171: Chapter 171 Unlocking the Second Layer
The next day, Su Lin arrived early at the massive six-story Library of Shenglong University, holding a cup of milk tea.
Su Lin looked at the imposing Library, took a sip of milk tea, and his eyes gleamed.
[ You drank a sip of milk tea, Qi and Blood + 1000 ]
A slightly different aura emanated from his body; he had finally reached the ninth level of the Divine Aperture.
[ Current Qi and Blood: 90866 ]
Su Lin was more confident this time than the last. It wasn't just that his strength had improved significantly; more importantly, he had money in his pocket. Even in a high-consumption place like the Library, Su Lin was now completely unfazed.
With a relaxed mood, Su Lin walked straight into the Library again.
As soon as Su Lin entered, many people in the Library immediately noticed him. Even those who didn't know Su Lin, upon seeing the milk tea in his hand, seemed to realize something, had an epiphany, and immediately started whispering with those around them.
"That's Su Lin?! Holy crap! I'm seeing him in the flesh?"
"Is he that Su Lin who's been in the spotlight lately?! He's the one who caused such a huge commotion in the Secret Realm of Swords!!"
"Why did he come to the Library? Could it be that the fortune he obtained in the Secret Realm of Swords wasn't enough?"
Just as everyone was whispering and discussing, Su Lin could be seen continuously looking around at the items displayed on the first floor of the Library.
The first floor not only had martial arts but also various equipment, weapons, and pills; though called a Library, it was actually divided into several major zones.
With one hand stroking his chin, Su Lin scanned the bookshelves and shook his head.
Now, even the rare S-Rank martial arts on the first floor could barely catch his eye. Having seen the vast ocean, the other waters are not worth mentioning. He was someone who had used SS-Rank Martial Arts. Now, even though he had the money and could easily afford to buy some S-Rank martial arts, he couldn't bring himself to care for them; it is hard to go from luxury to frugality.
"It seems the first floor can't satisfy me anymore. Let's go check out the second floor."
When Su Lin first came, he learned that to go to the second floor, one had to spend enough credits to unlock the qualification to ascend.
He immediately walked up to the Library's front desk to ask the staff there.
"Hello, roughly how many credits do I need to spend to go to the second floor?"
The staff member took Su Lin's ID, operated the computer for a moment, and replied.
"Based on your current consumption, you still need to spend 5,000 credits to unlock the qualification to enter the second floor."
"Another 5,000?"
Su Lin said, a bit surprised.
He didn't expect that the qualification to go to the second floor would actually cost so many credits.
Even a popular milk tea shop owner like Su Lin felt this cost was too high. Could normal students really have that many credits to unlock the second floor?
Su Lin judged that most people at Shenglong University would probably spend their entire four years just wandering around the first floor of the Library.
Many people might never be able to reach the qualification to go up to the second floor.
But this didn't scare Su Lin; he smiled slightly.
"5,000 is 5,000. I have plenty of credits now!"
Su Lin said this silently in his heart while walking straight toward the Library's equipment zone and material zone...
The crowd, who had been silently watching Su Lin, gasped in surprise again after seeing his next actions.
Su Lin almost didn't even look, casually picking up expensive pieces of equipment and materials one after another.
"Holy crap! A rich kid! He actually grabbed ten alchemy beads at once! That's several hundred credits in total!"
"And so many Ebony Flowers! These are rare materials, and he just took them without even glancing at them."
"My god! Why is he buying them in sets?! Doesn't everyone just buy individual pieces..."
Everyone watched as Su Lin kept sweeping through the Library. In the blink of an eye, he had bought a pile of items and was holding them full in his arms.
Seeing such an operation from Su Lin, almost everyone on the first floor immediately gasped.
"How is Su Lin so rich!?"
"Is running a milk tea shop that profitable?! He doesn't even look when he buys things!"
"So envious! A single move from him is my monthly credit allowance!!"
Amidst the crowd's envious, jealous, and hateful gazes, Su Lin placed the pile of items at the checkout counter.
"Checkout."
"You want all of these?"
The front desk staff member also looked at the table piled high in front of them with some surprise.
He knew Su Lin was trying to get the qualification to go to the second floor, but Su Lin's extravagant spending still shocked him. As far as he knew, Su Lin was a freshman; where did he get so many credits?
Let alone a freshman, even for a sophomore, if they could slowly accumulate enough through consumption to unlock the Library's second floor before their junior year, they would already be considered the elite among people, and could be said to be doing very well at Shenglong University.
However, Su Lin defied all expectations. Without needing a year, or even a month, he spent several thousand credits all at once.
"I remember you guys just started school less than a month ago."
The staff member said, looking at Su Lin in astonishment.
"Yeah, it's only been less than a month. Otherwise, I would have bought a bit more."
Everyone's hearts skipped a beat. He would have bought more?! How much money can this guy actually make?
The staff member immediately started tallying the bill and said to Su Lin.
"Exactly 5,000..."
"Fine, take it."
Su Lin immediately handed over his credit card, and a clear notification sound immediately came from the front desk, falling into everyone's ears.
"Congratulations, Student Su Lin, on unlocking the qualification for the second floor of the Library."
"Congratulations, Student Su Lin, on obtaining the Library Gold Card. Gold Card rank: one star."
Under the fiery gazes of the crowd, the staff member respectfully handed Su Lin a golden card with a golden star imprinted on it.
Holding the gold card and feeling the coldness of the metal, Su Lin smiled.
"The feeling of spending is really nice."
Another staff member immediately walked out and asked Su Lin.
"Excuse me, Student Su Lin, would you like to go up to the second floor? I can show you the way."
"Sure."
Su Lin nodded, waved his hand, stored the pile of items he bought into his storage ring, and then followed the staff member's footsteps, passed through the barrier on the first floor, and walked up the marble stairs leading to the second floor.
Everyone's heads followed Su Lin as they looked up, watching the figure being ushered up by the staff member, and they immediately gritted their teeth.
"Damn it!! Why are we both freshmen, but Su Lin is so outstanding!! I haven't even finished browsing the first floor, and he can already go to the second floor!?"
"Ahhh! I'm so jealous! I wonder if I'll be able to get to the second floor before I graduate!"
"The items on the first floor are already this good, it's hard to imagine what's on the second floor. Could there be SS-Rank Martial Arts?!"
Everyone, whether they were freshmen who had just started or seniors in their second or third year, let out envious howls on the first floor. Their longing for the second floor was, if anything, even greater than Su Lin's.
