Chapter 337 Let’s Start Again

My eyes widened in surprise, and heat surged through my chest. I pushed weakly at his shoulders, only for his grip to tighten around my waist, pulling me harder against his well-chiseled chest. His kiss was rough, almost punishing, his breath hot and uneven. He kissed me in frustration, venting his anger on me, but it tasted sweet, sweeter than honey, the kind that made my toes curl inside my shoes.He broke away an inch from me, our breaths a heavy mess. His eyes darkened with desire, his kiss was like a temptation, a water in a desert, showing me how much I’ve been starving. "Do you love me?" he whispered.

I blinked at him, my voice lost in my throat. "I..." My brain was experiencing a short current circuit.

Before I could respond, his mouth found mine again, this time, it was gentler, slow, and unhurried, like he had all the time in the world to kiss me. The sensation turned my legs to jelly. My fingers lifted on their own and clutched the front of his shirt, wrinkling the fabric. He hummed against my mouth, the vibration shot down my spine and I shivered.

He tilted his head and deepened the kiss ferociously. I moaned against his lips, my eyes closing as my lips responded to his. I rose on my toes and pressed myself closer to him, my soft chest pressed firmly against his chest, leaving little to no space between us.

My hands slid up to his nape. His skin was warm under my fingers, his pulse thudding as fast as mine.

He let out a low sound that felt sinful in my ear, then he bit my lips, eliciting a cry from my lips, my breath hitching. He caught my lip between his teeth and tugged softly, then soothed the spot with his tongue.

"Damon..." I tried to speak, pulling back for a breath of air, my head spinning.

He cut me off mid-sentence as he claimed my lips again, he kissed me so passionately, leaving no room for objection. We staggered across the room, and the back of my knees hit the bed.

His hands cupped my face, then slid along my jaw to the curve of my neck, his thumbs brushing my skin, leaving traces of heat in its wake. He deepened the kiss again, alternating between sucking and biting my lips skillfully, like he wanted me to memorize every movement of his.

The way he kissed me made me forget every reason I had to be careful. The only thing I remembered was the taste of his lips and how soft they were against mine.

When he finally pulled away, I yanked him back before I could think, claiming his lips again. He smiled against my mouth, a breath of amusement, and I wanted to wipe it away and at the same time keep it forever in the same heartbeat.

He said between the kisses. "Still do not love me?"

My mind blanked like a white paper, I parted my lips to speak but no words came out, seeing my reluctance, it earned me another kiss. His hand snaked further down my waist, squeezing the surplus flesh of my body, I gasped, but then he suddenly seized the opportunity to slide his tongue into my mouth.

Every swirling of his tongue was dominating, his pace a little slower compared to before, like he was trying to confess all his feelings through that kiss. Yet, at the same time, it was gentle, demanding, and greedy.

"Damon." I tried to sound stern, but it came out like a plea.

He pulled back a fraction to look at me. His gaze darkened with desire, and the storm in him turned to something warm that made my heart stutter in my chest. He brushed a stray strand of hair behind my ear and pressed a kiss to my forehead. It was the gentlest touch he had given me and it broke something open inside me.

"Stop doing that," I muttered, blinking away the sudden sting in my eyes.

"Doing what?" His thumb swept my cheekbone, catching a tear I had not realized had fallen.

"You’re making it hard to breathe." I wasn’t lying entirely, I was breathless.

A small smile curved on his lips, reflecting in his eyes. He leaned over and kissed me again, bending my neck in a position that gave him better access, this time the kiss was more of a silent promise, but before I could deduce what it was, he ruined the promise with a bite that made me gasp from the sting.

Annoyed, I retaliated, nipping his lip. He chuckled, the sound low and dark, then caught my mouth like he could not bear the distance a second longer.

He kissed me like he owned me and like I could leave at any second. I kissed him back like I wanted to stay and like I was afraid to admit it. Our teeth clashed and he growled against my lips, then slowed down and coaxed me back into a rhythm that blew my mind away.

He moved between my knees, and I felt every inch of him. Heat pooled low in my stomach. My toes curled and uncurled on the bed, ’useless little traitors.’

Then he pulled away, his brooding gaze narrowing at me, his thumb brushing over my swollen lips. "You haven’t answered my question yet." This time he sounded like he was pleading.

I met his gaze, my eyes wandering about in their depth. I wondered what it would mean for both of us, if I said yes. I didn’t want to be selfish, because proclaiming my love for him would end in nothing but pain and wallow.

"Answer me." He growled lightly, before planting kisses all over my neck, his touch was so warm, sending shivers down my spine.

I cupped his face, then I leaned closer and pressed a long kiss on his lips, his lips felt so good against mine. "Let’s start again. Let’s put the past behind us, let’s forget our identity and just love ourselves. I want to love you for who you are." I planted another short kiss on his lips.
