Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Encountering Creatures that Hangs HumansMy body froze, unable to move, as if I was entranced by fear.

"Run, idiot," came the voice again, jolting me out of my stupor. I turned around, taking to my heels again. Right now, I was a complete mess, my mind unable to comprehend what was happening.

I only wanted to escape. How did it get this bad?

Another one jumped in front of me, stopping me in my tracks. I wanted to turn to my left, but more seemed to appear from nowhere... I was literally surrounded by a bunch of creatures who hang humans on top of trees.

"A virgin," came from one of the creatures, her voice sounded unnatural, like someone was strangling her.

"A virgin? Me? I ain’t no virgin, I can’t even count how many times I’ve been banged." I had no idea how I was able to talk, or where I got the audacity from.

I flinched when one of them suddenly hissed in displeasure, as if it was a taboo for me to talk back.

"This is rare, my sisters... her blood is preeecious," the other creature drawled.

"The last ingredient for our potion," another said with a smile, showcasing its dirty black teeth.



I wanted to scream so badly at them that they had got the wrong person, that I was no virgin. But then it occurred to me that this body might be.

My eyes widened as fear crept up my spine. Being surrounded by these dirty and dangerous creatures, I knew there was no way I could escape. I have never wanted to faint this much in my entire life, but it was at that moment that my mind seemed to be very conscious and clear.

"Get her," one of them ordered.

They laughed as they all flew towards me. My body froze, my soul flew out of my body before coming back. My eyes shut tightly. "DAMON!!!" I screamed.

I didn’t know why I had called his name, but that was the only thing I could think of at that moment. As I awaited my impending doom, the sound of a wolf howling brought a strange comfort to my heart.

Then, I heard something whooshing past me before pushing me to the ground. A yelp escaped my lips when I felt the cold welcome of the hard forest floor.

Then, screams echoed in the background, followed by growls and the tearing of flesh.

My eyes snapped open as I raised my head from the ground. A gasp escaped my lips when I saw a massive white wolf standing in front of me, fighting off the creatures. As if it had felt my gaze, it turned its head around. My eyes met with those dark silver eyes. Time seemed to freeze. It was like its gaze was trying to pull me into a bottomless abyss. It turned around again, breaking our eye contact.

Its snout flared, ripping off the head of one of the creatures, its white fur stained by the creature’s black blood.

The creature that had given the order to the others to attack stood facing the wolf. "We have no issue with you, we only want the girl. We found her first," the creature said, her voice dripping with pretense and a hint of fear.

But her words seemed to annoy the wolf more. The wolf growled, snarling before pouncing on her. The creature quickly chanted something on her lips. By the time the wolf got to where she was, she had already disappeared, leaving nothing but green smoke in the air.


The wolf turned around, growling fiercely at me. My ocean blue eyes were locked with it, and I could not look away as it walked slowly towards me, each step majestic, its muzzle still showing its sharp teeth.

My throat unconsciously throbbed. I had managed to survive those creatures, now I was going to become food for the wolf. Tears trickled down my eyes... but why could I see the annoyance and displeasure in his gaze?

Am I seeing things now, or were wolves able to convey this high level of emotion? And the wolf was too massive for a normal wolf. What kind of breed was it?

It seemed very angry. I closed my eyes, waiting for him to deliver the last blow, but no matter how long I waited, it never came.

I peeked one eye open, and I saw it lowering its body. Its eyes shooting daggers at me. ’Does it want me to get on his back?’ I thought inwardly, completely taken aback. I never knew I was this special, to the extent that a wolf would fight for me and offer its back to carry me.

But a part of me doubted if this was what it actually meant. I didn’t want to risk my life offending it.



"Get on, and don’t test my patience," came its terrifying and cold voice.

Blood drained from my face. There was only one person that talked that way. "D... Damon?" I whispered in horror.

"Don’t make me repeat myself," he ordered.

I rose from the ground. I didn’t realize how much my body had been trembling in terror all this while. I hesitantly climbed onto his back, my heart skittering in my chest as I felt his warm fur on my skin. That instant, I knew that I was done for after we arrived at God knows where.

Without warning, he took off. I crouched down, holding onto him for dear life. The surroundings were moving so fast that I couldn’t even see a thing. The wind whipped harshly against my face.

I couldn’t open my eyes because of the force from the wind. It was like I was on a bullet train. I didn’t know how long he was running, but it was already night.

Finally, we arrived in front of a city. He crossed the bridge connecting to the entrance. It was like the soldiers knew that he was coming, and they quickly opened the gate for him. We zoomed past them, running through the streets, which I couldn’t make a thing of, before making our way into an old castle.

We stopped in front of the building. He crouched down. I quickly climbed down from his back, racing to the nearest bush, throwing up every single thing in my stomach... well, it was mostly liquid.

The fast motion made my stomach churn.

When I turned around, I saw Damon in his human form glaring at me. Fear traveled down my spine. But my treacherous eyes flicked down his naked body, stopping between his legs.
