27: Chapter 27 Becoming a Father Unexpectedly? And Not Just Once, But Passing the Imperial Examination in Three Rounds?
Su Yun didn't pay attention to the bullet chat; instead, he continued to stare at Old Sun.
"Getting your life back is a good thing."
"But Boss Sun, since you mentioned that hospitalization..."
"Then you should still remember what kind of diagnosis the doctor gave you back then, right?"
Old Sun felt a bit creeped out by the question.
He unconsciously loosened his tie, his composure as a successful man beginning to slowly crumble.
"A diagnosis? Of course there was one."
"The doctor said I had multiple fractures, internal bleeding, and a concussion..."
"But Master, as you can see, I pulled through it all!"
"My body is as strong as an ox now! That car accident was just an incident; it's long since been behind me!"
Old Sun forced a smile, trying to bring the conversation back to a more relaxed atmosphere.
"Behind you?"
Su Yun softly repeated those three words.
A playful curve hooked the corner of his mouth, but there was no mirth in his eyes. Instead, they held a look of...
Pity.
Like watching a grasshopper dancing happily on the edge of a deep fryer.
"Boss Sun, there are some things that aren't truly better just because you feel they are."
"That medical record from back then—you might have thrown it away or intentionally forgotten it."
"But some things are written in the body, etched into one's fate."
Su Yun's voice wasn't loud, but every word reached Old Sun's ears clearly, as well as the ears of the hundred thousand viewers in the livestream room.
Old Sun's heart rate inexplicably quickened.
A very bad premonition surged in his heart.
"Master... what exactly are you trying to say?"
"Can we stop speaking in riddles? If you have something to say, just say it directly!"
Old Sun's voice grew louder, but this only exposed the panic in his heart.
Su Yun sighed.
He didn't want to be this cruel.
But there was no helping it; in this line of work, this was the job.
Rather than letting this fellow live in a false state of happiness raising someone else's children, it was better to just give him a quick, clean cut.
Better a short pain than a long one.
Su Yun set down the thermos in his hand, letting out a soft "thud."
The sound was like a judge's gavel falling.
"Fine. Since Boss Sun is being so direct, I won't beat around the bush either."
Su Yun leaned back slightly, his gaze like lightning, locking onto Old Sun's panicked face.
"Boss Sun, are you sure the end of that diagnosis from twenty years ago..."
"...read 'good recovery'?"
"And not 'severe damage to the lower body, permanent loss of reproductive function'?"
...
Su Yun's words were no different from dropping a nuclear bomb directly into the livestream.
The bullet chat, which had been frantically spamming 'jealous' and 'winner at life' just moments ago, came to a dead stop for a second.
Immediately after, an overwhelming flood of question marks followed.
Then, the viewers who had processed it completely exploded.
"Holy crap! Holy crap! What did I just hear?"
"Lower body damaged? Permanent loss of reproductive function? Then where did those three kids of his come from?"
"Where else? They must have been free gifts with a phone plan!"
"Is this the legendary... 'happy to be a father'? And a triple threat at that?"
"If the infertility is real, then that family photo Old Sun just showed... Oh my god, this isn't a happy family; it's a vast green pasture!"
"I was wondering why Master Su was so quiet; he was charging up his ultimate move!"
"This plot twist just broke my back!"
On the other side of the screen, Old Sun was dazed for a moment.
But he quickly snapped out of it.
The composure and confidence that had been on his face were instantly replaced by a flush of humiliated rage.
"Bullshit!"
Old Sun slammed the table violently, making the camera shake three times.
His large hand, wearing a Rolex, pointed straight at the lens, the veins on his neck bulging as if he wanted to skin Su Yun alive through the screen.
"You, surnamed Su! I gave you face, and you really think you're somebody now?"
"I respected you as a master and sent you gifts because I thought highly of you! How the hell do you dare to spread rumors and insult my family in the livestream?"
"Do you have no shame? Is there no law anymore?"
