175: Chapter 175 Too Late to Run

In the ancient records of their race, the Yao Race had long been extinct, existing only in ancient legends as extremely rare, high-order life forms. Each one was a research specimen of immense value.

If they could capture a live Yao Race specimen and bring it back to headquarters, the entire squad would achieve a monumental merit and rise rapidly in their careers.

A trace of intense greed flashed instantly in the captain's eyes, though he quickly suppressed the shock in his heart.

The person before them had no mecha, no guns or cannons, and was hovering in the air purely by his Physical Body. Every characteristic matched the Yao Race described in the ancient records exactly.

He immediately opened the squad's public channel, his tone decisive and cold.

"All units, attention! Re-evaluate the target!"

"The target is not human; it is classified as a living ancient Yao Race specimen!"

"Cancel the original mission. The entire squad is to switch to live capture mode! Lethal attacks are prohibited! Prioritize immobilization, crowd control, and crippling mobility. You must take it alive!"

The nine team members instantly shifted from a state of alert to excitement.

A rare Yao Race specimen—this was an Opportunity that one could only encounter by luck, not by seeking.

The ten-man standard mecha squad immediately maneuvered, spreading out to form a complete encirclement formation. They locked down the entire airspace, completely sealing off all escape routes.

The captain stared at Mo Yufei, who remained motionless in the sky, and quickly swiped across the control panel to initiate a tactical contingency plan.

"Target's strength is unknown. Initiate a probe first!"

"Unit 1 and Unit 2, move out! Activate low-energy shock cannons and magnetic restraint nets! Conduct a long-range probe! Harass only, do not kill; collect the target's defensive data! All other units, stand by and be ready to fill in the gaps for the blockade!"

Two silver mechas immediately dashed out of the formation.

The muzzles on the mechas' shoulders flipped, glowing with a pale blue energy-charging light, while the launchers on their outer arms clicked and popped out precise capture-lock devices.

The next second, two shock cannons fired, tearing through the air and charging toward the high altitude with a piercing roar.

Following closely behind, two pitch-black, high-strength magnetic restraint nets expanded rapidly. Like two massive hunting nets, they carried a binding force specifically designed for living organisms, slamming fiercely toward Mo Yufei.

The remaining eight mechas aimed their muzzles skyward, engines fully charged, their body patterns glowing as they stared intently at the sky, ready to provide backup and maintain the encirclement at any moment.

In the eyes of these ten extraterrestrial mecha soldiers, the Mo Yufei in the sky was not an enemy at all, but a delivered ancient Yao Race specimen of immeasurable value.

High above, Mo Yufei let his wings droop, watching the squad's smooth, practiced capture operation in silence.

He could hear everything clearly; the squad channel was filled with orders about "Yao Race specimen" and "live capture for research."

A trace of cold amusement slowly emerged in his eyes; he only found these people ignorant and ridiculous.

The two shock cannons exploded in front of Mo Yufei, sending violent air currents sweeping in all directions. The gale blew wildly, attempting to force him to reveal his defenses and expose a flaw.

But a scene that left everyone stunned appeared.

All the impact and air currents collided against a faint white light barrier in front of Mo Yufei and instantly vanished without a trace.

Not to mention hurting him, they didn't even stir the corner of his clothes.

Before the two powerful magnetic nets, capable of trapping high-order Vicious Beasts, could even reach Mo Yufei, the golden electric arcs swirling around the wings on his back flashed.

The magnetic nets were pierced with large holes in mid-air, followed by a few crisp cracking sounds as they shattered directly into countless tiny black specks, dissipating completely.

The pair of white wings behind Mo Yufei flapped slowly, and with his arms crossed, he remained steadily suspended in the sky.

The detection screens of the ten mechas below instantly cleared their data.

[Impact ineffective]

[Immobilization ineffective]

[Unable to lock onto target energy]

Every cockpit fell into instant silence.

The two members who had just attacked felt their pupils contract, their minds blank; they couldn't believe the scene before them.

"How is that possible... It had absolutely no effect?"

The astonishment on the captain's face could no longer be suppressed. He gripped the control stick tightly, feeling an intense sense of unease rise in his heart for the first time.

The probing equipment they used was the squad's most reliable method for testing; even a high-order mutated Vicious Beast could absolutely not ignore it completely.

Mo Yufei lowered his head slightly, his indifferent gaze sweeping over the ten mechas encircling him below.

His voice was not loud, yet it clearly penetrated into the communication channel of every mecha.

"Are you done probing? Can you understand me?"

"No answer!"

The moment his words fell, the pristine white wings behind Mo Yufei vibrated gently.

