Chapter 61: Ice×Water ElementsThe five of them stepped into the warehouse through the gap that Mia had created. The first thing that came to their minds the moment they entered the place was how huge the warehouse was.

The space inside was over a hundred meters wide! Besides that, it was also very dark.

The next moment, their noses were invaded by a strong smell of decay. The air was thick, stale and almost sticky, as if the air inside the warehouse hadn’t circulated in days.

Broken crates, damaged shelves, and disassembled pieces of machinery littered the place. Some had marks as if they had been gnawed through by sharp mandibles.

Deep claw marks and slimy trails ran along the concrete ground and metal walls of the warehouse, evidence of the creatures that had made this place into their nest.

The concrete floor was uneven as chunks of stones had been displaced from beneath to the surface, giving clear signs that something had burrowed through it. In several spots in the warehouse, wide holes that were wide enough to swallow up two or three people at the same time opened into the darkness below.

Faint shattering sounds echoed through the darkness, multiplying and bouncing off the high ceiling of the warehouse like whispers of warning to the intruders.

Dim red emergency lights flashed from above and cast occasional glows that danced over the fallen crates and shattered glasses on the ground.

Though the emergency lights barely cut through the darkness, the five of them had no problems seeing.

They were all mages after all, and their visions were several times better than those of normal humans.

At the far end of the warehouse, a pile that looked like discarded uniforms and tools lay half-submerged in sticky translucent slime.



Whatever had claimed this place hadn’t just moved in; they had transformed it!

"Tch, this makes me sick." A dissatisfied voice sounded after someone clicked their tongue.

It was Selena who was scanning the place with her eyes. Because of the darkness before them, her eyes seemed to be glowing faintly.

But in fact, it wasn’t just her. Alex and the rest were the same as they observed the place.

As someone at the Expert mage rank, Alex could sense the creatures moving around underneath the warehouse; he believed that Mia could sense them too, there were tens of them!

"Alright, let’s get to work. Watch carefully, Alex, this is something you can’t learn at the academy." Aunt Mia suddenly said as she stepped forward.

The eyes of everyone immediately fell on her figure as they waited to see what she was about to do.


Now standing two meters in front of the group, Mia’s eyes suddenly lit up with blue light that illuminated the space in front of her like a torch. The next moment, shining blue stars began to appear ahead of her, one after the other, in quick succession, and they quickly reached twenty-five stars!

’So she has the water element,’ Alex thought to himself in surprise. Considering the character that Aunt Mia had shown up till now, Alex thought that she would have a different element with strong offensive power.

While Alex and the others watched, the twenty-five blue stars rose above Mia’s head, releasing strong light that bathed the entire warehouse and dispelled the darkness completely. The next moment, thin blue energy threads began to connect the stars into star patterns before combining the star patterns into a huge blue constellation that was like a blue glowing formation above her head.

What shocked Alex was that it had taken Aunt Mia only two seconds to complete this star constellation! Her speed of forming a star pattern was faster than any other he had ever seen!

After connecting the star constellation, a powerful feeling appeared in the warehouse as they could sense the strong water energy; it was as if an invisible large wave was surrounding them.

For a few more seconds, nothing happened. That was until a small drop of water that was tear-shaped appeared in front of Mia, it was only the size of a nail at first, but quickly began to grow bigger and more dazzling.

In less than ten seconds, the small drop of water had transformed into a large body of water that was bigger than the car that they had come in, and Mia looked small in front of it.



This scene shocked Alex. Was this possible? He had never heard of such a thing happening.

As the body of water in front of her grew bigger, Mia glanced at Alex over her shoulder and asked with a smile.

"What do you think happens if a mage gathers the energy of their element for a long time?"

Alex was stunned by her question, gathering the energy of one’s element. What was that?

Right after she asked that question, she didn’t wait for Alex to answer before waving her hands.

The body of water that was now the size of a small house floated in the air like a live creature and followed the movement of her hands. Under her control, it flew deeper into the warehouse before suddenly collapsing onto the ground.

The ground trembled due to the force of the impact, and the body of water immediately exploded and drowned the warehouse.

Alex was further shocked by this, and he couldn’t help but stare at Aunt Mia, wondering what she was trying to do.

Could flooding the place really flush them out?

But seeing how calm Selena and the other two were, he kept calm and watched.

Following the trembling of the warehouse, the water rushed through the countless holes in the floor and left only a small quantity at the surface.

What came next were loud, shattering sounds of the creatures that were underground, as well as the surging water that was making them become so noisy.

The next second, with a loud boom, water shot out from the countless holes like water jets, sending one ant after the other into the air.



It was as if a rain of water and ants was occurring in the warehouse as gravity took action.

"Joan, now!" Mia called out as she watched the ants fall to the ground.

"On it!" The short-haired Joan answered and rushed forward while summoning her pale blue stars; there were only five stars since she was an Adept mage.

Reaching in front of Mia, she began to connect the stars. Her connecting speed also stunned Alex; she was even faster than Laura and had used a bit over one second to form her star pattern!

Immediately after she completed the star pattern, Joan shouted the name of her spell.

"Freezing wave!"

The temperature in the warehouse suddenly dropped as a jet of cold air spread out from her star pattern, frost that was visible to the eyes began to appear the next moment and spread through the warehouse.

Freezing all the water as well as the ants that had just landed on the ground, rendering them unable to move for some time.

Alex was in a daze as he watched; he felt that this was what fights involving mages should look like.

Although Joan’s spell was only at the Adept rank and not supposed to have so much power, it had gotten stronger with the presence of water.

They had turned the floor of the warehouse into a frozen land.
