200: Chapter 200 Blood God?
Just as Qin Ming was stretching and getting ready to head over to Los Angeles.
Emma's voice suddenly came from behind him.
“Brother, where are you going?” Emma was wearing a set of pink bear pajamas.
Qin Ming looked back with a smile and said casually, “Going to Los Angeles.”
Emma's eyes lit up: “I want to go too!”
Qin Ming raised an eyebrow: “What about Sadako? Didn't I just tell her to play with you?”
“She's in her room training her Psychic Powers.” Emma curled her lip. “It's too boring; I'd rather go out and find some fun.”
Qin Ming nodded: “Oh, then let's go.”
As the words fell, Qin Ming snapped his fingers.
Teleportation activated. The two figures instantly vanished from the apartment living room.
The next second.
Inside an abandoned factory filled with rust and a strong scent of blood, two figures flashed out of thin air.
Selene sensed the spatial fluctuation and immediately turned around. Seeing it was Qin Ming, she knelt on one knee without hesitation, right hand over her chest, in a posture of utmost devotion: “Holy Lord.”
Qin Ming casually pulled over a dust-covered metal crate and sat down: “No need for such grand etiquette, stand up.”
“Yes.” Selene stood up and respectfully stepped to the side.
Qin Ming looked down at the burly Black man slumped in the pile of rubble.
The famous Blade had been beaten so badly that even his own mother wouldn't recognize him now.
Qin Ming lightly tapped his knee with his finger: “Become my employee. America can only have one Vampire hunter, and that will be my lackey.”
Blade stared fixedly at this child who had suddenly appeared. Gritting his blood-stained teeth, he squeezed three words out of his throat: “Im... poss... ible!”
This die-hard rebel was clearly not going to be obedient.
Qin Ming had no intention of playing any 'thrice visiting the thatched cottage' games; he simply clapped his hands.
“Larry, get to work.”
“Make friends... take away... forced... synchronization!”
“What the hell is this!” Blade only had time to let out a roar before his entire being was completely sucked into the electronic space.
Qin Ming patted the dust off his hands, turned to Selene, and directly issued mission instructions.
“There's a new local Vampire leader named Deacon Frost. This guy is a half-breed and has always been treated as an outcast by those high-and-mighty pureblood Vampires.” Qin Ming leaned against the metal crate, leisurely relaying intelligence, “However, he has massive ambitions. He's obsessed with ancient legends and plans to awaken a Blood God called La Magra.”
Selene frowned slightly; she had always looked down on these low-class half-breed Vampires: “Blood God?”
“Yes.” Qin Ming nodded. “He wants to use divine power to trigger a 'Blood Tide,' mutating all humans globally into Vampires so he can be the supreme ruler.”
“Utterly foolish delusion,” Selene commented coldly. As a Vampire who had lived through long ages, she knew well that such mad plans to overturn human dominance would only invite destruction.
“There are two keys to the ritual.” Qin Ming held up two fingers. “He needs the blood of that Blade guy from just now, because he possesses a 'Sacred Bloodline' of being half-human, half-Vampire. Secondly, he needs to forcibly sacrifice twelve Vampire Elders.”
Qin Ming waved his hand: “Go deal with those twelve old geezers. As for Blade's blood, I'll have Larry draw it later and send it directly to you. Once everything is ready...”
Qin Ming stood up, a flash of tyranny in his eyes: “Wait for Frost to summon that La Magra, and catch it when it's at its weakest right after descending.”
Qin Ming made a clean throat-slitting gesture.
This kind of 'harvesting leeks' operation to steal experience was already a familiar routine for Qin Ming.
Selene understood instantly, her lips curling into a bloodthirsty arc: “As you command, Holy Lord.”
Emma, who had been watching from the side the whole time, boredly kicked away a rusty nut: “Is that it? Brother, you just came here to give out a quest.”
Qin Ming glanced at her: “You're the one who wanted to tag along.”
Emma puffed out her cheeks and sighed: “Fine, it's just a bit boring. How about... I go have some fun with Sister Selene?”
She turned to look at Selene. Qin Ming waved his hand dismissively: “Up to you. Just don't let things get out of hand.”
“Yay!” Emma cheered, her figure flashing as she jumped to Selene's side.
The two exchanged a look, and without a single redundant word, they instantly turned into two afterimages and vanished into the factory's dark night.
Having finished the business, Qin Ming was about to teleport back to Tokyo.
The frivolous sound of leather shoes suddenly came from behind, and a faint scent of men's cologne drifted in the air.
“Ha, Qin.”
Qin Ming turned around and saw Lucifer appearing out of thin air in the abandoned factory, but his face was as sour as if he had just eaten a whole lemon.
Qin Ming sized him up and chuckled: “What's up? Let me guess... kicked out by Detective Chloe?”
Lucifer's face immediately turned as ugly as if he were constipated. He irritably adjusted his wrinkle-free cuffs, trying to save face: “Nonsense. I simply believe that her logic tonight has been occupied by some unspeakable stupidity, making her unworthy of enjoying my unparalleled company.”
Qin Ming exposed him without mercy: “Do you want me to teach you how to chase girls?”
Lucifer let out a disdainful scoff: “No, no, no. I am the Ruler of Hell, the incarnation of desire. I have my strategies. However... I am someone who is relatively open to listening to the foolish suggestions of others. You may elaborate.”
Qin Ming spread his hands: “It's simple. If you like a girl, just ask her out directly. Skip all the testing and push-and-pull. I've never had this fail.”
Lucifer rolled his eyes grandly: “In fact, that is my standard technique. I can even make them reveal their deepest, most primal desires without reservation.”
“Then why didn't it work on her?” Qin Ming hit the nail on the head.
Lucifer sighed, showing a rare hint of frustration: “She is different. My abilities are completely ineffective against her. She's practically immune to me. It makes no sense at all.”
Qin Ming stepped forward and clapped his hands: “Come on, make a video call. I'm in a good mood today, I'll personally coach you.”
Lucifer looked at him suspiciously: “Are you sure?”
“Trust me.” Qin Ming showed a mysterious smile.
Lucifer half-skeptically pulled out his phone and dialed Chloe's video call.
A few seconds later, the screen lit up, and Chloe's weary but still capable face appeared on the screen.
“Lucifer, if you don't have anything urgent, I'm currently dealing with—” Chloe hadn't finished her sentence.
Qin Ming leaned his head directly into the frame, flashing a bright smile at the screen: “Hi, Detective Chloe.”
