2: Newbie Gift Pack

"Okay! Add me as a friend, then submit the trade on the trading platform."

"Brother! Where did you get your supplies? Why don't I have anything?"

"On the bottom right of the control panel, there's a cover. Pull it open, and inside is the Newbie Gift Pack (newbie gift pack)."

Luo Chen heard this, and immediately pulled open the cover on his right. Inside were a few items:

Two bags of instant noodles, two 2L bottles of mineral water, one box of matches (10 sticks), one entrenching tool, and a blue cube, somewhat resembling a large CPU.

Luo Chen held the cube, turning it over and over, unsure of its purpose, so he temporarily set it aside.

"I got 2 loaves of bread, 2 buckets of water, and a kitchen knife."

"I got 2 compressed biscuits, 2 bottles of 555ml mineral water, a book, and a lighter. But I don't recognize the words on it. Does anyone need it?"

"We're all from Xia Guo. If you can't understand it, what good is it? Supplies are more important."

"Exactly! Exactly."

"I see nothing on the Train. I don't know if there are any more supplies. I suggest everyone conserve their supplies."

"Thanks, big shot!"

"I'm a bit better than the person upstairs: 2 compressed biscuits, 2 1L bottles of water, a flint, and a saw. Not bad."

"I have an eggplant. Are there any young ladies who need it?"

...Many people were sharing their Newbie Gift Pack (newbie gift packs) in the group. But it was unclear whether it was true or false.

There were probably many like him, who only read messages but didn't speak.

Luo Chen didn't take everything as truth. However, he did summarize things roughly.

He found that most people would have 2 bottles of water, two food items, and one tool, which he presumed were guaranteed drops.

As for the other items they opened, almost everyone kept them hidden.

Furthermore, he hadn't seen anyone else post their mission. He figured there were special rules preventing such information from being shared.

Luo Chen closed the chat room.

Since everyone had tools, then exploring for supplies later would likely involve danger.

Luo Chen checked the time; it was 1 PM.

He decided to practice with the entrenching tool to prepare for unknown dangers.

After half an hour of practice, he felt a bit tired and stopped.

He didn't dare to practice for too long, otherwise, if he ran out of energy tomorrow, it would be a big problem.

He checked the time; it was only a little past 1 PM.

He opened the chat room and found it had become quiet. Some people had exhausted their Number of speeches (speaking chances), while others had no intention of speaking.

He casually glanced at a few chat records and found it was just past 2 PM.

Feeling a bit bored, he got up and wandered around the Train. The Train was empty, with nothing inside.

Accustomed to playing on his phone, he felt a bit lost without it for a moment.

After thinking for a while, unable to come up with anything interesting, Luo Chen simply lay down on the driver's seat.

Unable to sleep immediately, he could only recall his experiences over the past 20-plus years.

He had been an orphan since childhood, growing up in the Guo Yu Institute. There were many children like him there.

With social stratification becoming entrenched, more and more young people, unable to escape the shackles of class, chose not to have children, preferring to live for the moment. If they accidentally became pregnant, they could give birth and hand the child over to the Guo Yu Institute, but the price was that parents and child would no longer have any contact.

Furthermore, children from the childcare institute had to earn money to repay the Guo Yu Institute's upbringing fees after they grew up.

Thus, after his college entrance exam, Luo Chen resolutely chose medicine, and after 5 years of graduation, he became an obstetrician-gynecologist at a local hospital. This was simply because choosing such a major not only offset a portion of the upbringing fees but also guaranteed job placement.

And only those who truly loved or had money would choose to raise offspring.

Recalling the ups and downs of his past 20-plus years, Luo Chen realized that his current situation wasn't so bad; at least he didn't have to live for others.

Unconsciously, he fell asleep... The time reached 6 PM!

A wave of hunger pulled him from his sleep.

"It's only six. I'm so hungry." Luo Chen shook his slightly numb arm, struggling to stand up from the seat.

Although the driver's seat was very soft, sleeping in such a position was truly uncomfortable.

After a simple stretch and a drink of water, Luo Chen began to dry-eat instant noodles.

He had no pot, no firewood, so he could only swallow them dry with water.

After eating and drinking his fill, Luo Chen reopened the chat room.

At this time, the chat room had become lively again.

"So bored! Is anyone talking?"

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Where are you from?"

"Dongshan. Male, 24 years old, likes females, height..."

"Brother! Why are you posting so much detail?"

"Brother! I'm from Jinshui. Male, 28 years old, likes males. You look fair and tender, add me as a friend."

"No choice, too few chat chances, so I can only send more at once. Are there any young ladies willing to trade 'original flavor' items for supplies?"

"Me too! Me too! So boring. I originally wanted to relieve myself, but without assistance, I can't do it."

"I'll trade, I'll trade, add me, I only want instant noodles."

"Luckily my boyfriend is next to me, but it's a bit regrettable that he's already exhausted."

...Luo Chen looked at the messages in the chat room and felt that the content was becoming increasingly wild. It seemed that half a day had already driven some people crazy.

Luo Chen browsed for a while, and then, finally, a useful message appeared.

"Friends, I suggest not staying up late tonight. Tomorrow morning at 8 AM, the Train will stop at the first station. There's no alarm clock inside the vehicle, so don't oversleep."

"Damn! I didn't expect that even after transmigrating, I'd still have to wake up early for 8 AM. I'm breaking down!!"

"Haha, I'm used to 6 AM, so suddenly 8 AM feels a bit unusual!"

"Flexing, sister."

...Watching message after message, occasionally interjecting one, the time finally dragged on to 8 PM.

By then, there weren't many messages left in the chat room.

Closing the chat room, Luo Chen lay down on the carriage floor.

Looking at the starry sky outside the window, he unconsciously fell asleep... Dawn.

A white light woke Luo Chen from his sleep.

Luo Chen rubbed his eyes, preparing to turn over and continue sleeping.

At that moment, he suddenly remembered something and quickly sprang up from the floor.

Looking at the vast whiteness outside the window, Luo Chen hurriedly ran to the driver's seat and sat down.

At this moment, a line of text was displayed on the screen:

"The Train is connecting to the Fragmented World."

"Train Station: Starting Point 11 (Connected to this world, no treasure chest)."

"Note: This world is a single-Train world; only one Train will stop here."

"Train docking time: 5 hours. Train Conductor, please board the Train in time."

"Train connection countdown: 3"

"Train Conductor, please wait at the door for the countdown to end, and click the button on the right side of the door to open it."

"Note: The door has built-in biometric identification. The Train Conductor does not need to worry about others entering through this method."

Seeing this, Luo Chen quickly grabbed the entrenching tool and ran to the door. Feeling that the time was right, he clicked the button.

As the door opened, Luo Chen finally saw the world outside.
