6: Chapter 6 The Physique of a Millionaire
Today, Yuan Yan was wearing a floral maxi dress, carrying two bulging supermarket shopping bags in her hands, filled with vegetables, tofu, and two lively crucian carp.
Upon seeing Jiang Li, Yuan Yan's footsteps visibly faltered.
Her face flushed almost instinctively.
The images from the bathroom yesterday afternoon flooded into her mind uncontrollably.
Her silk nightgown soaked through by water, the hand Jiang Li used to hold her waist, and the disarray of falling into Jiang Li's arms after arguing with her husband over the phone...
"Sister Yan, out grocery shopping?"
Jiang Li, on the other hand, looked composed and greeted her naturally.
"If you have any business in the future, come to me. My shop is very close to this residential complex; it's just a few steps away."
After saying this, Jiang Li took two steps forward, but as he brushed past Yuan Yan, he suddenly stopped, turned his head slightly, and lowered his voice to add:
"If a water pipe bursts, feel free to call me anytime. We're neighbors, after all."
"Okay, okay." Yuan Yan was left breathless by Jiang Li's words, feeling her chest trembling, and could only respond instinctively.
Could Jiang Li actually be interested in her?
Yesterday was clearly an accident, but if... she meant if, if there was business next time...
By the time she came to her senses, Jiang Li had already walked more than ten meters away.
Yuan Yan finally reacted, leaning against the wall at the entrance of the unit, panting heavily.
Her heart was beating so fast and hard that it felt like it was about to jump out of her throat.
"Yuan Yan, oh Yuan Yan, what on earth are you thinking!"
She scolded herself harshly in her heart:
"You already have a daughter!"
...
By the time Jiang Li arrived at the shop, it was already twelve o'clock at noon.
His luxury rental shop was located in the ground-floor commercial space beneath the residential complex. The storefront wasn't large, but it was stylishly decorated. The glass display window was polished to a shine, and inside, several bags and watches were arranged under warm lighting, giving it the appearance of a boutique.
Jiang Li flipped the "Open" sign, pushed the door open, and walked in. He first turned on the air conditioning, then meticulously wiped down the bag he had collected from Yuan Yan and placed it in the most prominent display spot.
He took a few photos, applied a warm-toned filter, and posted it on Douyin.
"New arrivals in store! Any ladies interested, feel free to come by! DM me for the location~"
He attached an LV emoji and tagged the location of the shop.
After sending the message, Jiang Li tossed his phone onto the table and slumped limply into his boss chair.
His business, frankly speaking, relied on the internet to make a living.
The existence of the physical storefront was mainly to make people feel it was reliable.
After all, for luxury goods that cost tens of thousands, if you didn't even have a physical store, who would dare to give you a deposit?
Therefore, daily online promotion was indispensable.
Douyin, Little Red Book, and Moments; he had to cycle through these three channels every day without fail.
After finishing these tasks, Jiang Li closed his eyes, intending to nap for a while.
He was truly exhausted last night.
However, just as he closed his eyes, a crisp system notification sound suddenly rang in his mind.
"Ding! Detected that the host's health level is extremely low. Current health rating: Sub-optimal."
Jiang Li opened his eyes abruptly.
The system is back again?
"As a tycoon, you must possess a strong physique."
The system's voice echoed in his mind, unhurriedly:
"Now issuing a check-in task — [The Tycoon's Physique]."
"Task content: Go to the designated Gym (Xingyue Gym) every day to exercise for one hour."
"Task reward: For every point the host's health level increases, receive a cash reward of 10,000 yuan."
"First check-in completion, additional reward: One basic physical enhancement."
Jiang Li stared at the task panel in his mind and couldn't help but chuckle.
This is like being handed a pillow just as you're feeling sleepy!
He was just thinking about exercising, and the system arranged a task for him.
And this reward is too generous, right?
One point of health increase gives 10,000 yuan; if he brings his health from sub-optimal to excellent, wouldn't that mean hundreds of thousands in income in no time?
Without another word, Jiang Li sprang up from his chair.
He pulled out a sign that read "Owner is out on business, will return shortly," hung it on the doorknob, locked the door, and took out his phone to navigate.
Xingyue Gym was on the next street over, just a five-minute walk away.
Jiang Li moved quickly and soon found the place.
The Gym was on the second floor of an office building, with a huge LED sign hanging at the entrance, printed with the four large characters "Xingyue Gym."
Jiang Li pushed the door open and walked in; the receptionist was looking down, playing on her phone.
"Hello, I'd like to get a monthly membership card."
The receptionist looked up, glanced at Jiang Li, and gave a professional smile: "Hello, sir. A monthly card is 680, which includes one personal training session. An annual card is 3,000, which includes five personal training sessions. Would you like to consider the annual card?"
"No need, the monthly card is fine." Jiang Li felt that with the system's help, he wouldn't need much time to get a good body, so he scanned the code and paid directly.
However, he still planned to have a personal trainer. For one, it's hard to stay consistent if he trains alone, and secondly, having a personal trainer could help him train faster.
When the receptionist heard Jiang Li only wanted a monthly card, her smile faded slightly, but there was no mockery in it.
She had worked at Xingyue Gym for nearly two years and had seen all kinds of customers.
Although monthly card users spend less, they were still customers. If there was a problem with service attitude, it wouldn't be easy to explain to the store manager.
"Alright, sir. The monthly card is 680, and it includes one trial personal training session." The receptionist skillfully processed the paperwork and handed the card to Jiang Li. "When would be convenient for the complimentary personal training session? I'll arrange a coach for you."
Jiang Li took the card and thought for a moment, "Arrange it for now. I'm free this afternoon anyway."
"Okay, please wait a moment."
The receptionist picked up the desk phone, her mind already calculating.
This type of monthly card user was, frankly, just here to take advantage of the trial session; they would leave after the session and would never spend money to buy more classes.
Wasting a good coach on this kind of person was purely a waste of time.
She flipped through the shift schedule and found an intern coach who had just arrived last month and was still a university student.
Anyway, this coach's performance was already at the bottom, so one more or one less customer didn't matter.
The receptionist dialed the phone, "Coach Zhang Tong, a customer just got a monthly card. Are you free to come over and take them for a session?"
