I am my mother's daughter; I have to be filial, sensible, and give her peace of mind. In everyone's eyes, I am the strong, reliable Min Sunye who will never fall."
"Only in front of you," her voice lowered, but it was still very clear, "can I be fragile, can I be willful, can I cry, can I laugh, and can I not have to be so strong. Because you will catch me."
Song Tianhao was silent for a few seconds, then reached out across the dining table and took her hand. Her hand was small and soft, with slightly cool fingertips.
"Then don't force yourself to hold on," he said. "With me, you can be anything."
Min Sunye's eyes reddened again, but she held it back and didn't cry, simply gripping his hand back tightly.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
It wasn't the polite ring of someone pressing it once, but a continuous, urgent, almost manic doorbell sound, as if someone outside was pressing it desperately.
Song Tianhao frowned, let go of her hand, and got up to open the door. Min Sunye also stood up, looking at the doorway with some unease.
The door opened, and Ahn Sohee rushed in.
She was wearing yesterday's stage outfit with a thin jacket over it. Her hair was a bit messy, and she still had stage makeup on, but it was smudged, and her eyes were red and swollen, clearly from crying.
She was panting, her chest heaving violently. As soon as she entered, she looked around, her gaze sweeping across the living room, then the dining room, and finally fixing on Min Sunye, who was standing at the kitchen entrance.
Then, her gaze fell upon the white shirt Min Sunye was wearing that clearly belonged to a man, fell on her bare legs, on her slightly swollen lips, and on the flush that had not yet completely faded from her face.
Ahn Sohee's face turned pale instantly.
"Unnie…" her voice was trembling, "You… you guys…"
Min Sunye looked at her, her expression very calm, perhaps too calm. She took two steps forward, walked to Song Tianhao's side, and then gently took hold of Song Tianhao's hand, interlacing their fingers.
"Yes," she said, her voice not loud, but clear. "Sohee, I have confessed."
Ahn Sohee's body swayed, as if she had been punched hard by something. She took half a step back, steadying herself against the shoe cabinet nearby, before she could barely stand still.
Her eyes stared fixedly at Min Sunye, then shifted to Song Tianhao, her expression shifting from shock, to confusion, to anger, and finally into a sheet of icy coldness.
"President," she began, her voice as cold as ice, "what is the meaning of this?"
Song Tianhao looked at her without speaking.
"Taking advantage of someone?" Ahn Sohee took a step forward, her voice trembling, but every word was enunciated clearly. "Unnie fainted on stage, was in the hospital, her health was so poor, her mood was so bad, and you brought her home, and then… and then…"
She couldn't continue, her chest heaving violently, her eyes frighteningly red.
Min Sunye wanted to speak, but Song Tianhao gently squeezed her hand, signaling her not to say anything.
Then, Song Tianhao let go of her hand, turned around and walked back to the dining room, sat down at the dining table again, picked up his fork, and continued eating the remaining half of the fried egg on his plate.
His movements were calm and natural, as if Ahn Sohee's interrogation didn't exist at all, and as if the scene before them was just an ordinary breakfast.
Ahn Sohee stood where she was, watching him, her hand slowly clenching into a fist, her nails digging deep into her palm.
"Sohee," Song Tianhao took a bite of the fried egg, not even lifting his head, "Have you had breakfast?"
Ahn Sohee froze.
"There are still eggs and toast in the fridge," Song Tianhao continued, his voice calm, "Make whatever you want to eat, or," he looked up at her, "sit down and eat with us."
Ahn Sohee glared at him, as if looking at a stranger.
"President," she said, enunciating every word, "I am asking you a question."
Song Tianhao put down his fork, picked up a napkin to wipe the corners of his mouth, and only then looked at her.
"Your unnie is twenty-two years old and an adult," he said, his tone flat, "She has the right to decide who she likes, who she is with, and whose house she stays at overnight."
He paused, looking into Ahn Sohee's eyes.
"But if you are asking whether I have accepted her feelings," he said, "then my answer is, yes."
Ahn Sohee's face turned even paler.
"Why?" Her voice was trembling, "Because unnie is pitiful? Because she needs someone to comfort her? Because you think you can take advantage of the situation?"
"Sohee," Min Sunye couldn't help but speak up, "It's not like that, it's me..."
"Unnie, shut up!" Ahn Sohee turned her head sharply, tears finally falling, "Do you know who he is? He is the President! The Chairman of Sky Entertainment! How many female artists does he have under him?
T-ara, Girls Generation, which one isn't beautiful? Which one isn't outstanding? How many people has he had scandals with? Do you know him? Do you know what kind of person he is? Do you know how many women he has?"
The more she said, the more agitated she became, her tears falling plop, plop.
"I'm not a fool, unnie," she said, crying, "I can tell, Soyeon, Hyomin, Qri, and Taeyeon, the way they look at the President is not right. Do you think you are special? Do you think you are the only one?
Wake up, unnie! He is just playing with you! Once he gets tired of playing, he will cast you aside. What will you do then? How will you stay in the group? How will you face the members? How will you face the fans?"
Min Sunye's face also turned pale. She bit her lip, her hand holding Song Tianhao's tightening unconsciously.