All the cultivation within his body was instantly mobilized and poured entirely into his Wind Element Ability.

The airflow in the entire airspace was instantly and completely under his control. Invisible gales formed rapidly with him at the center, transforming into a Domain of wind that covered the entire field.

A low, humming vibration spread out.

The ten precision mechas below shook violently all at once!

The shoulder cannons of Unit 1 and Unit 2 bent and cracked directly; their just-charged attack modules were ruined on the spot, and the outer armor of the mechas split with dense, spiderweb-like cracks.

The hover engines of all the mechas instantly overloaded, red and blue warning lights flashed frantically, and piercing alarm sounds flooded every cockpit.

[Mecha body damaged!]

[Power System abnormal!]

[Encirclement formation collapsed!]

The originally seamless encirclement was shattered directly by this pure Wind Element Ability.

The ten expensive, top-performing extraterrestrial mechas were like a pile of scrap metal blown away by a gale; they slid backward uncontrollably, shaking and jolting, unable to stabilize their bodies at all.

The mecha captain broke out in a cold sweat, his scalp tingling intensely.

He had originally been full of greed, thinking about hunting a rare Yao Race specimen and achieving a great merit.

At this moment, he realized with horror that from beginning to end, the hunt they thought they were conducting was just a ridiculously amusing game of self-entertainment.

Piercing malfunction alarms blared incessantly, and the red and blue lights flashed frantically, illuminating the captain's pale face in a particularly ghastly way.

He stared fixedly at the screen filled with red malfunction alerts, watching as ten mechas were crushed like this by the opponent simply flapping his wings. His heart felt as if it were being tightly squeezed, and his whole body went cold.

All the previous excitement and greedy thoughts were now shattered completely.

What ancient Yao Race specimen? This was simply a top-tier, terrifying existence they could not afford to provoke!

"Captain... the stabilization System has collapsed! He didn't even really make a move; he just flapped his wings!" A team member's trembling voice, laced with a cry, sounded in the channel.

They had fought across countless Star Domains and suppressed countless Vicious Beasts, but they had never seen such an absurd gap in combat power.

Without relying on weapons or bombardment, simply by the wind pressure brought about by his Physical Body and wings, he had crushed an entire elite mecha squad.

The captain gritted his teeth, his knuckles turning white as he clenched them, and cold sweat dripped continuously from his forehead.

The ancient records only wrote that the Yao Race had a tough Physical Body and special talents; they never wrote that they could be terrifying to this level!

The two sides were completely not in the same dimension of combat power!

He no longer dared to utter a single word about capturing the specimen; all that remained in his heart was extreme fear. The only thought he had now was to run!

"Cancel all capture orders! Cancel them immediately!"

The captain issued the order, almost screaming, his voice full of panic.

"Target classification error! This is not a normal Yao Race! It's a top-tier, transcendent Vicious Beast! Abandon the live capture! Everyone, output at maximum power! Charge all main cannons! Use full force to attack and suppress, and everyone prepare to retreat!"

Being able to escape back alive would already be the greatest stroke of luck.

"Maximize all shields! Open the defense matrix fully! Unlock main cannons, secondary cannons, and tracking missiles! Saturation fire coverage! Hold the target back!"

Hearing the captain's order to fight to retreat, the ten teetering mechas forced themselves to stabilize their bodies.

The piercing roar of weapons charging up instantly resounded across heaven and earth.

The energy cores in the chests of each mecha lit up with a blinding crimson light, and all hidden weapon modules on their shoulders, backs, and arms fully deployed.

Dense muzzles aimed at Mo Yufei in the high altitude, and scarlet lock-on cursors stuck firmly to his figure.

[Weapon Systems fully unlocked]

[Power output at one hundred percent]

[Armor-piercing shells, disintegration cannons, and tracking missiles ready]

The sky was filled with cannon fire, dimming the heavens, and an overwhelming killing intent shrouded the entire airspace.

This was the entire trump-card combat power of this mecha squad, enough to flatten a mountain range head-on and tear apart the Physical Body of the toughest heavy-armored Vicious Beast.

All team members' nerves were stretched to the limit, their bodies stiff, and their palms covered in cold sweat.

They pinned all their hopes on this wave of saturation fire, praying only to slightly injure the opponent and buy themselves a sliver of a chance to escape.

High above, Mo Yufei watched the ten mechas below preparing to run, firing with all their might.

Mo Yufei spoke softly, his tone flat yet carrying an absolute sense of suppression.

"Yo, brothers, are you getting ready to run? Isn't it a bit too late for that?"
