203: Chapter 203 Talking to the Photographer about the Music Video

After listening, Lu Li was already interested, but still somewhat hesitant.

The moment Shen Qingxue saw his expression, she immediately guessed what he was thinking and explained with a smile.

"Rest assured, it's a girl."

Seeing his little thoughts exposed, although he was still a bit embarrassed, Lu Li was quite stubborn.

"Where is your mind at! Contact her, right now, immediately."

"Don't you want to look at her work first before deciding?"

"No need, I definitely trust anyone recommended by you." Lu Li answered as a matter of course.

Shen Qingxue froze for a moment, then lowered her head and took a gentle sip of her raw coconut latte to conceal her current awkwardness.

"All right... I'll send her a message first to ask if she has any open schedule recently."

"Okay."

Shen Qingxue lowered her head to type, and after sending it, placed her phone on the table.

"She says she is free anytime now and asks approximately when we will need her."

"The sooner the better."

Lu Li turned back and thought for a moment.

"However, the exact time will probably have to wait until after the Semifinals end, otherwise the schedule will be too tight."

Shen Qingxue nodded, lowered her head to reply to another message, and then put down her phone.

"She said that's fine, we can set the specific time, and she can come over anytime."

"Alright, we'll contact her then."

The two sat in the coffee shop for a while longer and chatted about a few ideas regarding the MV style, but nothing was finalized.

After all, they hadn't even officially met the director yet, so talking about style was still too early.

When the cups were emptied, Lu Li stood up and stretched his neck.

"Let's go, back to work, let's finish the post-production of encounter first."

"Okay."

Shen Qingxue also stood up, picked up her phone and small bag, and the two walked out of the coffee shop side by side.

After returning to the hotel, Lu Li locked himself in his room, opened his laptop, plugged in his headphones, and began handling the post-production.

Without disturbing him, Shen Qingxue returned to her room, dug out her lyric notebook, and went through it from beginning to end over and over again.

Time slowly slipped away amidst their respective busy schedules.

In the evening, Lu Li exported the first version of the post-production and sent it to Shen Qingxue's phone.

The phone vibrated shortly after.

"Finished listening, it's even better than expected."

Lu Li stared at those words for two seconds, the corners of his mouth hooked up slightly, and then he typed back.

"Of course, anything I produce is a masterpiece."

"Starting to get full of yourself again."

"This is called confidence, confidence makes me strong."

After sending this message, Lu Li placed his phone on the table, stood up and stretched, walked over to the window, and pulled open the curtains.

The sky outside the window was beginning to darken, and the city lights were lighting up little by little.

After watching for a while, his phone vibrated again.

"What do you want to eat tonight? My treat."

Lu Li picked up his phone, saw this message, smiled, and typed a reply.

"We definitely have to eat something good, I want a seafood feast!"

Shen Qingxue's side was quiet for two seconds, and then she replied.

"... Then a seafood feast it is."

Looking at these words, Lu Li could already imagine the helpless expression she wore when typing them out.

He smiled, picked up his jacket, and walked out of the room.

After finishing dinner and returning to the hotel, the night had completely darkened.

Of course, the seafood feast was just something he said for fun, and in the end they didn't get to eat it; after all, a meal costing several thousand was considered cheap.

Right now, their financial resources weren't enough to support such a large expense.

When they reached the door of the room, Shen Qingxue stopped, turned her head, and glanced at Lu Li.

"Right, tomorrow that photographer will rush over from Shanghai, and then we'll meet up first. Do you want to go together?"

Lu Li thought for a moment and then nodded.

"Sure, there's nothing else to do anyway."

"Then see you in the lobby at nine tomorrow morning."

"Alright."

After bidding each other good night, the two returned to their respective rooms.

That night, Lu Li simply refined his plan a bit more and went straight to sleep.

At 8:50 the next morning.

Lu Li appeared in the hotel lobby on time.

Shen Qingxue had already been sitting on the sofa; seeing him walk out from the elevator entrance, her gaze lingered on him for a split second.

Today, Lu Li's attire was also rarely much more formal; even Shen Qingxue couldn't help but have her eyes light up subconsciously when she saw it.

Shen Qingxue quickly withdrew her gaze and stood up.

"Let's go, she sent a message saying she's already nearby, and we've arranged to meet at a teahouse."

"A teahouse?"

Lu Li raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.

"I thought we'd meet at some place like a cafe. Could it be a little old lady? After all, how many young people like drinking tea these days."

"A little old lady is out of the question; her age might even be a bit younger than you or me. However, she said a teahouse is quiet and suitable for discussing serious business."

Shen Qingxue gave him a sideways glance and strode outward.

Lu Li hurriedly kept pace with her, and the two walked out of the hotel side by side.

Afterwards, the two hopped on that small electric scooter and set off for their destination.

The location wasn't far; they arrived after riding for just a few minutes.

The storefront of this teahouse was very plain—white walls and grey tiles, with no eye-catching signboard, just a wooden plaque hanging above the doorframe carved with three characters.

Half-Day Leisure.

Lu Li looked around with curiosity, while on the other side, Shen Qingxue had already pushed the door open and walked in.

He hurried to follow; upon entering, a faint fragrance of tea rushed over them.

The teahouse wasn't large, with four or five tables set up.

There was only one person inside.

By the window sat a girl with a low ponytail, who looked really young.

She looked a bit like a college graduate just stepping out into society, her eyes holding a touch of clear stupidity.

Hearing the door chime, she raised her head, her gaze falling upon the two of them, and immediately stood up, acting very familiar right off the bat.

"Teacher Shen, long time no see."

Although her voice carried a slight huskiness, it sounded very comfortable.

"Jiang Cheng, long time no see."

Shen Qingxue walked over, sat down opposite her, and then turned to glance at Lu Li, briefly introducing him.

"This is Lu Li, um... my partner."

Jiang Cheng's gaze lingered on Lu Li for two seconds, then she smiled and proactively reached out her hand.

"I know, that songwriter Lu Li right? I've heard so much about you, today I finally get to see a live one."

Lu Li shook hands with her and chuckled despite himself.

"Thanks for the compliment, but if you're only seeing a live one today, could what you saw before have been dead?"

Jiang Cheng was full of smiles, not minding it in the least.

"What you see on TV naturally isn't live."

Lu Li was stunned; this girl's brain turned... so fast? ? ?

However, Jiang Cheng didn't linger long on this topic, instead looking at Shen Qingxue.

"It's rare that Teacher Shen still remembers me, and the first person you thought of when you had a gig actually turned out to be me."

"What if I had already looked for many people before you?" Shen Qingxue couldn't help teasing with a smile.

"That's fine too, the gig has already landed on my head anyway."

Jiang Cheng chuckled, not taking it to heart at all.

Shen Qingxue gave a soft smile and didn't intend to continue chatting idly; she picked up the teacup in front of her, took a sip, and cut straight to the chase.

"Jiang Cheng, I'll get straight to the point. We want to shoot a few MVs with a traditional Chinese style theme, and the budget isn't high."

"But in terms of time... we hope to push forward as quickly as possible."
