Chapter 67: The two strongestThe field went into an uproar after Alex’s opponent surrendered and hastily ran out of the ring, the student fled like someone who was being chased by a magic beast; it was as if he was afraid that Alex would refuse his surrender and attack him out of the blue.

Alex, as well as the two teachers, were stunned by the student’s action but quickly recovered. They felt it was only natural that some of the students would choose to forfeit after witnessing what happened to Fabio the previous day. Besides, this wasn’t the first time a student was giving up before the match even started.

With the teacher announcing his victory, Alex walked out of the ring and returned to his previous seat.

Meanwhile, the students discussed as they watched him walk to his seat.

"I don’t blame that kid, though; I would have done the same."

"Only a foolish person would continue with the fight after seeing what happened to Fabio, one should know their limits."

"True, true. Senior Alex isn’t someone anyone can just face, I reckon that only goddess Laura can face him at this point."

"Man, I still think that student was too weak-minded; he should have at least waited a bit; doesn’t he care for his dignity?"

"What’s the use of dignity when your face is swollen or you get trashed around? You’ll only become more ashamed."

"Anyways, now that Senior Alex has won his third match, he only needs to win two more matches before he can qualify for the top 5 and become one of the people to represent the academy."

"Do you think he’ll face goddess Laura within his next two matches?"

"Most likely not; they are both currently the two strongest students, and the academy would want the two of them to represent it in the tournament; they can’t face each other In the tournament."

"Aw man, but I want to see the two of them fight. How will goddess Laura get her revenge for what happened at the theme park?"

The students chatted and Alex quietly listened. He found some of their words to be true, the academy would definitely not want to disqualify either of them now that they had seen what he was capable of; it was only natural that they would want their two strongest students to represent them in the tournament and get a good score.

’Then, how is Laura going to get back at me like she promised?’ Alex thought to himself as his eyes scanned the crowd and quickly located Laura. Coincidentally, she was also staring at him with eyes full of hatred.

A provocative smile immediately formed on Alex’s lips as he mouthed slowly.

’What are you going to do now?’

He made sure to move his lips in a way that Laura would be able to read what he was saying. And as expected, the look in Laura’s eyes instantly intensified and it was as if she was about to spew flames from her eyes as she gritted her teeth.

Alex grinned in satisfaction before resting his back, he found Laura’s reaction to his liking. A thought suddenly appeared in his mind. He had read many comics of enemies turning to lovers; their background story was just like his and Laura’s currently; there was no real reason for hatred, but the grudge between them wasn’t something that could be resolved easily.

It couldn’t be that they would end up becoming a couple in future, right?

At the thought of this, Alex immediately shook his head fiercely to dismiss the thought.

Never, he would never allow such a thing to happen. Who had time for love? Farming exp and becoming the strongest mage was his priority!

And if he ever had time to consider a relationship, it would definitely not be someone like Laura. For some reason, he disliked the girl and wanted to anger her to death!

The competition continued and soon reached Laura’s turn.



Her opponent was a tall boy with a lean build who had the water element, he was a classmate of theirs, a year four student.

Maybe because Alex had already irritated her, the instant the teacher voiced for the fight to begin.

Laura immediately attacked, forming a star pattern in just a second and hurling a large fireball at her opponent.

The boy was terrified by Laura’s ferociousness and hurriedly shouted that he would surrender, but the fireball was already in front of him like a huge boulder, blocking his field of vision and increasing the heat around the boy rapidly.

Luckily, the teachers were not for show and reacted in time.

One of them flashed toward the fireball while the other dashed toward the frightened student and brought him away.

It was a gorgeous female student with a matching yellow cloak around her shoulders. She looked to be around the same age as Alex but her body could rival those of most female teachers.

The girl’s face instantly lit up with a bright smile that reached her eyes when she saw Alex, and she immediately rushed over with a cute run.

"Senior Alex, I’ve been waiting for you!" The student called out, her voice sounding like a sweet melody.

But despite all of the girl’s attempts to act cute in front of Alex, his face was as hard as a rock; he was trying to recall who this person was, she looked familiar.

His eyes flashed as he finally remembered after running through his new memories for a moment. He now recalled why she was familiar, and a wave of emotions surged in his heart.

It was anger!

This student was named Lilian, and she was a second-year student. She had entered the school two years after Alex and had actually become friends with Alex and Nora, the three of them were close...or so they thought.

Because of her, many students started bullying Alex and Nora even more, and she would seem like she was defending the two of them, but in fact, she was enjoying it and would only step in after the students had already done what they wanted to do.

It wasn’t until after a year that she got bored of using others to torture them that she told them the truth in front of their class and walked away.

Alex’s eyes narrowed as he remembered this.
