107: Dual-core combined to forge a divine cannon; the monstrous offspring run rampant, devouring the demon's nest.

Chapter One Hundred and Ten: Dual Cores Combine to Forge a Divine Cannon, The Vile Spawn Loses Control and Devours the Broodmother Nest

The underground Research Center of the East Sea Barrier Base had now become the core of hope for all of humanity.

Over twenty American scientists seamlessly integrated with the Dawn City research team. The technical data for the Railgun in the explosion-proof cases was rapidly imported into the Red Alert technology conversion system. In the laboratory, holographic projections displayed the genetic sequence of the Doomsday Seed and the energy conduction model of the Railgun. These two top-tier technologies from different continents were quickly fused in the hands of the scientists.

"The American Railgun uses electromagnetic acceleration principles; it has enough power, but the rate of fire is too slow to handle massive amounts of alienated creatures." The Old Professor pointed at the data on the projection, his tone urgent. "We need to combine the red alert magnetic storm energy core with the Railgun's acceleration track to create a 'Railgun'!"

The Dawn City Research Team Leader nodded in agreement, his fingertips moving rapidly across the virtual keyboard. "Exactly! The instantaneous explosive nature of magnetic storm energy can compensate for the Railgun's rate of fire deficiency. Furthermore, our anti-resonance technology can be embedded into the shell's warhead, giving it both physical penetration and energy neutralization effects to directly destroy the energy cores of alienated creatures!"

The gears of the joint task force turned at high speed. The American scientists were responsible for optimizing the material of the Railgun's acceleration track, using Vibranium Alloy to enhance high-temperature and pressure resistance. The Dawn City research team focused on the stable output of magnetic storm energy, perfectly adapting the energy conduction modules of the red alert system to the Railgun. In the laboratory, sparks from welding torches flew everywhere, and the fans of the supercomputers hummed. Scientists took turns standing guard, munching on compressed biscuits when hungry and napping on desks when tired; no one dared to slack off in the slightest.

Seven days and seven nights later, the prototype of the first Railgun made its debut at the testing grounds of the Northern Steel Base.

This massive cannon was fifteen meters long, its barrel nested within three layers of Vibranium Alloy. Huge magnetic storm energy cores were mounted on both sides of the cannon body, with blue electricity dancing across the surface, emitting a heart-palpitating pressure. The muzzle was aimed at a steel target in the distance that simulated an alienated creature, and the Old Professor pressed the launch button.

"Vrrr—!"

Magnetic storm energy instantly flooded the acceleration track. A silver-white energy beam, wreathed in blue electric arcs like the spear of a god, tore through the air and struck the steel target with precision.

"Boom!"

After a violent explosion, a massive crater ten meters deep appeared on the fifty-meter-diameter testing ground. The steel target had long since been reduced to powder, and charred black marks from the magnetic storm energy's burning remained on the crater walls, along with dark purple patterns left by the anti-resonance energy.

"Success!" Thunderous cheers erupted in the laboratory as scientists embraced and wept. This Railgun's rate of fire was three times that of traditional Railguns, and its power was sufficient to pierce the hard shells of alienated creatures in a single strike. More importantly, it could neutralize the energy field of the Doomsday Seed, stripping it of its regenerative abilities.

Lin Zhou stood by the testing ground, looking at the majestic giant cannon. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes. "Mass-produce it immediately! Install Railguns on all apocalypse tanks and warships! Additionally, establish specialized Railgun batteries and deploy them along the Far East United Defense Line!"

Just as human technology achieved a breakthrough, a brutal backlash was taking place in the Skeleton Serpent's undersea base deep in the Pacific Ocean.

The cracks in the broodmother seed grew wider and wider, the crimson light illuminating the entire base like a purgatory. The new generation of Mutants that Candle Dragon had poured all his heart into cultivating—the "God Devourers"—had already broken through the restraints of their incubation pods and were rampaging wildly inside the base.

These God Devourers fused the flesh of an evil god, the regeneration of the Spirit-Devouring Tree, and the corrosive properties of the Doomsday Seed. They stood twenty meters tall, their bodies covered in scales that could resist energy attacks. They could spit highly corrosive dark purple acid from their mouths, and their claws could easily tear through alloy. Even more terrifying was that they possessed no reason, driven only by instinct; everywhere they went, every living thing was devoured.

In the corridors of the base, screams rose one after another. The Skeleton Serpent's researchers and guards were like ants before the God Devourers. One researcher tried to activate the emergency lockdown doors but was instantly impaled through the chest by a God Devourer's claw. A team of guards equipped with energy weapons fired frantically at a God Devourer, but the energy beams only left faint white marks on its scales, which instead enraged it, and they were instantly dissolved into a pool of bloody water by acid.

