132: Chapter 133 Category C Invitation Letter

Paris Airport. The plane landed safely.

An Xin went to the baggage claim area to collect his luggage, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being followed.

This feeling made An Xin very uneasy.

“Sir, here is your luggage.”

The Waiter handed the suitcase to An Xin, who took it and quickly left the airport.

After leaving the airport, the feeling of being followed persisted.

An Xin deliberately walked into an alley crowded with shops, found a telephone booth to use as cover, and hid behind it.

He waited there for two minutes.

The person following him actually appeared.

It was a woman wearing a black trench coat, a felt hat, a black mask, and sunglasses. Her gait was somewhat similar to Yun Yan's.

An Xin covered the mysterious woman's mouth from behind and dragged her to an empty alley entrance behind the telephone booth.

An Xin's cold gaze startled her.

“An Xin, it’s me, Yun Yan.”

The woman forcefully pulled away An Xin's hand, her voice trembling slightly.

It was the first time she had seen An Xin like this.

“Why are you acting so sneakily?”

Seeing it was an acquaintance, An Xin lowered his guard slightly and cast a scrutinizing look at Yun Yan.

“I wanted to see your fashion show... I was afraid that if I got too close to you, my identity as a Designer would be exposed. I don't want to be in the spotlight.”

Yun Yan was very talented at designing clothes. Every one of her works had received high praise from fashion masters.

For the six years she had been publishing her work, Yun Yan had always kept a low profile, only displaying her creations. She remained active in the fashion world under her author name and never exposed her private life.

Nor did she make public appearances.

“Do you have some hidden difficulty?”

Yun Yan nodded.

Everyone had secrets. An Xin chose to respect her and did not press Yun Yan for the specific reason.

“Hiding behind me, you can at most follow me to the entrance of the exhibition. You won't be able to get in without an invitation. If you want to see the show, I can give you an identity.”

“What identity?”

“A model agent. I am a model in this exhibition, so it’s perfectly reasonable to bring an agent along. You can also use the convenience of the job to watch the show from behind the scenes.”

“Okay, I’ll be this temporary agent. So, Mr. An, where are we going now?”

An Xin did not want to enter the fashion show venue with his current face.

“I bought a human skin mask from Li Mei. I need to wear it; could you help me with a simple disguise?”

“Okay.”

The two found a coffee shop, and An Xin booked a private room.

Yun Yan helped An Xin put on the human skin mask and applied makeup to make it look more like a real face.

With the mask on, An Xin appeared more mature and weathered, his deep eyes full of stories.

He had lost his ethereal aura and gained a more grounded, human quality.

“If you weren't wearing a mask, your original looks would definitely stun everyone at the exhibition.”

“I have my own reasons for not wanting to expose my identity. There's no need to stun anyone.”

“I know, I was just fantasizing.”

After finishing An Xin's makeup, she took out some cosmetic wax to alter his facial features.

Yun Yan's slender chin was reshaped into a round one, and her face took on a fuller, fleshy look.

The cold beauty instantly transformed into an elegant, wealthy-looking oriental woman. Her temperament became sweet and cute, and a 'fortune mole' was painted at the corner of her mouth.

“Can you still tell how much I look like my old self?”

“Your disguise technique is amazing. You can change your face even without a mask. I can't see a trace of your former self.”

Receiving An Xin's praise, Yun Yan curled her lips and smiled naively.

“Don't be silly. Let's go; we still need to report to the St. Elton Hotel.”

Yun Yan neatly packed up her toolbox, hurriedly grabbed the suitcase, and ran out of the coffee shop.

Half an hour later, the two took a taxi to the St. Elton Hotel.

The St. Elton Hotel was a century-old establishment in Paris, the only six-star quality hotel in the city.

The thirty-three-story hotel building stood imposingly on Tower Street.

From the top floor, one could overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire city of Paris.

The taxi door opened, and Yun Yan dutifully performed her role as an assistant.

Carrying the necessary documents, she led An Xin to the front desk to check in.

The front desk was crowded with people of all skin colors.

Yun Yan took the exhibition invitation to the front desk to check in.

The Organizer had arrogantly covered everyone's accommodation.

Exhibitors did not need to book their own rooms.

The St. Elton Hotel was undoubtedly the best hotel in Paris. The cheapest single room cost 60,000 yuan, which was the equivalent of an ordinary person's annual savings.

That 60,000 was enough to buy two apartments in Hegang.

Before checking in, Yun Yan had a high opinion of the Paris exhibition Organizer, but this good impression was completely shattered the moment they arrived.

The hotel receptionist glanced at the invitation Yun Yan produced.

“The reception desk for Class C exhibitions is over there.”

The receptionist's gaze was dismissive, and her face was full of impatience.

She didn't give Yun Yan a smile at all and displayed no sense of service.

“What do you mean? Is this your attitude as a Waiter?”

The receptionist's attitude was very annoying.

“If you could get a high-level Class A invitation, I could smile and serve you too. This is Paris, the city of romance, but our romance is never free. People without money or ability don’t deserve to enjoy the romance of Paris.”

The Waiter was completely unfazed by Yun Yan’s threat of a complaint.

Her expression carried a touch of superiority unique to the locals.

Her fingers, painted with red nail polish, pointed toward the bustling hotel lobby.

The lobby was filled with upper-class people in gorgeous attire. Wealthy and noble families were followed by three or four Bodyguards, while young ladies and noblewomen were accompanied by servants, all moving with elegance and high-status grace.

The air was filled with the scent of expensive perfume.

“If you want to complain, please go over there; the complaint box is there.”

Below the complaint box was a trash can. Yun Yan glanced at it and saw shredded notes inside.

Yun Yan took back the invitation angrily.

An Xin walked over and asked about the situation.

“Is the room ready?”

“The Organizer treats people differently. The hotel lobby is just their registration area; it's not where we’re staying at all.”

“Are these Chinese people? You should be kneeling and worshipping the Organizer for even getting an invitation to Paris. You’re dreaming if you think you’ll stay in such a high-class hotel.”

A blond man’s frivolous gaze swept over Yun Yan, his eyes filled with disdain for China.

In the eyes of many foreigners, China was synonymous with backwardness and being unsophisticated.

Yun Yan was so angry at the man's words that her face flushed.

An Xin's expression remained calm, his eyes deep and unreadable.

Getting angry and trying to reason with these people was useless.

One's work was the only real power.

The blond man’s disdainful gaze swept over An Xin.

He took a golden invitation from his pocket.

It was a Class A invitation. His smug expression made Yun Yan clench her fists.

“Little girl, there's no future in being an agent for such an ugly monster. I’m short of a private nanny here. If you’re willing, I can pay you a salary of 30,000 US dollars.”
