46: Chapter 46 True Word Technique - Divine Words, Advanced Level

Once their shock subsided, Avril opened the cover of the True Word Spell book. After reading the first page from top to bottom, disappointment crept across her face.

"What's wrong?" Zhang Mu noticed her expression and asked curiously.

"It's one of the prerequisites for learning the True Word Spell." She turned the magic book around, facing the first page toward Zhang Mu. "Offer your faith to the gods."

It was a vague statement. Zhang Mu pondered it and asked, "Do you think I can't believe in the gods? Besides... the teacher said that no gods or miracles have ever descended upon the Saul Continent. Are there really gods?"

"It is indeed as the teacher said. As for whether gods truly exist, no one knows." Avril continued flipping through the magic book. "As for you believing in the gods... I think you could do it, Junior, but I don't want you to. Once you believe in the gods, Junior, I don't know exactly what will happen, but it will definitely be terrifying and despair-inducing."

She closed the book. "So, give it up."

After locking eyes with her for a moment, Zhang Mu reached out his hand. "Let me see."

Avril didn't refuse this request, assuming he just wouldn't give up, and handed him the book.

The moment his hand touched the book.

【Skill detected. Learn?】

"Heh." Zhang Mu smiled. I don't know if there are really gods on the Saul Continent, but even if there are...

"Nothing special."

Yes.

"What?" Avril didn't understand.

"It's nothing." He suddenly pulled his hand back. "Since you say so, Senior, I'll leave this True Word Spell to you to handle."

As soon as the words left his mouth, she laughed, smiling very happily. "That's why I believe you can resist the temptation of any desire."

Without further hesitation, she raised her hand. The surging cold air froze the magic book into an ice sculpture, and she smashed it against the stone floor.

"Snap —"

Fine ice shards scattered everywhere. In the larger fragments, one could see tiny scraps of paper with fragmented magic text written on them.

As the ice shards all over the floor melted, the paper became even more shredded, and no characters could be seen anymore.

The True Word Spell, which could stir up all the magicians on the entire continent if thrown out, was destroyed by them just like that.

After dealing with the magic book, their eyes turned to the three identical potions.

Avril picked up a bottle and pulled out the wooden cork. A strange fragrance filled the surroundings, and her tone was somewhat surprised. "God's Gift?"

"What is it used for?"

"It's a potion with powerful healing properties. As long as you haven't breathed your last, even the most severe injuries can be instantly healed. Carrying one on you is like having an extra life."

A very powerful potion, for an ordinary magician.

Zhang Mu was uninterested. He had wanted to give them all to her, but faced with Avril's hands stubbornly thrusting two bottles at him and refusing to take them back, he helplessly accepted one.

"That's enough." Placing the potion into the inventory bag given by Potter, Zhang Mu looked at the five magic books pressing down on the chest lid.

Ice Explosion is an intermediate magic, so it's not needed for now. He'd leave it with Senior for now. After resolving the Magic Beast tide, he would find time to ask for it, take a photo with his phone, and learn it when he could use it later.

As for the other four Trainee magic books...

Zhang Mu picked up the books and selected "Confirm" four times in a row. A flood of information surged into his mind.

After about ten minutes of digesting it, he noticed out of the corner of his eye that Avril was examining him, so he didn't put the book down.

He pretended to spend an hour scanning every page of the four magic books.

"Senior, you keep these magic books."

"Eh?" Avril, who had been staring at his actions, was stunned. When she came to her senses, she already had five books in her hands. "I can use Ice Explosion, but the others, Junior..."

"I've already learned all four of those."

Avril: "..."

Although they were very familiar with each other and she knew Zhang Mu learned magic quickly, saying he had learned them all after flipping through them once—Junior, are you serious?

With that page-turning speed, are you sure you could clearly see the magic text?

She stared at Zhang Mu, her eyes seeming to say, Senior trusts you, but you can't treat Senior like a fool.

To this, Zhang Mu just smiled. He sat cross-legged, activated the Meditation Method, and frantically absorbed the mana in the air.

He had fought that female Thunder Wolf and then spent the night in a running battle with the Thunder Wolf Leader, during which he had constantly cast magic to delay its pace.

His mana had been exhausted and recovered; the experience bar for the Meditation Method was almost full.

After closing his eyes and concentrating for two hours, he opened his eyelids under Avril's gaze, which seemed to be witnessing a miracle, and summoned the panel in his mind.

True Word Spell — God Says (Insufficient conditions for release)】

【Unlocked functions: inventory, Resurrection in Place, Resurrection in City (No city currently bound)】

Magic Shield is an elementary magic and cannot be used for the time being. Shadow Technique, Transformation Technique, and Wind Cage Spell are Trainee magics, so they can be used.

In other words, his Magic Apprentice status is equivalent to a normal-level Apprentice Magician.

The reason for the Meditation Method?

The mana books studied by magicians at each rank are all distributed by the Church...

Is there a problem with the Church, or is the Meditation Method amplified by the panel too strong?

Zhang Mu couldn't be sure in his heart, and instead wondered why his mana attribute had no reaction. Did he need to advance to awaken it?

With no ideas for now, his gaze swept over "True Word Spell — God Says".

That this couldn't be used was within his expectations.

The True Word Spell used by Charlie was a one-time consumable item blessed by the Pope onto a statue of god, similar to a magic tool.

Although that guy was weak, he was at least a monk.

And with the amplification of blessing magic, just five bytes were enough to turn him from a man in his early thirties into a trembling old man instantly.

Reckon that after a while, there might only be a skeleton left.

This was equivalent to a supernatural being losing their life just by using a magic tool. Therefore, the conditions for casting it without side effects were likely not low, and his own Trainee magic-level mana and Mental Energy would definitely not be enough to satisfy them.

After all, he couldn't even use the elementary magic Magic Shield for now; there was no way the True Word Spell could be of a lower level than Magic Shield.

Wait until he levels up to see.

Put away the panel.

Zhang Mu stood up, picked up the wooden staff lying on the bluestone floor, stared into Avril's ice-blue pupils, and lightly raised his right hand holding the staff.

In the six-sided enclosed room, a wind suddenly blew up, instantly gathering into a hollow, pale green wind ball — Wind Cage Spell.

Dispersing the magic, Zhang Mu smiled and said, "Senior, your Junior learns magic very quickly."

Is this a matter of being fast or not?

Avril tilted her head in confusion. You call this learning magic? It's more like eating the magic book directly, right?!

Also, isn't Wind Cage Spell a Trainee magic? Did Junior go to the Church to receive an identification badge?

Even if he went to receive it, he should only be a Magic Apprentice. Why...

"Alright, Senior." Seeing her vacant expression, Zhang Mu clapped his hands together. "We've wasted a lot of time; we need to hurry and deal with the Thunder Wolf Leader."

Coming back to her senses, Avril didn't feel too relieved. "Even if Junior has mastered the Wind Cage Spell, it's still very difficult for the two of us to defeat that Tier 3 Thunder Wolf Leader."

"Rest assured, leave it to me."

The power of the Greater Fireball has increased by several times compared to before, and the qualitatively changed temperature is also higher. Judging from the fact that the previous pure white fireball could scorch its fur black, breaking its defense is definitely not a problem, not to mention that there are also the Greater Wind Blade Spell and the Greater Ice Cone Spell.

As long as he can break its defense, he can slowly wear it to death.

Thinking this, Zhang Mu took out Leah's Lucky Stone, let Avril rest her palm on his shoulder, and poured his mana into it.
