213: resurrection

The continuous stream of attacks lasted for another three years.

After nearly one percent of the entire universe's energy had declined, Venerable Xuan Jian finally reached the point of exhaustion.

After all, he had completely failed to anticipate such a situation and had not brought sufficient supplies.

"No, I refuse to accept this! You cannot kill me, you cannot kill me!"

The nearly demonized Venerable Xuan Jian suddenly regained clarity at the final moment and roared loudly:

"I am the Sect Master of the Xuanjian Sect, and this world is my territory! If you kill me, the people of the Destiny Chamber of Commerce will not let you off!"

"They are the largest world-trading chamber of commerce in Boundless Mountain! If you dare to kill me, according to the regulations of the Slave World Trading Contract, they will definitely come to thoroughly purge this place. When that time comes, neither in heaven nor on earth will anyone be able to save you!"

Seemingly afraid that these natives were too short-sighted to understand the horror of his threat, he hurriedly explained further:

"That is a true colossus; a hundred Xuanjian Sects cannot compare to even one of their branch offices! No matter how much skill you have, you can never be their match."

"Spare me, and I can guarantee I will never trouble you again. I can even let you join the Xuanjian Sect!"

"So, even self-proclaimed 'gods' can feel fear?"

Looking at the final 1 million health points remaining, Zhang Huaiyuan's lips curled into a slightly mocking smile.

"I don't know if I will die, but I can guarantee that, at the very least, you won't be around to see it."

As his voice fell, the 1 billion manifested turrets fired simultaneously once more.

"You will die too, all of you will die! I'll be waiting for you, hahaha!"

With his spiritual energy depleted, Venerable Xuan Jian was no longer able to resist and could only roar in despair.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Countless volleys of firepower descended at the same time.

The last of his health bar was instantly emptied.

He was dead.

"It's finally over."

Zhang Huaiyuan let out a long sigh of relief.

The opponent was indeed a top-tier powerhouse of the level 3 rules. Had he made sufficient preparations and had enough supplies, it would have been uncertain who would have emerged victorious.

Nearly five percent of the energy accumulated by the entire universe over countless years had been consumed.

Due to the loss of energy, the edges of the world had already begun to show signs of decay and collapse that would be difficult to recover from in the short term.

He took a step forward and arrived before the corpses of the Xuanjian Sect members.

With a sweep of his gaze through True Sight, he could see everyone's storage items clearly.

The pills and dharma treasures inside were all used up, leaving only some materials that were precious to the cultivation world but of little value to him.

However, he didn't mind. After all, the most precious things were the corpses of these level 3 cultivation-path experts scattered across the ground!

"Incredible..."

Zhang Huaiyuan scanned Venerable Xuan Jian's corpse, a trace of fanaticism flashing in his eyes as if he were looking at a rare treasure.

"It's much more perfect than my body, which has been strengthened multiple times with genetic potions... So cells can be combined like this... Compared to these powerful cultivators, those 3S-class Galaxy Beasts are truly not even fit to carry their shoes."

In almost an instant, countless genetic modification plans flashed through his mind.

There were 34 bodies in total.

Although they were dead and their bodies could no longer cultivate or absorb energy on their own,

as long as mechanical cores and power supply devices were implanted, their physical strength alone would be enough to rival ordinary level 3 rules experts.

Suppressing the urge to start immediately, Zhang Huaiyuan waved his hand and collected the 34 bodies.

There were still too many things to do right now; it was not the time for secluded meditation.

"First, I'll repair the original world in general, and then I'll resurrect all the lives that were lost."

Previously, to save energy, only those with combat power were resurrected. Now that it was over, he naturally had to restore this world.

Zhang Huaiyuan activated his ability again.

Annihilated planets reappeared, and destroyed civilizations were restored to their original states.

One by one, the living beings who had died under the sword qi of the Xuanjian Sect experts were resurrected.

"Eh..."

But when he prepared to resurrect Emperor Luo—one of the greatest contributors to this war, who had transformed into an insect to slay two Guardians and break the world-prisoning bead—he found that he could not do it.

A terrifying power in the dark was resisting the rules of the game... "It seems the faction that monster belongs to is far more terrifying than imagined."

Zhang Huaiyuan frowned and continued to use his ability to resurrect others.

When he prepared to resurrect the former Star Alliance Head, Morrgan, he encountered the same problem again.

All the elements constituting his life seemed to have completely left this world and were in an unreachable place.

He could only give up with regret.

"Brain, Asroth, the two of you cooperate to get the whole world back to normal operation as soon as possible. Statue of Liberty, I found some materials in those guys' storage items. I've separated those that can construct a spatial topology server; they should help you recover quite a bit."

After the basic restoration was complete, Zhang Huaiyuan spoke to his wrist.

"Understood, Sir/Master."

"Thank you, Your Excellency."

Three different voices rang out simultaneously.

Having finished his instructions, Zhang Huaiyuan was about to take a look beyond the heavens when he suddenly paused.

He suddenly thought of something.

Since everyone who died after the world was 100% gamified could be resurrected... what about those who died before?

Thinking of this, his heart couldn't help but beat violently.

A long-buried memory surfaced in his mind:

The Imperial Mining Zone of Blackstone Star.

"Behave yourselves! All of you, kneel down and lift your heads!"

A fierce-looking soldier kicked a group of captured mine slaves to the ground.

"This is the last batch of mine slaves for this year. If anyone catches your eye, you can take them back for just 2,000 Star Coins."

The soldier shouted to a group of onlookers: "These people are of slave status. After you buy them back, you can work them to death or kill them directly to satisfy your special hobbies; the Imperial laws won't care!"

His words made it seem as if these were not a group of people, but merely pieces of cargo.

And Zhang Huaiyuan had been one of them.

At that time, he had just transmigrated. He had not awakened his abilities and knew nothing about the world before being bound with a limiter and sent to the Blackstone Star mining area.

If that Star Mechanic teacher hadn't appeared and bought him, his final end would likely have been dying in an underground mine after being squeezed of his last bit of value.

Perhaps to the other party, it was just a simple gesture, or perhaps he saw some quality in him.

But to himself, it was a life-saving grace that should be repaid manifold.

Zhang Huaiyuan took a deep breath and tentatively activated his ability.

Soon, the figure of a middle-aged man, extremely ordinary in both dress and appearance, slowly condensed.

"Damn 'Wild Wolves', I'll fight you to the end!"

He seemed to still be stuck in his memories from before death. As soon as he opened his eyes, the words burst out, and his hand reached for his waist.

"Eh... Where's my gun... No, where is this? Where are those bastards from the Wild Wolves?"

The next moment, he looked around with a confused gaze. He soon discovered a man nearby who looked very noble, with a temperament a hundred times more outstanding than even the highest-ranking mining district security captain he had ever seen.

"My... My Lord..."

He suddenly felt a surge of panic. Out of instinctive reaction, his legs buckled as he subconsciously prepared to bow.

"Teacher Vidi, it's me. Don't you recognize me?"

Zhang Huaiyuan hurriedly supported him and spoke.

"Teacher?"

Hearing this, the middle-aged man was stunned. Only then did he realize the other person's face looked very familiar, as if... "You are... Zhang Huaiyuan!"
