160: Chapter 160 Stunned Everyone, All They Want is Happy Water

Rows upon rows of people knelt throughout the corridor. The soles of their military boots scraped against the gravel floor, creating a dense rustling sound, and then everything fell silent.

Hundreds of people simultaneously pressed their foreheads against their crossed hands or the cold ground. A low and solemn chant extended from the laboratory entrance all the way to the end of the corridor:

"Greetings to Fourth Prince Daodun!!"

When the mountain-like chant gradually subsided, Prince Dao Dun lifted a weak finger.

That finger was slender and emaciated, its grayish-white skin glowing with a faint matte sheen under the cold light of the monitor.

He pointed at Rockefeller III, who was kneeling at the very front. His voice remained light and hoarse, but his tone carried an innate air of authority that required no teaching—a presence that flowed naturally.

"You... come here."

At that moment, Rockefeller III's heartbeat jumped up by a full beat.

He could remain unflustered while being interrogated for eight full hours at major US Senate hearings.

During negotiations for Middle Eastern oil pipelines, he could calmly rewrite contract terms from start to finish while surrounded by armed insurgents.

In his entire life, he had never lost his composure in any situation, in front of anyone.

But at this moment, it took a tremendous amount of effort to restrain his hands, which could not help but tremble slightly as he lifted them from his knees.

Rockefeller III pressed his hands firmly against his knees, then stood up and walked to Prince Dao Dun's bedside. He bent over, arching his body to a height parallel to the hospital bed, his tone respectful and solemn.

"Your Highness, please give your orders."

"Whatever can be done, I will certainly use one hundred percent of my sincerity to achieve it for you."

"Whatever cannot be done, I will also do my utmost to achieve it for you."

Prince Dao Dun tilted his head slightly. Those black, oval-shaped eyeballs slowly rotated a small circle, and he made a subtle gesture for Rockefeller III to come closer.

Rockefeller III immediately leaned down, bringing his ear close to Prince Dao Dun's lips.

Everyone else in the room—Samuel, Isabelle, Jacob, William, and the few assault team leaders still kneeling at the entrance—all held their breath.

They watched the old man leaning over Prince Dao Dun's lips, his expression undergoing a series of extremely subtle changes in a very short time.

Rockefeller III's expression shifted from respect to focus, from focus to brief confusion, and from confusion to a gravity that was extremely restrained—as if he were trying his best to suppress some incredible emotion that was still involuntarily surfacing.

Prince Dao Dun finished speaking.

Rockefeller III straightened his back, his expression as grave as if he had just heard a final directive concerning the survival of all humanity, and walked out of the ward step by step.

Samuel, Isabelle, Jacob, and William followed him out of the room.

The soundproof alloy door closed slowly behind them, and Prince Dao Dun lay back quietly on the pillow and closed his eyes again.

Samuel was the first to lose patience. He reached out and grabbed Rockefeller's sleeve, his voice low and urgent:

"Rockefeller, what exactly did Prince Dao Dun say to you?"

"Is it about the latest deployment of the million-strong fleet of the Zeta Star?"

"Or is it something else that the Longevity Faction has hidden under the Hoover Dam?"

"Your expression... your expression changed several times just now. I've never seen your expression change that quickly before."

Isabelle also walked quickly to Rockefeller's side, her hands tightly clasped in front of her, her tone more urgent than at any other time:

"Prince Dao Dun spoke to you alone—is it about whether Grand Commander Nailong has given approval for the agency qualifications of The Five Great Families?"

"Whatever the result is, just say it."

Jacob Rothschild stood to the side, his lips tightly shut, but his gaze had already scanned Rockefeller from head to toe more than once.

William Vanderbilt V shoved his ever-present whiskey flask into his pocket and took a half-step to block Rockefeller, his low voice pressing with intense urgency:

"Rockefeller, speak. Whether it's good or bad, we'll face it together."

Rockefeller III looked at the four faces in front of him, tense to the breaking point. He was silent for a few seconds, then took a deep breath. Keeping his tone with the same extreme gravity as before, he said word by word:

"Prince Dao Dun just told me... he wants to drink cola."

"He wants me to buy him some cola to drink."

In the corridor, everyone's breathing stopped simultaneously.

Samuel was preparing to press for more, his lips just shaping the intent, but the words "drink cola" stuck in his throat, choking off any possible follow-up questions.

He stared blankly for about two or three seconds before squeezing out a distorted syllable from the depths of his throat:

"Cola?"

Isabelle stood as if frozen in place, her hands still clasped in front of her chest, her expression jumping directly from urgency to intense confusion.

Jacob Rothschild slowly pulled his hands, which had been tucked into his coat pockets, out. He looked at Rockefeller as if using his face—always as calm as a sculpture—to re-confirm the mental state of everyone around him.

William took his flask out of his jacket side pocket, unscrewed it, and put it back, repeating the same action twice without saying a word.

Rockefeller III looked at their bewildered faces and continued in that completely inappropriate, grave tone:

"Prince Dao Dun also said... he wants to eat spicy chicken noodles."

"He wants me to buy a few bags for him."

Samuel took a deep breath, his body leaning back slightly from the inertia of the sudden stop.

He pressed a finger to his lips as if running through the matter in his mind, yet he still couldn't believe it.

Isabelle's hands, originally clasped in front of her chest, now relaxed, and she loosened and tightened the buckle of her bulletproof cloak again and again.

Jacob took his hands out of his coat pockets and slowly pressed his index fingers against his temples, as if trying to re-arrange information that could not be matched to any existing information framework.

William's lips opened for a moment, then closed, then opened again, and finally, he let out a hoarse voice that hovered between a respectful term and extreme confusion:

"Cola and spicy chicken noodles?"

"Is this really the Fourth Prince from Zeta Star? We didn't save the wrong person, did we?"

The corridor fell silent.

Then Samuel cleared his throat, took a step forward, and looked at Rockefeller III and the closed alloy door behind him. Using the restrained tone he typically reserved for asking the most passive-aggressive questions in board meetings, he spoke—as if he dared not be too disrespectful, yet simply couldn't hold back:

"Prince Dao Dun said anything else? He wouldn't ask us to buy him... buy toys, would he?"

Isabelle also cast her gaze back to Rockefeller III, and Jacob and William looked over with the same questioning expression.

At this moment, they seemed to have just found an explanation: Prince Dao Dun might just be a child.

Only a child would make cola and spicy chicken noodles their first request upon waking up, and only a child would develop a serious possessiveness over low-end snacks like cola and spicy chicken noodles.
