35: Chapter 36 A Word is a Promise

The other instructors stood on the sidelines watching the spectacle.

"Monitor, do you think An Xin can still handle them this time?"

Most of the students had previously treated this as a joke and hadn't taken the fight too seriously.

But now, with the huge temptation that anyone who subdued An Xin could return to the dormitory to sleep, everyone naturally became serious about having so many people gang up on him.

"I think An Xin will win."

The Monitor said slowly, placing infinite trust in An Xin.

"Under a human wave tactic, even if he has practiced some skills, I'm afraid he won't be a match for so many people."

The instructor disagreed slightly.

"What he has practiced is far more than 'some skills.' While human wave tactics are useful, An Xin knows how to borrow force to strike back, cunningly making these students fight each other! It's unlikely they'll get out of military training."

The Monitor smiled faintly, focusing his attention and analyzing every move An Xin made.

The instructor clicked his tongue: "I never thought even the Monitor would misjudge a situation."

The entire class, including a few girls, charged at An Xin at that moment.

After taking a deep breath, An Xin completely surrendered his body to his subconscious techniques.

Although many students were charging aggressively, they had no strategy and couldn't even manage to act in unison; often, one person would only think to attack after another had already been floored.

An Xin directly dismantled all their deterrent power from the inside.

While dodging, Li Tao's fist swung directly into Ye An's face.

Ye An fell to the ground, seeing stars, and cursed angrily: "Li Tao, can you look before you hit!"

Li Tao waved his hand awkwardly.

Such moves were old-fashioned but effective.

Very few attacks landed on An Xin; most were just students fighting among themselves.

For a time, apart from the calls to attack, the playground was filled with apologies to fellow students.

In just half an hour, An Xin had dealt with all the students.

He leaned against a tree, panting heavily.

Although he had won this bout, it was by no means easy.

After all, the human wave tactic is often the most effective and powerful method of attack!

Countless ants can still shake an elephant, let alone forty-plus students dealing with just him.

Fortunately, these students had already exhausted their stamina during military training; otherwise, it would be hard to say who would have been the final victor in this battle.

After An Xin knocked everyone down, the instructor was completely shocked.

An Xin's skills made him a prime candidate for the army. No wonder the Monitor had ignored regulations earlier to come over and invite An Xin. If he had known An Xin possessed such abilities, he probably would have ignored all conditions just to recruit An Xin himself.

Amidst his shock, the instructor did not forget to maintain order. He coughed and said slowly: "It seems you all are not up to the task; none of you are a match for An Xin alone. Now, I announce..."

Before the instructor's words could finish, he saw An Xin suddenly raise his hand.

"Wait a moment, Instructor, I haven't finished dealing with all the students yet!"

The instructor was stunned. Few students were still standing, and An Xin's victory was indisputable; no one dared to argue. What did An Xin mean by this?

An Xin strode over to one of the girls who had barely managed to stand up and said: "Punch me!"

The female student was confused but followed An Xin's instructions.

With that one punch, An Xin clutched his chest and fell down: "No, I'm just too weak. I was actually defeated by a girl. It seems the instructor needs to fulfill our promise and exempt everyone from military training."

The instructor stood frozen. All the attacks from so many students earlier hadn't knocked An Xin down. Who would believe that this painless punch had defeated him?

But he couldn't say anything to An Xin; this move was an open, undeniable scheme!

It not only saved face for himself but also won him the goodwill of those students.

They were only able to get out of military training because of An Xin.

An Xin must have planned all the countermeasures from the very beginning. Such methods and foresight were truly rare.

Seeing that the instructor remained silent for a long time, An Xin spoke again: "Instructor, you wouldn't want to break your promise, would you?"

As soon as these words were spoken, the students on the side looked at the instructor in unison, their eyes extremely unfriendly.

They had been beaten up by An Xin and were currently filled with rage with nowhere to vent.

If the instructor dared to renege, they were ready to make a scene!

Military training was to last for a full month, and if they could be exempted, not only could they boast in front of others, but most importantly, they wouldn't have to run around the playground in exhaustion.

The instructor coughed and said weakly: "Military training is for physical fitness, and it's for your own good!"

After saying this, the instructor even felt a bit embarrassed.

After all, even when he was in college, he had tried every possible way to skip military training.

"We don't care, we have fulfilled all our promises, and now it's the instructor's turn to fulfill the promise made to us."

The students reasoned unreasonably, all looking like they wouldn't let him off the hook.

The instructor regretted it deeply now; after all, he didn't have full control over the military training. He had been so impulsive to give out the promise; he had truly lost his head.

If he let an entire class go, the first person to trouble him would be the Monitor.

Just as the instructor was caught in a dilemma, the Monitor walked over silently and issued a direct order.

"Since you won, you don't have to participate in the upcoming military training, but you cannot come over here to show off like An Xin did. If you run over to this side of the playground, I will assume you want to continue with the training."

As the saying goes, a man's word is his bond; they wouldn't destroy their sacred image in the hearts of many students over this matter.

However, An Xin's behavior of actively coming over to provoke hatred was too eye-catching; it wouldn't be right to let the other students just watch longingly.

"And as for your additional training, double it."

The Monitor's tone held a bit of disappointment; the instructor was incompetent at his job but number one at causing trouble for him.

It was one thing to excuse one student from military training before, but now that all students didn't need to participate, the instructor actually had the guts to promise that too.

"Monitor, Monitor, this isn't my problem. Ah, who knew that kid An Xin was so wicked, actually setting me up behind my back."

The instructor said, looking extremely innocent.

He even had the feeling that he had been thoroughly played by An Xin.