"Quick! Close the gates to the core area!" Candle Dragon roared into his communicator from the control center. His face was pale, his eyes filled with fear and resentment—the monsters he had personally created were now set to destroy him completely.

The alloy gates of the core area slowly descended, temporarily blocking the God Devourer's pursuit. But from outside the door came the sound of violent impacts, and cracks quickly appeared in the gates under the God Devourers' claws and acid attacks.

"Sir, the energy supply to the core area has been cut off! The God Devourers destroyed the power room!" a Technician shouted in terror.

Candle Dragon looked at the flashing alarms on the screen and slammed his fist onto the control console. "Useless! You're all useless!"

He never imagined that in his pursuit of ultimate power, he would cause the Mutants to spiral completely out of control. These God Devourers were not only devouring the personnel in the base but were also frantically gnawing on the energy conduits of the broodmother seed—they needed more energy to complete their further evolution.

"Sir, we must evacuate immediately!" the guard captain pulled Candle Dragon toward the emergency escape pod. "Any later and it will be too late!"

Being forcibly dragged away, Candle Dragon looked back at the screens in the control center. On the screens, the gates to the core area had already been breached by the God Devourers, and those hideous figures were sprinting toward the control center. Fires had broken out in various sectors of the base, with explosions occurring one after another. The once impregnable undersea base had now become a hunting ground for the God Devourers.

"My life's work... my world-ending plan..." Candle Dragon let out a desperate roar, his eyes filled with madness and malice. "Lin Zhou! It's all because of you! If you hadn't forced me to accelerate the cultivation of the God Devourers, how could they have lost control! Even if I die, I'll drag you down with me!"

The hatch of the emergency escape pod slowly closed as it sped toward the surface. Meanwhile, in the undersea base, the God Devourers had already devoured the energy core of the broodmother seed. Their bodies surged in size once again, and even more eerie patterns appeared on their scales. An energy more terrifying than that of an evil god was quietly awakening in the deep sea.

At the same moment, atop the command tower of the East Sea Barrier Base.

Lin Zhou stood by the railing, gazing at the calm sea in the distance, but his heart felt as if it were weighed down by a giant stone, and a strong sense of unease welled up. The alarm of the Skynet System chirped lowly. On the screen, the energy readings from the depths of the Pacific Ocean were skyrocketing, the curve so steep it was nearly vertical, far exceeding the peak seen when the evil god had appeared.

"Something's wrong," Lin Zhou whispered to himself, his fingertips tapping lightly on the railing. "This kind of energy fluctuation is definitely not something a normal alienated creature could trigger. Something must have happened on the Skeleton Serpent's side."

He turned abruptly and gave a low, firm command into his communicator: "All forces enter Level 1 combat readiness! The Far East United Defense Line and all East Sea port bases are to immediately initiate maximum-level defense protocols. The Railgun batteries are to be on standby 24/7, and the Apocalypse Tank Division is to assemble in full!"

The orders were rapidly transmitted to every unit, and Dawn City's war machine instantly went into full gear. On the East Sea surface, the sonar of patrol warships was turned to maximum power, locking onto every slight movement in the deep sea. Along the Far East line, the barrels of the Railguns were slowly raised, aiming at the directions where the alienated legions might appear. skynet satellites adjusted their orbits, focusing their lenses on the coordinates of the Skeleton Serpent's undersea base, not missing a single detail.

"Check again!" Lin Zhou stared at the jumping red dots on the screen, his eyes sharp as an eagle's. "Analyze the specific characteristics of the energy fluctuations. Compare them with the genetic energy profiles of the Spirit-Devouring Tree and the Lord of the Abyss. I want to know exactly what happened at the bottom of the sea!"

The Intelligence Staff Officer's fingers flew across the keyboard, sweat sliding down his temples. Soon, an analysis report was presented to Lin Zhou: "Commander! We've detected genetic sequence characteristics of the God Devourer within the energy fluctuations, and there's energy turbulence! Preliminary judgment—the Skeleton Serpent's new Mutant has lost control!"

Lin Zhou's pupils constricted suddenly. Lost control?

Just as that thought flashed by, a skynet satellite suddenly captured a weak signal source moving from the deep sea toward the Huaxia coastline. The signal characteristics perfectly matched the Skeleton Serpent's emergency escape pod.

A cold, sharp arc slowly curled at the corner of Lin Zhou's mouth.

He picked up the communicator, his voice carrying an unquestionable authority: "Order the offshore patrol fleet to immediately lock onto that signal source! Activate the Skynet System to conceal our movements and intercept the target at all costs! I want him alive!"

A hunt to catch a turtle in a jar had begun. Inside the escape pod, Candle Dragon was still completely unaware; his mind was filled with thoughts of revenge, never expecting that he had already become Lin Zhou's prey.