Old Sun was trembling with rage; he was truly losing it.
For a man, especially a successful one, what could be more humiliating than being publicly questioned about his ability to father children?
This was literally grinding his dignity into the dirt!
"My three children are each more outstanding than the last! I was waiting outside the delivery room for every single one of their births!"
"Birth certificates! Household registers! Paternity tests... oh wait, although we haven't done paternity tests, their looks, their features—which one of them doesn't take after me?"
"Especially the third one, he's the apple of my eye! You dare to say he's not my own flesh and blood?"
"If you dare to spout any more nonsense, believe it or not, I'll have a lawyer's letter sent tomorrow and sue you until you're bankrupt!"
Old Sun's roars echoed in the livestream room.
If it were any other streamer with a weaker psyche, they probably would have been intimidated by this aura.
After all, he was a wealthy boss; when he lost his temper, it was indeed quite intimidating.
But who was Su Yun?
He even dared to confront that murderer Wang Dahai face-to-face; this kind of 'family matter' didn't even count as a minor scene to him.
Facing Old Sun's fury, Su Yun didn't even lift an eyelid.
He leisurely picked up his thermos, blew on the steam, and took a sip of water.
That calmness formed a stark contrast with Old Sun's exasperated rage.
"Boss Sun, having a loud voice doesn't mean you're in the right."
Su Yun set down the cup, his tone as calm as if he were chatting about everyday matters.
"You don't need to rush to send a lawyer's letter, and you don't need to be in a hurry to slam the table at me."
"Evidence is never something that's established by shouting."
"Since you're so certain there's no problem with that diagnosis, do you dare to verify a few details with me?"
Old Sun panted heavily, staring intently at Su Yun. "What details? I'm an upright man who fears no shadows!"
Su Yun smiled.
"A fine 'upright man who fears no shadows' indeed."
"Twenty years ago, the hospital where you had your surgery was the City's Third People's Hospital. The attending physician was surnamed Zhang, named Zhang Jianmin. He was the head of orthopedics at the time and should be retired but rehired now."
"That's correct, isn't it?"
Old Sun froze for a moment and nodded subconsciously. "It... it was Director Zhang. So what? You could find that out just by asking around a little!"
Su Yun ignored his rebuttal and continued.
"The surgery lasted nine hours, and you were in a coma for three days and nights."
"After you woke up, your wife... oh, that is, your current virtuous helper, brought you a test report while crying."
"It said you had multiple soft tissue contusions and a pubic fracture, but your reproductive system's function wasn't fundamentally affected and would recover after six months of rest."
At this point, Su Yun paused, his gaze turning somewhat playful.
"Boss Sun, weren't you incredibly moved at the time?"
"Thinking you were lucky to be alive and that your wife was so devoted? You must have thought smoke was rising from your ancestral graves."
Old Sun's expression changed.
If Su Yun naming the hospital could be called a coincidence, then this detail about his wife bringing the report was a private matter known only to the couple!
"How... how do you know this so clearly?"
Old Sun's voice was a bit weak, and the arrogant flame from earlier was instantly cut in half.
When the viewers in the livestream saw this reaction, they immediately understood that Su Yun had hit the mark again.
"It's a lock! The Master is starting to call him out!"
"Looking at Old Sun's expression, he's probably been poked in a sore spot."
"No way? Could it be a fake report?"
Su Yun looked at Old Sun's shifting face and shook his head slightly.
"Because that report was fake from the start."
"The real one was intercepted by your wife."
"She was afraid you couldn't handle the blow, and even more afraid that you'd divorce her because of it, or that you'd give up on yourself after losing your fertility and ruin the family."
"Of course, those were just her reasons at the time."
Su Yun leaned forward and pointed behind Old Sun through the screen.
"Boss Sun, I know you don't believe me."
"A person like you only believes what you see with your own eyes."
"So, let's play something exciting."
"Stand up now, turn around, and go to your study."
