125: Experimentation and Improvement
Two months later, on an industrial planet in the Peaceful Passage.
"Mr. Zhang Huaiyuan."
A man with a sword hilt tucked at his waist leaped down from a flying vehicle, his expression respectful.
"Brother Gore, long time no see."
Zhang Huaiyuan, who was looking down and studying blueprints, couldn't help but look up and smile upon hearing this.
"Indeed, it's been over two years since we last parted."
Gore responded, looking around with some confusion: "Sir, I wonder why you specifically had the Statue of Liberty call for me...?"
"Nothing major... I just designed a new type of combat starship, and well, I'm looking for you to test its strength."
Zhang Huaiyuan reached out and snapped his fingers.
The top of the "starship production workshop" in the distance opened, and a spaceship with an elegant yet imposing design slowly ascended.
"Oh... what a beautiful starship."
Gore's eyes lit up, but judging by the luster on the hull surface filled with Transcendent aura, it definitely surpassed the "Pathfinder" series he led.
"Sir, you came to the right person. It's not bragging, but in the Port of Friendship, whenever something new is brought in, I'm the one responsible for testing it."
A hint of curiosity appeared in Gore's eyes.
He knew of this gentleman's expertise in researching Galaxy Beasts; even The Great Millstone, a Cataclysm-level Disaster Zone that wiped out the Spear of the Sky, had been resolved under his command.
But he didn't know what level the starship he had researched could reach.
"That's great, please, Brother Gore."
The smile on Zhang Huaiyuan's face widened.
He invited this person over because among the experts he knew, this one was in the Port of Friendship, closest to the Golden Star Sea, and was a fervent supporter of the Statue of Liberty, making him relatively trustworthy.
Gore nodded, tapped his wrist to put on his combat suit, took the hilt from his right hand, and pressed it, causing a laser-constructed blade to pop out.
Then he flew straight up into the high starry sky.
"Let's test the stealth and defensive capabilities first."
Zhang Huaiyuan thought to himself, and the entire spaceship flashed with mysterious luster, then vanished, disappearing completely into the shadows.
"Huh!"
Gore blinked, looked at the unresponsive detector again, and a hint of surprise appeared on his face.
But after all, he was an S-Class Transcendent with Transcendence Level abilities; he held his energy longsword horizontally, and invisible blade qi swept across the nearby starry sky.
"Swishβ!"
Most of it dissipated as the distance increased, but only at one spot on the upper right, that blade qi was completely swallowed and disappeared.
"Found you!"
Gore's expression became excited, and he raised his longsword, preparing to slash down, but suddenly remembering something, he hurriedly stopped and asked into the communication device on his wrist:
"Mr. Zhang Huaiyuan, is it okay to cause some slight damage?"
"Yes, just use your discretion when attacking."
"Alright."
Hearing this, Gore used thirty percent of his strength, flicked his longsword, and a hundred-foot-long brilliant blade light tore through the air.
After all, with his strength, if he went all out, even an ordinary SS-Class Star River Beast couldn't withstand three strikes, let alone a starship.
"Bang!"
The blade light squeezed into the shadows, and after less than two-thirds was swallowed, the small shadow space that the legend generation ii Command Ship had slipped into was directly shattered, exposing the hull completely in the void.
Zhang Huaiyuan pointed a finger, and three small defense systems instantly appeared in front of the starship, constructing an Ion Shield that blocked the remaining blade light.
"In the shadow state, it can defend against about one full-power strike from a Double A-Class Transcendent... Any higher or continuous attacks will cause the temporary shadow space to be unable to maintain itself. After being broken, it takes at least an hour to re-enter the shadows. It seems necessary to add another Ion Shield."
Zhang Huaiyuan was lost in thought.
He had just kept True Sight activated throughout the entire process of the blade light attacking the hull, and quickly found the flaws and corresponding remedial plans.
"I have a rough idea of the defensive capabilities, Brother Gore. Next, we need to test its attack capabilities."
"No problem, I'm also a professional at taking hits."
Gore looked at the defense system that had suddenly appeared to block his blade light, his eyes flickering slightly, but he didn't ask any more questions, just nodded with a smile.
Having climbed all the way from the bottom to his current Colonel rank, he naturally knew what should be said and what shouldn't.
"Be careful."
Zhang Huaiyuan thought to himself.
The front section of the legend generation ii Command Ship slowly opened, and an energy-based disk was pushed out, rapidly condensing a powerful gravitational field.
As the gravitational field strengthened and focused, the disk also gradually turned from semi-transparent to a near-solid state.
Meanwhile, two spikes protruded from under the starship, and violent currents constructed an invisible net, quietly spreading toward the target.
"Hmm?!"
On the other side, Gore was surprised to find that he had been restricted by an invisible force at some point.
Of course, this restriction didn't amount to much given his strength, and a wave of his sword tore through the invisible net.
However, the very moment he swung his sword allowed the fully condensed Super-Pressure Gravity Bomb to complete its targeting.
With a momentary roar, the space at the point of impact seemed to collapse into a single point, and then violently exploded!
At the same time, eight secondary cannons extended from each wing of the legend generation ii Command Ship, and brilliant cluster beams were fired almost simultaneously.
"Boom!"
In the center of the earth-shattering explosion, a blade light that pierced through heaven and earth slashed out across the middle.
Gore flashed out, looking somewhat disheveled, and even his combat suit was slightly damaged.
He flew back to Zhang Huaiyuan's side, his eyes filled with unconcealable astonishment: "My god, sir, what kind of weapon is this? If I hadn't used my full strength in time, I would have been seriously injured if I had been hit squarely. This is almost comparable to a full-power strike from a powerful S-Class Transcendent."
"As for that... you wouldn't understand even if I told you."
Zhang Huaiyuan nodded with satisfaction.
Although he already had a rough understanding from simulations, the actual performance of the Super-Pressure Gravity Bomb still pleasantly surprised him.
Being comparable to a full-power strike from an S-Class Transcendent meant it had almost reached the attack power of a Level 9 starship.
The only pity was that the Super-Pressure Gravity Bomb required enchantment with some blood crystals from an SSS-Rank Star River Beast, and the reserves were less than 10,000, so it didn't count as a weapon that could be included in regular attacks.
Furthermore, such rare materials already involved some level 2 rules, and with his current progress in Material Science, he couldn't directly convert them using energy.
"The power supply system doesn't need testing; it is definitely at the forefront of this world. It seems that overall, the legend series Generation II can touch the threshold of a Level 9 starship with the Super-Pressure Gravity Bomb, and even without it, it's good enough for a mid-tier Level 8, which is not bad."
A smile appeared on Zhang Huaiyuan's face.
Mid-tier Level 8 was already the standard of the most elite legions of the three major forces.
And with identical hardware, coupled with the computing power of Asroth and the Statue of Liberty, at the same scale, almost no one was his opponent.
"Add another layer of defense system... increase the power of the secondary cannons... hmm... if I also adjust the circuitry here, it can go into mass production."
Zhang Huaiyuan walked into the workshop, deep in thought.
Gore, who was left on the sidelines, didn't get angry, but instead looked at Zhang Huaiyuan's back with a face full of admiration.
"This is a true master."