Song Tianhao felt her trembling, gently patted the back of her hand, and then looked at Ahn Sohee.
"Are you done?" He asked, his voice still very calm.
Ahn Sohee glared at him, saying nothing.
"If you're done, then sit down." Song Tianhao pointed to the chair opposite him, "Or, if you feel that a scumbag like me is not worthy of eating at the same table as you, then please leave. But before you go, turn off the recording on the phone in your pocket."
Ahn Sohee's body stiffened abruptly.
Her hand had been tucked into her jacket pocket, never taken out. Hearing Song Tianhao's words, her face turned from white to red, then from red to blue, and finally into an embarrassed shade of pale.
"You..." Her lips were trembling.
"From the moment you entered, your right hand has been in your pocket," Song Tianhao said, his tone very light, "What did you want to record? My admission? My defense? Or your unnie's tearful complaints?"
Ahn Sohee pulled her hand out of her pocket, and sure enough, she was holding a phone, the screen lit up, showing that it was recording. She looked at the phone, then at Song Tianhao, her expression as if she had been slapped in public.
"I..." She wanted to say something, but couldn't.
"Turn it off." Song Tianhao said.
Ahn Sohee's fingers trembled as she pressed the stop button.
"Delete it." Song Tianhao said again.
Ahn Sohee gritted her teeth, manipulated the screen a few times, then held up the phone, the screen facing Song Tianhao, showing that the recording file had been deleted.
Song Tianhao nodded, picked up his fork again, skewered the last bite of the fried egg, put it into his mouth, chewed slowly, swallowed, and then picked up his coffee cup and took a sip.
Throughout the entire process, his movements were unhurried, elegant, and composed, as if the tense confrontation just now didn't exist at all.
Ahn Sohee stood where she was, still holding the phone, her tears had dried, but her eyes were still red, staring intently at Song Tianhao, as if she wanted to burn a hole through him.
"Sohee," Min Sunye spoke up, her voice a bit hoarse, "I'm sorry."
Ahn Sohee looked at her, her eyes complex.
"I'm sorry for making you worry," Min Sunye said, her eyes also reddening, "But this is my choice. I like the President, I have liked him for a long time, but I never dared to say it. I suddenly felt that if I didn't say it now, I might never have the chance to say it for the rest of my life. So I confessed, and he accepted, that's just how it is."
She paused and took a deep breath.
"As for what kind of person the President is, or how many women he has, I don't care about any of that," her voice was soft but firm, "I only know that he is truly good to me.
He pulled me out of the mud, gave me a stage, gave me hope, and gave me... a place where I can rest. That is enough."
Ahn Sohee looked at her for a long time, then gave a bitter smile and shook her head.
"Unnie, you're crazy." She said, her voice filled with deep exhaustion, "You are clearly more clear-headed and rational than anyone, how could you do such an irrational thing?"
"Because liking someone is inherently irrational." Min Sunye said, tears finally falling, "Sohee, you will understand in the future."
Ahn Sohee stopped talking. She looked at Min Sunye, then looked at Song Tianhao, her gaze shifting back and forth between the two, and finally, she turned around and walked toward the door.
When she reached the door, she stopped, without looking back.
"President," she said, her voice very cold, "I hope you remember what you said today. If one day you hurt unnie, I will use everything I have to make you pay the price."
After saying this, she opened the door and walked out.
The door slammed shut behind her, making a dull thud.
The living room fell into a dead silence.
Min Sunye stood where she was, tears falling continuously. Song Tianhao stood up, walked in front of her, and reached out to wipe away her tears.
"Don't cry," he said, "It's okay."
"I'm sorry," Min Sunye said while crying, "Sohee... she was just worried about me, she didn't mean it..."
"I know." Song Tianhao said, pulling her into his arms and gently patting her back, "She is your sister, it is only right that she worries about you."
Min Sunye leaned into his arms, crying even harder. Song Tianhao didn't speak, just held her, letting her cry.
After crying for a long time, Min Sunye slowly stopped. She pulled away from Song Tianhao's arms, wiped her tears, her eyes were red, and her nose was also red, like a little rabbit.
"President," she whispered, "What do we do now?"
Song Tianhao didn't answer, but instead walked to the dining table, picked up his phone, and lit up the screen.
The screen displayed over a dozen unread messages, as well as several missed calls, most of which were from Jang Se-hoon.
He tapped on the top one, which was sent by Jang Se-hoon five minutes ago: "President, something has happened. Paparazzi took photos of Ahn Sohee breaking into your apartment early this morning, and they have already been posted online.
The headline is explosive: 'Wonder Girls member breaks into President's home early in the morning, suspected leader's overnight stay exposed'. CJ is fanning the flames, and the trending search has already exploded."
Below it was an attached photo, taken from a distance, the image quality was a bit blurry, but one could clearly see Ahn Sohee's figure standing downstairs at the apartment building ringing the doorbell, she was still wearing yesterday's stage outfit, her expression anxious.
Song Tianhao looked at the photo and smiled.
"What to do?" He turned the phone screen toward Min Sunye, his voice very calm, "Eat first. Then, we will go and bring her back."
