Chapter 82: Beasts everywhere, exp points!The dust was forcefully dispersed by the remaining earth golems that charged out of it and kept running toward the group of explorers.

Everyone temporarily ignored the charging golems and looked at the scene behind them. The place where the earth golem had crashed into had formed a small pit that was six meters wide; remains of earth golems and three shiny mana cores lay about in the pit.

"Amazing!

"He actually killed three of them with a single spell."

"As expected of the space element, our youngest is impressive."

The others, except Mia, Joan, and Phil, who had already seen Alex in action before, exclaimed when they saw the pit and the state of the three earth golems; they were shocked.

Although they could kill one or two of these earth golems by themselves, it would require them to cast a few spells to get the job done.

But Alex had killed three by using one of them as a cannon. In this regard, even Mia and the other two were stunned.

Without a doubt, Alex was most likely the second-strongest person in their team.

Alex smiled and ignored what they were saying as he focused on his system profile. He now had 110 exp points after killing those three beasts and could now level up!

’But I’ll have to wait till I get back, I won’t be able to hide the changes brought by the breakthrough if I level up here.’ Alex decided as he returned his focus to the incoming golems.



Joan had used freezing breath and had frozen an area of twenty meters in front of them. Without the support of the water element like the last time, the freezing power of Joan’s spells was as powerful as before and had only covered the ground in a small layer of Ice that was only a few centimetres thick.

But this was enough to slow down the incoming earth golems and restrict their movements as the ice-covered their stone feet and their bodies were covered in frost, causing their movements to become stiff.

The golems were only able to forcefully break free and approach the group due to their great strength but this had given the group enough time to act as spells flew out the next moment and drowned the golems.

Less than ten seconds later, all the ice had been destroyed by the rain of spells along with the earth golems trapped in it.

The group proceeded to store the remains and mana cores before they resumed moving.

Just like that, time passed slowly as they continued to move around the Golem valley and kill earth golems. Alex also got more opportunities to use spells as well while Mia continued to follow them like a spectator, these earth golems were not just worth her taking actions personally.

Hours passed and it was already afternoon. The group found a tilted huge boulder with a long shadow to rest under.

They had been killing earth golems for hours, and their soul seas were running out of mana; they had to rest to gather some.

Unlike Alex who was at the Master mage rank and had an enormous soul sea, the others were only at the Adept mage rank; their soul seas would naturally run out of mana after casting spells for so long.

Phil, Joan, and the others found slightly big rocks to sit on and close their eyes to meditate while Mia volunteered to keep watch; she hadn’t done anything during the past hours, so she didn’t need to gather mana.

Alex was also told to rest since he had been casting spells for some time too. While Alex didn’t need to, he didn’t object and sat in a corner with his eyes closed.

He wasn’t absorbing mana, though, since the mana he would manually absorb would just scatter in his body instead of going to his soul sea. After closing his eyes, Alex summoned his system.

Over 600 exp! Alex had killed almost fifty earth golems within the past few hours; he had to admit that the magic beast in the Golem valley was very abundant, and farming exp here would be far better than in his former location.


Earth golems were crawling in almost every corner and he didn’t even need to search for them as he could easily detect lots of them with his high senses as a top mage, Alex didn’t dare to imagine how fast he would level up if he came here by himself and could kill magic beasts within being watched.

He was very excited as this was the most exp he had ever gotten since he started to level up. Not just that, the amount of mana cores and earth golems remains were also a lot; some of the storage rings that they had brought were already filled up!

If he came to a place like this, not only would he level up faster, but he would be able to make a lot of money as well.

’With this amount of exp, I can directly cross the Archmage rank and even reach the Grand Archmage rank!’ Alex thought to himself excitedly.

For some reason, the thought of Dan surfaced in his mind at this moment and he remembered about the kidnapping.

If he became a Grand Archmage, wouldn’t it become easier for him to look for the missing children? He wouldn’t need to fear the Dark Union as well, what could they possibly do to a Grand Archmage?



Alex quickly realised his confident line of thinking and immediately scolded himself, he was starting to get too confident again. According to what he understood from Mia, the Dark Union was a problem for the Union and mages all over the planet.

Was there a shortage of powerful mages who were above the Grand Archmage rank? The answer was no! Although such powerful experts were only one per cent of humanity’s population, there should still be a few thousand of them who had reached the Grand Archmage rank and even those who had surpassed the Sage rank.

If those old monsters couldn’t do anything to the Dark Union even after so many years, what gave him, Alex, the right to be confident!

But then again, that didn’t mean that he was going to give up on looking for the missing children. After all, he had promised Dan that he would save his daughter. He just had to be careful when looking for them and not court death.

’Sigh, how I wish there was a skill or spell that could help me search a large area.’ Alex sighed as he withdrew the system profile.

While in thought, an idea popped up in Alex’s mind.

A skill that could help scan a large area, something like the mana sense of mages but more detailed.

’Wait, wouldn’t that be considered a part of the space...’ Alex did not dare to finish his thought as excitement boiled inside of him, he had a bold idea and immediately summoned a system skill that he had only used once.
