110: Cross-border conspiracy

Now, Star Devourer's discovery was like a bolt of lightning that split through the dense fog, allowing him to instantly connect two seemingly unrelated clues.

"Star Devourer, are you sure?" Chu He communicated with the Mecha Beast in his mind, his tone more solemn than ever before. "Is the energy signature of this Beacon truly from the same source as the enemy that severely wounded you?"

"Confirmed, Master." Star Devourer's cold and absolutely certain mechanical voice came from the bracer. "The energy frequency of this Beacon is a perfect match for the standard Beacons used by the Star-Devouring Demon Clan's reconnaissance units, with an error rate of less than one in a billion. Its stealth mode is a typical 'parasitic hibernation' style. If I weren't on the same planet and didn't possess higher core authorization, I wouldn't have been able to detect it at all."

Having received a definitive answer, a storm of shock surged within Chu He's heart.

A terrifying conjecture emerged in his mind, becoming clearer and clearer.

The "Outer-Realm Heavenly Demons" appearing in the Xuanhuang Realm and the "Star-Devouring Demon Clan Beacon" lurking on this Azure Star were actually from the same group!

This terrifying race had not only left coordinates in his home world in preparation for a massive invasion, but they had also placed pawns in this Technological Wasteland World millions of miles away!

This was no longer a simple invasion of a single world.

This was a massive conspiracy spanning the heavens and targeting countless worlds!

And he, Chu He, along with the Primordial Dragon God Bloodline he carried and his exceptionally gifted children—especially the unborn fetus possessing the Chaos Sacred Body—happened to be the ultimate targets of these Cosmic Locusts!

"Damn it!"

An uncontrollable surge of fury and killing intent welled up in Chu He's heart.

He had originally thought that his greatest enemy was merely the "Outer-Realm Heavenly Demon" hiding behind the scenes. As long as he increased his strength as quickly as possible and made full preparations before the enemy arrived, he could keep his Family safe.

But now it seemed he had oversimplified things.

The enemy was far more massive and organized than he had imagined. They were like an invisible net that had already quietly spread across the Myriad Heavens and Myriad Realms, while he and his Family were merely prey about to be harvested.

An unprecedented sense of crisis weighed heavily on Chu He's heart like a massive mountain.

His cultivation at the Early Soul Transformation Stage might allow him to act without restraint in the Xuanhuang Realm, but against a cosmic-level civilization capable of destroying star systems at will, he likely wouldn't even qualify to be cannon fodder.

No!

He had to become stronger before their large-scale arrival! Strong enough to protect everything!

Chu He's eyes became incomparably determined.

His original urgency to return was instantly replaced by calmness and decisive ruthlessness.

He looked at the world passage leading to the Xuanhuang Realm that had already been constructed before him; there wasn't a hint of hesitation in his eyes.

This lurking Beacon was like a time bomb planted right next to him; if he didn't deal with it, he would never have peace of mind.

Who knew if this Beacon would suddenly activate after he left, exposing this Azure Star—which he already viewed as his Family's "backup resource reserve" and "tech R&D center"—directly to those Cosmic Locusts?

He would never allow such a thing to happen.

"Star Devourer, locate the specific position of that Beacon," Chu He ordered coldly.

"Analyzing... The target is at an extreme depth, located in the planet's core. Based on the energy response, it seems to be parasitizing a massive, high-density energy source," Star Devourer quickly provided feedback.

"The core, huh..."

A flicker of realization flashed in Chu He's eyes.

The most dangerous place is often the safest. By hiding the Beacon in the core and using the planet's massive mass and violent energy as cover, even a Soul Transformation Stage Cultivator's Divine Sense would find it difficult to detect something so deep without disturbing the world's Origin.

If not for having an "insider" like Star Devourer, he might have never known until his dying day that such a massive hidden danger lay beneath his feet.

"Master, shall we go and destroy it now?" An eager ripple came from Star Devourer's consciousness. It also harbored a deep-seated hatred for this enemy that had severely wounded it and forced it into a slumber for countless ages.

"No rush."

Chu He shook his head, his gaze sweeping over Invincible in the East, Anya, and the others who stood respectfully by his side.

He turned and spoke indifferently to the crowd, who were already too terrified to make a sound. "The plan has changed. I need to enter seclusion here for a period of time. Until I emerge, continue to execute all previously issued orders without error."

"Yes, Master!" Invincible in the East and the others hurriedly bowed in acceptance, though their hearts were in turmoil.

They didn't know what had happened, but for a god-like existence to change plans on the spot and even use a term like "seclusion," something world-shaking must have occurred.

Chu He ignored them. With a thought, the world passage before him slowly closed, eventually vanishing into nothingness.

He had to make thorough preparations.

The core was different from the surface; the environment there was extremely harsh, the Laws were chaotic, and the pressure was great enough to instantly crush a Nascent Soul Cultivator into powder. Even as a Soul Transformation Cultivator, he couldn't afford to be careless.

More importantly, since that Beacon was something even Star Devourer found troublesome, it certainly wasn't simple.

No one knew what kind of accidents might be triggered during the process of destroying it.

He needed to bring his condition to its peak.

"Lead the way."

Chu He gave Star Devourer a brief command.

In the next moment, his figure vanished from the spot as if he had never been there.

Meanwhile, in the City Lord's Mansion of Dragon City, Invincible in the East and the others finally dared to breathe heavily, looking at each other with deep shock and awe in their eyes.

"Pass down my orders," Invincible in the East took a deep breath, his voice trembling slightly. "Double the workload of the Resource Exploration Legion! Keep the Gene Laboratory running twenty-four hours a day without interruption! We must prepare everything the Master needs at the fastest possible speed!"

He didn't know what Chu He intended to do, but he knew that a greater storm might be rising on the other side of the horizon.

And the only thing ants like them could do was to give their all and demonstrate their value before this deity's wrath was unleashed.
