191: Section 191
No matter which angle you look from, for a fleeting moment, you will feel as if the hollow glass eyes on the rag doll's face are meeting your gaze...
—The Annabelle doll!
"That's the one!"
Ed Warren pointed at the display case, his tone serious as he spoke:
"It came looking for us. Of course, we once naively thought we could solve everything with our own strength... so we brought it back..."
"But..."
"I underestimated its horror. Now... its malice is harming my wife!"
While Ed Warren was recounting the story, Lorraine did not follow. Standing at the top of the stairs, she instinctively resisted meeting the Annabelle doll.
However...
With Su Ming's entry...
She could clearly perceive that all the clamor in the basement had vanished!
Those evil spirits residing in their vessels had withdrawn all their malice in an unprecedented display of silence.
The feeling was much like a flock of shivering lambs!
They huddled helplessly in their respective corners, praying devoutly that this great existence before them—whether god or demon—would not discover them.
Su Ming took a light stroll around the display case.
Stroking his chin, he said:
"A very interesting little thing. I smell the scent of sulfur from Hell..."
"A type of malevolence rooted in the spiritual level..."
"A wisp of a curse nurtured through rituals, lies, and blood..."
Gulp!
Ed swallowed hard.
It can't be that terrifying, can it?
Glancing at the forcedly calm Ed, Su Ming gave a wicked smile and added some technical explanation:
"Mr. Warren, it's normal that you and your wife cannot perceive its essence. It is a curse, not a vengeful spirit or some other ghost or monster!"
"It is like an invisible, intangible poisonous thorn, based on its informational essence which is akin to a meme..."
"It is always ready to strike a fatal blow from an observer's visual blind spot. It will pollute your thoughts and twist your perception..."
Tapping the display case, Su Ming teased with a smile:
"To be blunt, Mr. Warren, this display case blessed with holy scripture cannot hold it... or rather, the reason it's still willing to stay inside is only because the time hasn't come..."
Just at that moment...
The Annabelle doll's head silently turned to a different angle.
Ed Warren's face went pale.
He hadn't seen how that ghostly thing had turned its neck.
But he realized very clearly...
At this moment, the doll, facing Su Ming and meeting his gaze, had set its sights on the young Asian man!
A playful smirk curled on his lips as Su Ming raised his hand and lightly tapped on the display case:
"Hello there, Annabelle..."
Click!—
There was no flow of energy, no assistance from telekinesis.
It was as if Annabelle wanted to open it, and so the latch of the glass display case spun open on its own to an angle that made Ed Warren's breathing freeze.
Creak!—
The door of the glass display case opened quietly.
As if welcoming the descent of this world's evil, the entire basement instantly became 'vivid.'
The music box started on its own, a hoarse and eerie ballad singing out along with static and noise.
Sparks flew from the sets of knives, and the sound of sharpening screeched, sounding very much like the noise of bones rubbing against each other.
Inside the old samurai armor, the sound of metal friction filled the air wave after wave, as if an invisible thing was emerging out of thin air and an ancient war soul was about to wake up!
The blood-stained wedding dress billowed up, and within it, a translucent Ghost Bride looked at the two living people with full malice.
"Oh no!"
Ed Warren held his head in despair.
He didn't expect...
That the old friends he collected would be reshaped into Annabelle's image in just a few short days...
However...
"Noisy!"
With a wave of his hand...
Starlight Fall crashed down!
Those were beams of starlight that ignored material barriers!
It looked very much like a surging volley from a space-based orbital laser array descending from the sky.
With just this one wave, the basement returned to peace once more.
The noisy evil spirits and minions were swept clean, malice was reduced to zero, and the room full of paranormal items lost all their supernatural properties from then on!
The first probe from the Annabelle doll was powerfully crushed by Su Ming's opening move of Starlight Fall!
So much so that the Annabelle doll, which was just about to stand up, froze awkwardly in place, and then even pretended as if nothing had happened.
It sat back down submissively on the small bed, tilted its head, and resumed its previous lady-like sitting posture.
Creak!—
The glass door on the display case closed quietly.
Click!—
The latch closed simultaneously.
Amidst Ed Warren's dumbfounded expression, Annabelle even obediently withdrew all of its supernatural aura.
Yes.
It was trying hard to turn itself back into a harmless rag doll!
"Mr. Omar, you..."
Su Ming chuckled:
"Don't mind it, Mr. Warren. When out and about, it's quite reasonable to call for an orbital strike, isn't it?"
Ed Warren: "..."
Your fist is bigger, you have the final say!
Good grief!
What on earth did I bring back?
No holy water exorcism, no incantation rituals.
After a wave of starlight washed over the place, even the Annabelle doll became depressed—can you believe it!
At the basement entrance, Lorraine, holding a cross, was wide-eyed and speechless.
In her eyes, that wasn't an exorcism, nor did it have a dime's worth of a relationship with purification.
That was a more primitive, more violent energy level suppression, a high-level annihilation from above. Lorraine immediately understood that her husband hadn't brought back some master exorcist!
That was a great existence sitting high above the stars!
Annabelle!
That demonic beacon that made countless people fear it...
Seemed to have provoked a grand Star God for its master, one who shouldn't have appeared in this era!
Zzzzt!—
A light screen suddenly unfolded.
Ignoring the bewildered expressions of the Warren couple, Pseudo-Hexi asked with great interest:
"King, is the Annabelle doll an informational life form?"
Su Ming shrugged:
"Unfortunately, it's not... It's just an informational curse, a beacon, a mobile source of malice, but it is specifically not a life form."
Chapter 216: The gate of curses! Killing our way to the enemy's home
The curiosity in Pseudo-Hexi's eyes faded visibly. She had finally encountered an interesting toy, only for it to be such an abstract thing.
It wasn't that this thing wasn't worth studying.
But rather...
With the current capabilities of the Angels...
They simply couldn't understand the underlying idealistic principles of the Annabelle doll.
It was a case of being 'tasteless to eat, but a pity to throw away.'
Sighing, Pseudo-Hexi asked: "King, how do you plan to handle this little thing?"
Stroking his chin, Su Ming's perception field expanded to its limit.
After a moment, Su Ming said with some regret: "Within the Earth-Moon system, I can't find the shadow of the one behind the Annabelle doll. What a pity—such good material for Star Casting."
After a pause, Su Ming suddenly reached out and squeezed!
With a crack...
The Annabelle doll exploded on the spot, and the tattered fabric instantly evaporated.
Leaving only a wisp of black malicious thread, squirming and twisting like a tapeworm inside the quasi-Klein bottle space Su Ming had constructed!
"Fooled you, silly child... Hell, of course, is in the Hell Dimension on the back of reality. Jie jie jie!—I've caught you!"
Su Ming's evil cackle scared the Warren couple into huddling together, shivering.
Through the light screen, Pseudo-Hexi curiously waited for what came next.
Su Ming didn't keep her waiting long.
With a wave of his hand, the heavenly dimension giant hammer appeared out of thin air.
Just before the quasi-Klein bottle space structure was about to collapse, Su Ming slammed the hammer down.
Bong!—
Rules trembled! Order was reconstructed!
Clang!—
Another hammer blow struck down fiercely.
Integrating the abnormal space structure that was about to be ironed flat by the rules of reality, this hammer strike actually built a phantom of the gate of curses out of thin air!
On the door...
The scene of the River Styx crossing and souls wailing shrilly was vividly depicted!
The pillars on both sides of the door...
Were more like piles of skulls, and upon them, hellfire burned fiercely!
Bong!—
