Chapter 358 Almost

The soft wind ruffled the grasses slightly, the sound of our skin slapping against each other and our moans filled the air.

His kiss lingered on my neck, sucking and licking my skin, exactly where the half mark was, I trembled as a hot sensation shot through my veins.

"Damon," my palm softly pressed against his chest.

Getting the meaning behind my gesture, he pulled back, his dark eyes were like a pool of dark ink ready to engulf me any second. He pressed his thumb against my lips gently before caressing it.

"You don’t want me to?" His deep husky voice carried a hint of hurt.

I blinked, unable to meet his gaze, I wanted to but if we became fully mated, would he survive after I was gone?

"You have only proposed, of course, we have to get married before you mark me." I giggled nervously. "Don’t tell me you’re already so impatient."

Damon sighed, his arms tightened around my waist. "Why do I feel you don’t want me to?" He muttered under his breath.

"Because I don’t want you to have me easily." I splashed water on his face.

His lips curved into a smirk. "You really want to do that now?"

I giggled. "Can’t we do both simultaneously?" I winked at him.

"We can."

A yelp tore from my throat as he suddenly carried me up, my legs wrapping around his waist, without giving much time to process what was happening, I felt his length inside me.

A cry tore from my throat, and my hand clutched a handful of his hair as he thrust mercilessly inside me.

"At this rate, I’ll go bald, my love," Damon grunted.

I wanted to glare at him so bad, but he was creating havoc inside me. Our sound of love was the only chaos in the serene world.

After what seems like forever, our bodies slumped over the soft grasses, our chests heaving heavily as if we had run a marathon.

My silvery white hair clung to my face, and I snuggled further into his warmth.

His strong arms wrapped around my waist. "It’s such a beautiful day." He said calmly, his hot breath fanning against the crook of my neck.

"I wish we could stay here forever, it’s so beautiful and peaceful." My tone came out a little sad carrying a little tinge of longing.

"I promise, after the war, it’ll be just you and me, and we are going to relive this moment as many times as you want. Even if you ask for the world, I’ll give it to you." Damon said, before planting a soft kiss on my cheek.

I chuckled, even when my heart felt so heavy and aching. "When did you become so poetic?"

"Ever since I met you." His words brought a smile to my face.

We remained like that for a long time, each of us lost in our own world.

"Don’t you ever think of leaving me." Damon broke the silence with a tone that sounded like a plea and at the same time like a threat.

My heart froze for a moment before beating again, I elbowed his stomach. "Why would you think like that... I would never leave you." I said even my voice wasn’t sounding convincing to me.

’At least not willingly.’

Damon remained quiet for a while before replying. "Good."

Just then I felt something hot poking my behind, my eyes widened as realization dawned on me. ’This shameless man, how could he get hard again?’

"Damon, what are you doing?" I asked with a tired sigh.

"Making sure you are well satisfied." He said with a hum.

"But I don’t... ahh."

"You can sleep my love, while I make your dream sweeter." He said shamelessly as he began to slide gently inside me.

"But I didn’t want this," I said, resigning to my fate.

"You do." Damon pressed a kiss on my temple before thrusting inside me. "Now sleep, my love."

’As if I could sleep when you are banging me from behind.’ I rolled my eyes inwardly.

(Third POV)

Alaric remained sitting against the corner of the wall even when the witches had left. His body ached almost everywhere, he didn’t know what had happened, that he had almost gone rogue as his wolf was dominating his body for a long time.

His eyes fixated on the woman lying on the bed, unknowingly his heartbeat rose and fell at the same time as hers.

He slowly pushed himself up, walking towards her as if he walked too fast; she might disappear or even stop breathing.

His brows knitted together as his eyes fell on her pale neck, he could feel her pulse running through her veins, he could hear how her blood coursed through them, every heartbeat was like a drum of illusions.

His eyes turned gold, and his fangs slowly elongated out, only one thought echoed in his head. ’Mate, mate, mate.’

He walked closer to her as if he was in a trance, he lowered his head, closing his eyes as he inhaled the sweet smell of her scent, wild roses, fresh and intoxicating.

He growled faintly as he inched closer, his fangs pressed gently against her skin, and it felt like all he could see was red.

His fangs throbbed painfully, and the solution was to bury them in her neck. His hands clutched the edge of the bed.

His eyes fluttered closed, his warm tongue licked her skin in circles, as if preparing it for the incoming piercing.

His fangs grazed her skin, and just as he was about to sink them in, he suddenly pulled back, stumbling a few steps away from her. His eyes widened in horror at what he was about to do.

Unable to believe what he had almost done he turned around to leave.

"Alaric." A soft cracked voice called from behind, the same voice he had been longing to hear all this while.

He felt his soul jump out of his body in joy and fear.
